Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is one of the emerging technologies today. This application offers the user a service by which one can call another person at a low cost as compare with traditional phone services. One drawback to the Internet is spam, which are unsolicited or unwanted objects which often appear as unwanted messages in various email applications. For VoIP, spam refers to unsolicited and unwanted calls by the VoIP user. In this paper, we have purposed a solution to prevent the spam in VoIP. The CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell computers and Human Apart) method aims to determine whether the call is coming from a human or a machine. The key contribution of this paper is a proof-of-concept implementation of a CAPTCHA mechanism to prevent VoIP Spam.

Wireless sensor networks have received a great attention since they emerged as new ways of communicating and distributing information in wireless network. However the security aspect of wireless sensor network remains an issue, namely authentication, key management and secure localization. Since the communication of wireless sensor is on broadcast basis, researchers are focusing on how to design an efficient authentication scheme since the data might lost during the transmission and this is crucial for entity authentication prior the actual communication. Entity or user authenticity is important to avoid forgery and replay attack. This paper will focus on authentication by investigating three authentication schemes based on user authentication for Wireless Sensor Network. We identify their weakness and we finally introduce a new scheme which is based on identity-bits commitment for authentication that overcomes problems identified in studied schemes. A basic security analysis is followed to support the strength of the scheme in a real deployment. © 2010 IEEE.

Nowadays, Tension or Stress is a common and serious problem in our Global Village. Stress and stress related factors contribute to tension and reduced ability to handle life's everyday challenges. This paper proposes a new method to reduce the stress and tension of our life and also proves that mentally, spiritually and physically relaxation can be achieved by the recitation of the holy Quran. In this technique of listening, reading and watching the text of the Holy Quran subject (User) can involve the whole body. The entire process will be controlled by brain, as a result during this practice the whole body will receive relaxation/refreshment, and the exhaustion, boring and tiredness will be finished. This physiological biofeedback manner provides groceries for spirit. Hence this means can be used in hospitals for mentally disturb and depression effected patients, for relaxation of the soldiers, for refreshing the students, to cool down workers in industries and for the entertainment of passengers in buses and airplanes. This approach replaces negative thoughts with positive and truthful thoughts.

This paper is concerned with a simultaneous design problems of structural and reduced-order H ∞ control systems. The purpose of this paper is to propose an iterative approach to the simultaneous design problem, which constructs a sequence of infeasible controller variables The feature of our approach is that it is easy to choose an initial point which is needed to carry out the iterative approach. The efficiency of our approach is shown by a numerical example.

The correct assessment of bone fracture risk is a mandatory issue for the application of efficient therapeutic scheme. However, it is still not clear which parameter can better predict the probability of a broken event. The correct identification of the fracture zone is a prerequisite in order to recognize the best parameter describing the bone failure. The in-vitro analysis of trabecular bone by means of micro tomographic devices (micro-CT) is a common technique for the study of bone structure. In this scenario image guide failure analysis is becoming a powerful tool for the characterization of trabecular bone mechanical behavior. In the present study the application of image registration techniques is proposed for the rapid and precise identification of the broken fracture. Five trabecular bone specimens were acquired by means of a micro-CT before and after the mechanical compression. The two datasets of every specimen were registered using a surface based automatic method and the broken region was identified as the only region not registered. The automatic procedure was finally validated comparing its results to the visual identification of three operators independently. The procedure resulted in complete agreement in 7 cases out of 10. For the three remaining cases, the operators had to compare their findings against the ones suggested by the automatic registration procedure. In all three cases, the operators had to correct their findings suggesting that the proposed automatic registration procedure was successfully performed and the identification of the fracture zone was correct. In conclusion, a novel procedure for the identification of trabecular bone fracture zone was presented and validated throughout this study. © 2010 International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering.

In this paper, we revisit the energy-based swing-up control for the Pendubot, a two-link underactuated planar robot with a single actuator at the base joint (shoulder). Different from previous energy-based control solutions, we obtain the following results: 1) we provide a bigger control parameter region for achieving the control objective. Specifically, we present a necessary and sufficient condition for avoiding the singular points in the control law. We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition on the control parameters such that the up-down equilibrium point (at which links 1 and 2 are in the upright and downward positions, respectively) is the only undesired closed-loop equilibrium point. 2) We prove that the up-down equilibrium point is saddle (hyperbolic and unstable) via an elementary proof by using the Routh-Hurwitz criterion to show that the Jacobian matrix valued at the point has two and two eigenvalues in the open left- and right-half planes, respectively. This paper prove that the Pendubot will eventually enter the basin of attraction of any stabilizing controller for all initial conditions with the exception of a set of Lebesgue measure zero provided that these improved conditions on the control parameters are satisfied. The simulation results are provided to validate these results.

In order to achieve secure access to color medical image, a symmetric color medical image encryption is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm is base on combination of scrambling and confusion processes. 2D lower triangular map used for scrambling the addresses of image pixels, and the proposed propeller algorithm is used to confuse the gray values of image pixels. A number of security analyses conducted to evaluate the proposed algorithm including key space analysis, statistical analysis and lossless analysis. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm robust against brute-force attack and statistical attack. Finally the proposed algorithm is lossless algorithm.

Sensor network terminals are installed in large numbers in the field and transmit data periodically by radio. Such terminals must be miniaturized, and save power so that each device can operate by battery for several years. As one way to satisfy these two conditions, in this research we propose a terminal design which eliminates the receiver circuit. Because there is no receiver circuit, circuitry can be miniaturized, and power can be saved because there is no need to consume power to receive signals. However, the terminals cannot perform carrier detection and reception acknowledgement because there is no receiver circuit. We propose following two new protocols to solve this problem. © 2010 IEEE.

Information security is the most important element in an organization including the High Learning Institution (HLIs). Apart from technological aspect, HLIs must enforce proper policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with laws and regulations to ensure safe and secured environment. This research has two main objectives. First is to identify the major component of information security framework (ISF). Secondly, to investigate IT personnel perceptions on the existing information security policy practices. Two modes of data collection were used in this study; interview and survey respectively. Hence, this research has defined five major components in the ISF through the preliminary investigation via interview with the IT personnel in HLIs. Based on the developed ISF, a survey was conducted to fulfill the second objective. As a result, it shown that most of them are concerns with the existing policy and practices. Nevertheless, improvement of policy content, awareness and compliance must be focus in order to ensure the information security level is at topmost. This paper explains the results and future hope in detail.

Fuzzy Logic is used to derive the optimal inventory policies in the Supply Chain (SC) numbers. We examine the performance of the optimal inventory policies by cutting the costs and increasing the supply chain management efficiency. The proposed inventory policy uses multi-agent and Fuzzy logic, and provides managerial insights on the impact of the decision making in all the SC numbers. In particular, we focus on the way in which our agent purchases components using a mixed procurement strategy (combining long and short term planning) and how it sets its prices according to the prevailing market conditions and its own inventory level (because this adaptivity and flexibility are key to its success). In modern global market, one of the most important issues of the supply chain (SC) management is to satisfy changing customer demands and enterprises should enhance the long-term advantage through the optimal inventory control. In this paper an intelligent multi-agent system to simulate supply chain management has been developed.
