The accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation methodology for web-based application is very important for software development as it would be able to assist the management team to estimate the cost. Furthermore, it will ensure that the development of cost is within the planned budget and provides a fundamental motivation towards the development of web-based application proíéct. The literature review reveals that COCOMO II provides accurate result because more variables are considered including reuse parameter. The parameter is one of the essential variables in estimating the cost in web-based application development. This research investigates the feasibility to combine and implement COCOMO II and el pert I Udgment technil be in a tool called WebCost. In estimating a cost, the tool considers all variables in COCOMO II and rei bires el pert l udgment to key-in the input of the variables such as pro I éct size, pro I éct type, cost ad i Ustment factor and cost driven factor. I leveloped in JA I A, WebCost is proven able to estimate cost and generate its estimation result. The usability evaluation conducted had shown that WebCost is usable when compared with other tools I lit has its own advantages. WebCost is evidence suitable for everyone especially the prolect managers, software practitioners or software engineering student in handling the cost estimation tasks. © 2010 IEEE.

Information security is the most important element in an organization including the High Learning Institution (HLIs). Apart from technological aspect, HLIs must enforce proper policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with laws and regulations to ensure safe and secured environment. This research has two main objectives. First is to identify the major component of information security framework (ISF). Secondly, to investigate IT personnel perceptions on the existing information security policy practices. Two modes of data collection were used in this study;interview and survey respectively. Hence, this research has defined five major components in the ISF through the preliminary investigation via interview with the IT personnel in HLIs. Based on the developed ISF, a survey was conducted to fulfill the second objective. As a result, it shown that most of them are concerns with the existing policy and practices. Nevertheless, improvement of policy content, awareness and compliance must be focus in order to ensure the information security level is at topmost. This paper explains the results and future hope in detail. © 2010 IEEE.

During the last few years, need for protection of computer networks from the outside world is evident. Connectivity of the computer networks to worked wide internet exposes them to many kinds of cyber-crimes. Currently Intrusion detection systems have grown to be an ordinary component of network security infrastructure. With mounting global network connectivity, the issue of intrusion has achieved importance, promoting active research on efficient Intrusion Detection systems (IDS). Among the diverse forms of malware, Botnet is the most widespread and serious threat which occurs commonly in today's cyber attacks. Botnets are collections of compromised computers which are remotely controlled by its originator (BotMaster) under a common Commond-and-Control (C&C) infrastructure. They provide a distributed platform for several illegal activities such as launching distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks against critical targets, malware distribution, phishing, and click fraud. Most of the existing Botnet detection approaches concentrate only on particular Botnet command and control (C&C) protocols (e.g., IRC,HTTP) and structures (e.g., centralized), and can become ineffective as Botnets change their structure and C&C techniques. The detection of Botnet has been a major research topic in recent years. Different techniques and approaches have been proposed for detection and tracking of Botnet. This survey classifies Botnet detection techniques into two approaches. One approach is based on setting up honeynets and another approach is based on Intrusion Detection system( IDS) which has been categorized into signature-based and anomaly-based detection techniques. © 2010 IEEE.

Handling uncertain events that could happen anytime and anywhere and dealing with many complex systems interconnected physically and socially makes Disaster Management (DM) a multidisciplinary endeavor and a very difficult domain to model. In this paper we present a development and validation of a Disaster Management Metamodel (DMM), a language that we develop specific for describing DM domain. The metamodel, a precise definition of the constructs and rules needed for creating the semantic models of DM domain consists of four views based on four DM phases including Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery-phase classes of concept. A Model Importance Factor (MIF) criterion is used to identify 10 existing disaster management models to evaluate the expressiveness and the completeness of DMM. The paper presents the synthesis process and the resulting metamodel, as a foundational component to create a Disaster Management Decision Support system (DMDSS) to unify, facilitate and expedite access to DM expertise. © 2010 [Othman&Beydoun].

The sky has always been the crucial element in modeling the background of an outdoor scene. The position of the sun during the day gives a different impact on the sky colour. The sky colour indirectly affects the colour of the objects which were exposed to the lighting, such as the orangish red colour of the clouds seen during sunsets. Consequently, this study will emphasize on how to produce illuminated 3D objects based upon the effects of interaction between the sunlight and sky. A two-part program was developed for this study. The first part of the program concentrates on producing the correct sky colour depending on the position of the sun using Perez's function. The sky colour will be plotted on the sky dome which in turn will become a closed environment for the clouds. The interaction will occur in the second part of the program where the energy transfer in the dome environment with color of the sky as the main source illumination, resulting in the colour bleeding effect when using the radiosity approach. The result from this study is applicable to daylight modeling of building by showing the lighting effects from the sun and the sky. © 2010 IEEE.

In many cases, students become stressed and they become worried about their study, which in terms become a great impediment to their learning capability. This paper proposes new framework of intelligent game model based on biofeedback techniques. The model consists of two modules (visual learning and IQ test) that will conjoined with a biofeedback device connected to a computer to monitor student heart rate and record its changes in a stressful situation and generate appropriate reports. The two games have different purpose to serve. Visual learning games will improve learner's visual learning capability, memorizing capability and IQ test will improve analytical ability. © 2010 IEEE.

Internet services that has become easier to access has contributed to the drastic increase in the number of web pages. This phenomenon has created new difficulties to internet users about retrieving the latest, relevant and excellent web information. This is due to the enormous contents of web information that have caused problems in the restructuring of web information. Thus, in order to ensure the latest, quality and relevant web information is optimally retrievable, it is necessary to undertake the task of web document classification. This paper discusses the result of classifying web document using the extraction and machine learning techniques. Four types of kernels namely the Radial Basis Function (RBF), linear, polynomial and sigmoid are applied to test the accuracy of the classification. The results show that the accuracy percentage of web document classification will increase whenever more web document is used. The results also show that linear kernel technique is the best in web document classification compared to RBF, polynomial and sigmoid. © 2010 IEEE.

The ever fast-expanding web information resources pose a big challenge to internet users seeking the most relevant,latest and quality *** sheer vast amount of web information has resulted in restructuring of the ***,an appropriate web classification method needs to be established in order for quality web information to be *** paper intends to discuss the web document features that classify the web information *** web document features have been identified which are text,meta tag and title (A),title and text (B),title (C),meta tag and title (D),meta tag (E) and text (F).The Support Vector Machine (SVM) method is used to classify the web document while four types of kernels namely:Radial Basis Function (RBF),linear,polynomial and sigmoid kernels was applied to test the accuracy of the *** studies show that the text,meta tag and title (A) features is the best features for classification of web document that employs the four kernels followed by the features on title and text (B) as well as the features on meta tag and title (C).The studies also found that the linear kernel is the best kernel in classifying the web document compared to the RBF,polynomial and sigmoid kernel.
