Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,Ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),root MSE(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSE of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.

Water resource management worldwide faces significant challenges, including high consumption rates, scarcity, and ageing infrastructure. This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to address these issues through five key solutions. Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) first facilitates real-time data collection and consumer awareness campaigns. Secondly, wastewater recycling and reuse are promoted by upgrading wastewater treatment plants and fostering public-private partnerships. Thirdly, reducing network losses is achieved through leak detection systems and regular maintenance. Fourthly, policy enhancement and regulatory frameworks are strengthened by implementing regulations for new developments and incentives for water-saving technologies. Lastly, community engagement and education initiatives are undertaken to promote sustainable water practices. This multifaceted strategy aims to improve water conservation, efficiency, and resilience of the water supply system. This paper proposes solutions that can be applied to the Madinah AL Munawara region of Saudi Arabia, an area of utmost importance, demonstrating the applicability and effectiveness of these solutions in addressing regional water management challenges. © The Author(’s).

Artificial Intelligence(AI)and computer Vision(CV)advancements have led to many useful methodologies in recent years,particularly to help visually-challenged *** detection includes a variety of challenges,for example,handlingmultiple class images,images that get augmented when captured by a camera and so *** test images include all these variants as *** detection models alert them about their surroundings when they want to walk *** study compares four CNN-based pre-trainedmodels:ResidualNetwork(ResNet-50),Inception v3,DenseConvolutional Network(DenseNet-121),and SqueezeNet,predominantly used in image recognition *** on the analysis performed on these test images,the study infers that Inception V3 outperformed other pre-trained models in terms of accuracy and *** further improve the performance of the Inception v3 model,the thermal exchange optimization(TEO)algorithm is applied to tune the hyperparameters(number of epochs,batch size,and learning rate)showing the novelty of the *** accuracy was achieved owing to the inclusion of an auxiliary classifier as a regularizer,hyperparameter optimizer,and factorization ***,Inception V3 can handle images of different *** makes Inception V3 the optimum model for assisting visually challenged people in real-world communication when integrated with Internet of Things(IoT)-based devices.

This article suggests a new business intelligence system for risk management in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It depends on social media perceptions. It uses a lexicon approach to analyze, identify and assess risks. It will help SMEs managers in making best decisions. Also, a mathematical formulation and explicit formulas for the proposed system are provided. In addition, Book Nook enterprise is studied as a use case to examine the potential risks through the tweets of customers. These days, spectrum insufficiency is the most common issue. If the number of smartphone users who access the radio spectrum grows, the radio spectrum becomes increasingly scarce. Certain types of technology equipment are designed to work only within a specific spectrum range, and there is rivalry in specifications for various other applications. As a result, this paper effectively exploits a licensed user’s unused spectrum to reduce the crowded spectrum and eradicate the Radio spectrum shortage. Licensed primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs) would be accepted into a Fusion Centre (FC) based on a spectrum framework with authentication. The approved PUs begin by updating their information to FC1;thenceforth, encryption is performed on the information uploaded to FC1. This information from FC1 is stored in Cloud Storage after encryption using the Blowfish algorithm & De-oxy DNA, a fast encryption algorithm. Following that, FC2, connected to the same cloud environment, downloads the PU data uploaded. The spectrum is then allocated to the authenticated SU linked to FC2 based on signal conditions and priority. This proposed method also avoids any delay in the network and encryption by acquiring a fast encryption algorithm, making the system faster and avoiding the Primary User Emulation (PUE) attack. Later, the time taken for the Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA) and the Blowfish/DNA algorithm are compared to validate the run time for different input images. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

User Experience (UX) evaluation has a significant importance for any interactive application. Mobile device applications have additional limitations to convey good user experiences (UX) due to the usage and features of mobile devices in ubiquitous computing contexts. There are a lot of automated tools available for evaluating, such applications particularly developed for Android and iOS. Automated UX evaluation provides a number of strengths which are able to overcome the limitations of non-automated (moderated) counterparts. Automated UX evaluation is regarded as unexplored field, especially when it is adopted for the UX evaluation of complex mobile application. Despite these, automated UX evaluation tools are unexplored and should only be used in coupling with traditional UX evaluation techniques. Hence, this study aims to discuss the literature in automated UX evaluation and to highlight the UX measurements that merit further investigation. This paper presents the most fre-quently used automated UX evaluation tools for mobile applications. Therefore, the study analyzes existing automated UX tools and frameworks and identifies which UX attributes and measurements of automated UX evaluation are likely to be of use in future research. Moreover, we discuss the strengths and limitations of automated UX evaluation methods for mobile applications. Finally, the paper provides an overview of automated UX evaluation techniques and tools. Crafting Compelling Argumentative Writing for Undergraduates: Exploring the Nexus of Digital Annotations, Conversational Agents, and Collaborative Concept Maps

Argumentative writing is a fundamental aspect of undergraduate students’ academic and scientific writing related to critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, previous studies have shown that students face various difficulties with argumentative writing, such as unclear and illogical ideas, less-structured arguments, and unbalanced interpretation of issues, data, and evidence. This study aims to improve the argumentative writing skills of undergraduate students by integrating computer-supported argumentative writing tools, such as annotation, conversational agents (CAs), and collaborative concept maps, into an online learning management system. Since the study was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, these tools can support meaningful learning activities and investigation in argumentative writing. The researchers divided sixty participants into the experimental group (N = 30) and the control group (N = 30). The results showed that the experimental group’s writing achievements outperformed the control group, and the three tools effectively improved the five elements of argumentative writing, including claims, grounds, warrants, backings, and rebuttal. Furthermore, a deep analysis found that the number of annotations, valid CAs’ responses, and argument nodes on collaborative concept maps can significantly predict students’ argumentative writing development. Moreover, students perceived that the incorporated tools could effectively improve their argumentative writing skills. © The Author(s) 2024.

In this paper, we study a generalized quasi-variational inequality (GQVI for short) with twomultivalued operators and two bifunctions in a Banach space setting. A coupling of the Tychonov fixedpoint principle and the Katutani-Ky Fan theorem for multivalued maps is employed to prove a new existencetheorem for the GQVI. We also study a nonlinear optimal control problem driven by the GQVI and givesufficient conditions ensuring the existence of an optimal control. Finally, we illustrate the applicability of thetheoretical results in the study of a complicated Oseen problem for non-Newtonian fluids with a nonmonotone andmultivalued slip boundary condition (i.e., a generalized friction constitutive law), a generalized leak boundarycondition, a unilateral contact condition of Signorini’s type and an implicit obstacle effect, in which themultivalued slip boundary condition is described by the generalized Clarke subgradient, and the leak boundarycondition is formulated by the convex subdifferential operator for a convex superpotential.

The issue of illegal migration dominates political and media discourse, particularly on social media, generating interest in collecting and analyzing textual data from platforms like Twitter, and Facebook. Named Entity Recognition (NER) is a natural language processing technique used to extract information from unstructured text, including identifying named entities such as people, organizations, and locations. This study aims to contribute to the identification of entities within collected textual data from Twitter related to illegal migration associated with Libya. The study will employ data mining tools, particularly pre-trained NER models to achieve its objective. The research is significant as there is currently no Libyan study that has addressed this specific subject using this technique. NER can help researchers, policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and humanitarian organizations to better understand the scope, dynamics, and impact of this complex issue.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal. © 2023 IEEE.
