In order to practically examine a new type of class, in which cooperative learning is taken into consideration, we designed and built a classroom. This classroom, in which furniture and a flexible ICT basis are both designed reconfigurable, supports much more complex interactions between learners than in a traditional classroom. Two months' observation of the activities in the classroom shows that many aspects of the reconfigurations have encouraged complex interactions within cooperative learning. © 2011 IEEE.

In data mining, visual representation can help in enhancing the ability of analyzing and understanding the techniques, patterns and their integration. Recently, there are varieties of visualizers have been proposed in marketplace and knowledge discovery communities. However, the detail visualization processes for constructing any incremental tree data structure from its original dataset are rarely presented. Essentially, graphic illustrations of the complex processes are easier to be understood as compared to the complex computer pseudocode. Therefore, this paper explains the visualization process of constructing our incremental Disorder Support Trie Itemset (DOSTrieIT) data structure from the flat-file dataset. DOSTrieIT can be used later as a compressed source of information for building Frequent Pattern Tree (FP-Tree). To ensure understandability, an appropriate dataset and its processes are graphically presented and details explained.

Optimizing one-to-many negotiation agents in e-commerce using aspiration concept

With the growth of World Wide Web and increasing human demand on trading, e-commerce becomes an inseparable part of business. In the past decade a huge number of researches have been done in order to develop optimal negotiation agent systems in e-commerce. However, existing models are weak in supporting real world e-market conditions since most of them assume static conditions for environment and complete information about opponent agent's preferences. As a result, this work proposes an adaptive one-to-many negotiation model called Aspiration negotiation model. This model is proposed in order to assist agents to adapt to the dynamicity of opponent agent's preferences and environmental conditions. Proposed model is employed in order to optimize the negotiation outcome in terms of utility gained by agents. Experimental studies have been done to evaluate the performance of proposed model. Finally Aspiration model was able to outperform previous models in terms of seller, buyer and joint utility value. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

As ongoing war between the malware developer and defense mechanism planners there is a great challenge in providing an effective defense mechanism against evasion technique used by malware authors. The present paper provides a framework for malware detection based on the analysis of graphs introduced from instructions of the executable objects. The graph is constructed through the graph extractor, and then we used the simulated annealing algorithm to approximate the graph similarity measure. The threshold value plays a great role to relate the support vector machine to confirm the real class of the file, benign or malicious. © 2011 IEEE.

Learning Object (LO) is one of the main research topics in the e-learning community in the recent years, and most researchers pay attention to the issue of Learning Object Reusability. The most obvious motivation is the economic interest of reusing learning material instead of repeatedly authoring it. In this paper we present the process of creating granular learning object for enabling the reusing of LO in e-Learning context. Reusability requires the LO to be in a fine-grain form because raw media elements are often much easier to reuse then aggregate assemblies. In other words, as the LO size decreases (lower granularity), its potential for reuse increases. A prototype of learning objects repository that contain granular LO has been developed to show the process of granularizing LO. Each of existing LO will be extracted into granular element with the metadata and the system generated unique id for each LO based on its identifier (URL of LO) and save automatically the metadata contain in the LO. These metadata will be used for searching and retrieval process of the granule LO. © 2011 IEEE.

In digital watermarking performance evaluation at least three major metrics: imperceptibility, robustness and capacity have been widely used by researchers to analyze the performance of watermarking schemes;however, they constantly conflict with each other. In this paper we propose an effective method to evaluate the trade-off balanced degree among these measures using three threshold conditions. These thresholds comprise of three factors: imperceptibility effect 'before attack and after watermarking', perceptibility effect 'after attack', and robustness 'after attack'. As a result of this study, the performance trade-off of a watermarking scheme can be stated based on degrees. Moreover, we proposed Reset Removal Attack as a severe geometric attack. Finally, the experimental investigation of the proposed technique using the bit-plane watermarking algorithms under several intensities of Reset Removal Attack revealed that the 3rd bit-plane algorithm behaved a better compromise among robustness, image quality, and capacity. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

Lack of hearing ability hinders deaf children from mastering grammar in language studies. Unfortunately, such software targeting Malay language is limited. This paper attempts to generate new approach in handling such software. These include detection of defects when switching into local languages, date format and accommodating the local laws. The acceptance of international software for local use goes beyond just these aspects. For this purpose, software that supports the multi-languages is evaluated. The main research question of this paper: The lack of cultural dimensions in localisation testing of assistive technology decreases the effectiveness of localisation testing of the localised software. On the account of cultural dimensions, Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions will be experimented to study which cultural dimensions are most suited for such software. From our empirical results, the failure rate of the testing is higher compared to incorporating culture dimensions. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper compares three techniques for Arabic text classification;these techniques are Support Vector Machine (SVM) with Sequential Minimal Optimization (SMO), Naïve Bayesian (NB), and J48. The main objective of this paper is to measure the accuracy for each classifier and to determine which classifier is more accurate for Arabic text classification based on stop words elimination. The accuracy for classifier is measured by Percentage split method (holdout), and K-fold cross validation methods,. The results show that the SMO classifier achieves the highest accuracy and the lowest error rate, and shows that the time needed to build the SMO model is the smallest time. © 2010 ACM.
