This work offers a low profile, and enhanced microstrip patch antenna for 5G and Wi-Max applications. The proposed design is based on a patch antenna embedded with reflective surface metamaterial consisting of an array of 5 × 5 elements. The simulated and measured of S11 has been observed to determine its performance. The advancement of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) evolution known as Reflective Surface (RS) metamaterial has been adopted to integrate with the patch antenna. This design has a small size of 107 mm × 107 mm. Furthermore, it has been integrated with the microstrip patch antenna under two different configurations which provides a variation performance antenna in terms of reflection coefficient for both configuration 1 and configuration 2, at the operating frequency of 3.5 GHz. For configuration 1, no significant changes have been observed. While in configuration 2, the resonant frequency of the patch antenna has been shifted up and down with the best S11 is -40dB at 3.4 GHz

An autonomic nervous system (ANS) of humans is majorly affected by psychological stress. The changes in ANS may cause several chronic diseases in humans. The electrocardiogram (ECG) signal is used to observe the variation in ANS. Numerous techniques are presented for an ECG stress signal handling feature extraction and classification. This work managed a heart rate variability feature acquired from smaller peak waveforms such as P, Q, S, and T waves. Also, the R peak is detected, which is a significant part of the ECG waveform. In this work, the proposed stress classification work has been categorized into two main processes: feature selection (FS) and classification. The main aim of the proposed work is to propose an optimized FS and classifier model for the detection of stress in ECG signals. The Metaheuristics model of the African vulture optimization (AVO) technique is presented to perform an FS. This selection is made to choose the required features and minimize the data for classification. The AVO-based modified Elman recurrent neural network (MERNN) technique is proposed to perform an efficient classification. The AVO is used for fine-tuning the weight of the MERNN technique. The experimental result of this technique is evaluated in terms of Recall (91.56%), Accuracy (92.43%), Precision (92.78%), and F1 score (95.86%). Thus, the proposed performance achieved a superior result than the conventional techniques. © 2023 Narmadha G et al.

Twitter is a widespread supply for real-time news distribution between individuals. Furthermore, spammers could post any kinds of spam content to users, and a variant of incidents are committed on Twitter against users. These threats aren't restricted to the social media platforms however they threaten the safety of Twitter users. Most of the researches use deep learning techniques to detect Twitter spammer activities. The traditional solutions check the behavior of each account or campaign of similar purpose accounts. The number of solutions concentrate on detecting spam campaign based on URL only and ignoring text in a tweet. In this paper, the lightweight framework is proposed to take tweet text into consideration for optimizing spam campaign detection methods based on deep learning techniques. The main contribution of this work summarized in two key points. First one is to summarize text of the tweets to cluster them. The second one is to find similar tweets based on Siamese Recurrent Network. Experimental results show the ability of the proposed technique to extract the right candidate campaign and classify them as spam or not with high recall and precision. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The latest developments in the industrial Internet of things (IIoT) have opened up a collection of possibilities for many industries. To solve the massive IIoT data security and efficiency problems, a potential approach is considered to satisfy the main needs of IIoT, such as high throughput, high security, and high efficiency, which is named blockchain. The blockchain mechanism is considered a significant approach to boosting data protection and performance. In the quest to amplify the capabilities of blockchain-based IIoT, a pivotal role is accorded to the Glowworm Swarm Optimization (GSO) algorithm. Inspired by the collaborative brilliance of glowworms in nature, the GSO algorithm offers a unique approach to harmonizing these conflicting aims. This paper proposes a new approach to improve the performance optimization of blockchain-based IIoT using the GSO algorithm due to the blockchain's contradictory objectives. The proposed blockchain-based IIoT system using the GSO algorithm addresses scalability challenges typically associated with blockchain technology by efficiently managing interactions among nodes and dynamically adapting to network demands. The GSO algorithm optimizes the allocation of resources and decision-making, reducing inefficiencies and bottlenecks. The method demonstrates considerable performance improvements through extensive simulations compared to traditional algorithms, offering a more scalable and efficient solution for industrial applications in the context of the IIoT. The extensive simulation and computational study have shown that the proposed method using GSO considerably improves the objective function and blockchain-based IIoT systems' performance compared to traditional algorithms. It provides more efficient and secure systems for industries and corporations. © 2024 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Energy plays an important role in the economic growth of any nation, but unfortunately, Pakistan is facing a severe power crisis that has caused economic losses in the past two decades. One reason is the lack of proper planning, and planning is made with the help of accurate forecasting. Usually, energy consumption prediction is based on the univariate models neglecting the other influencing factors like economic, social and environmental. And even when we consider these external factors, it is very hard to select the appropriate factors. We have taken into consideration nine different external factors and also the lag values of dependent variables (Electricity, gas and oil). Upon making different combinations, we derived over 4000 regression models and our algorithms selected the best models based on the value of mean absolute percentage error and root-mean-square error. Our method provides a comprehensive approach for variable selection and best model selection for prediction. © 2021 IEEE.

Evolved from the conventional Fourier decomposition based on a pre-defined basis, Adaptive Fourier decomposition (AFD) uses adaptive basis to achieve the fast energy convergence. This paper extends the AFD to the multi-channel case, which finds common adaptive basis across all channels. The proposed multi-channel AFD (MAFD) scheme includes the multi-channel core AFD for general signals and the multi-channel unwinding AFD for specific signals that have common inner functions. Owing to the merits of the original AFD, the MAFD can provide sparse joint time-frequency distribution by computing the transient time frequency distribution (TTFD) across channels. Simulations on synthetic and real-world signals demonstrate that the proposed scheme can find and apply the common adaptive basis with desired properties maintained by the AFD, showing high potentials in real-world applications. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

The implementation of efficient security mechanisms for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system has always been a continuous challenge due to its limited computing resources. Previously,hash-based, symmetric-key cryptography-based and elliptic curve cryptography based security protocols were proposed for RFID system. However, these protocols are not suitable because some of them failed to fulfil the RFID security requirements, and some of them produce high computational overhead. Recently researchers have focused on developing an efficient security mechanism based on hyperelliptic curve cryptography (HECC) which provides high security with 80 bits lower-key size. In this paper, we propose an efficient RFID authentication scheme based on hyperelliptic curve Signcryption. The proposed authentication scheme provides the required security features for the RFID system as well as security from potential attacks. We validated our proposed scheme’s security by utilizing a widely used simulation tool, Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications (AVISPA). Furthermore, the results reveal that the computational, communication and storage overheads of the proposed scheme is much less than the other recently proposed schemes. Compared to the most recently published work based on ECC Signcryption, our scheme is 70% efficient in terms of computational overhead, 42.7% efficient in terms of communication overhead, and 50% efficient in terms of storage overhead. Therefore, the proposed scheme is more efficient as compared to the recently published work in this domain. Hence, it is an attractive solution for resource-limited devices like RFID tags. © 2021, CC BY.

Many companies have opted for the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in their business processes, in order to achieve their corporate goals and obtain excellent results, but this has not always been achieved. The objective of this study was to present the prototype of a model that can align corporate strategies with ICT, in an Ecuadorian company. The quantitative approach was applied and the deductive method and exploration were used to analyze the information of articles and scientific. The result was a model that aligns ICT with corporate strategies in which a table was included with indicators of alignment between ICT and business strategy classified according to the strategic leadership style of the company for decision making, it was applied under the framework of Miles and Snow, in addition to the evaluation of the strategies, was effective using the Saaty scale and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method applied for making objective decisions. It was concluded that the strategic alignment was achieved when the Scope of the Planning with the ICT Scope, under the Miles and Snow framework, the Analytical Hierarchy Process method was also applied, where a value of 0.08 for CR was obtained, which indicates that it is within the acceptable and consistent, transmission of cost reduction, standardization of processes, improvement in work flow and communications. © 2020 IEEE.

Internet technology led to the emergence of Web 2.0 which increase the number of User Generated Content (UGC) on the network. Online product review is a form of UGC. The case study in this research is a review of handphone products. The large number of reviews will take long time to read and compare between existing product reviews, so we need a technique that online product review can be read quickly without losing of its important information. The technique that can be used is the text summarizing technique. Text summarization techniques produce simplified versions of texts. In general, text summarization can be divided into two types, namely extractive and abstractive summaries. This research used extractive summaries. One important component in the process of obtaining an extractive summary is sentence extraction. In this study, the algorithm used for sentence extraction is TextRank. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the TextRank algorithm with handphone product reviews data by implementing it in different data conditions based on the presence or absence of a stopword and typo. These data conditions are used to formulate test scenarios. Testing is done by calculating the Rouge-1 value which compares the summary of system and experts. Expert who involved in this study are 2. Expert 1 is a person with expertise in Indonesian and Expert 2 is someone who has the knowledge and understanding of mobile phones with various types and characteristics. From the test results obtained, Expert 1 gets the best results for scenario 2 where data conditions are there is typo and no stopword with an average value of Rouge-1 of 42.29% and Expert 2 gets the best results for scenario 3 where data conditions are no typo and there is stopword with an average value of Rouge-1 is 46.71%. The results shows that the TextRank algorithm is not able to produce a good summary for handphone product review dataset. © 2020 IEEE.

Software-defined networking (SDN) is an emerging architecture that enables network management by decoupling network control plane and data plane forwarding functions. The network controller not only monitors the data traffic but also defines the forwarding rules. Broadcast limit and loop avoidance are essential requirements for OpenFlow devices. The multiple domains are necessary for scalability in large-scale networks like on wide area network (WAN), metropolitan area networks etc. On the data plane layer, one inter-domain link connection among multiple domains in the SDN limits the scalability of SDN networks. Thus, at least two inter-domain connections are required to improve the scalability of end-to-end services in the whole SDN network. However, the two links cause loops and packet drop problems in the SDN network without controller synchronization. In this paper, the Avoid Loop with Test Packet (ALTP) scheme solution is used to provide end-to-end delivery service of data traffic and to avoid the above issues (i.e., forwarding loop and packets drop) without synchronization of control planes between the different domain controllers. The test packets in the ALTP scheme is echo and reply packets, we are used this mechanism to check the path's delay rate by using inter-domain links from the source node to the destination node. In the ALTP scheme, the source domain controller keeps the one link active among multiple inter-domain links through its egress nodes. © 2020 IEEE.
