Ultrathin flat metalenses have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional diffractive lenses,offering new possibilities for myriads of miniaturization and interfacial ***-based materials can achieve both phase and amplitude modulations simultaneously at a single position due to the modification of the complex refractive index and thickness by laser conversion from graphene oxide into graphene like *** this work,we develop graphene oxide metalenses to precisely control phase and amplitude modulations and to achieve a holistic and systematic lens design based on a graphene-based material *** experimentally validate our strategies via demonstrations of two graphene oxide metalenses:one with an ultra-long(~16λ)optical needle,and the other with axial multifocal spots,at the wavelength of 632.8 nm with a 200 nm thin *** proposed graphene oxide metalenses unfold unprecedented opportunities for accurately designing graphene-based ultrathin integratable devices for broad applications.

A comparative study of the accuracy between conventional and digital impressions in different implant angulations and depths

Purpose To compare the accuracy of implant impression technique between conventional and digital impressions (digital scans) in different implant angulations and depths (gingival heights). Material and methods Seven master models with polyester resin and condensation-cured silicone, featuring three dental implants at 0°, 15°, and 30° buccal angulations and varying gingival heights (GH2-8), were used. Seventy STL files were generated using conventional impressions and digital scans. Accuracy of the impressions were evaluated by comparing STL files to the reference models, measuring linear and angular deviations. Trueness was determined by average deviation, while precision was assessed by intra-group variation. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results This study revealed that, in the 0-degree group, no significant differences were found between the two impression methods at different heights. The 15-degree buccally angulated implant showed significant differences between GH4 and GH8 (p = 0.009), while a 30-degree buccally angulated implant showed significant differences between GH 4 and GH 6, 7, 8 (p = 0.013, 0.005, 0.003 respectively). Digital scans consistently exhibited significantly lower angular deviation of precision compared to conventional impressions, except for GH2 (p < 0.001). There were no statistically significant differences in the precision of linear deviation. Conclusions Within the limitations of this in vitro study, no significant differences in accuracy were observed between the two impression methods at different heights in the parallel groups, but significant differences found when implant depths in angulated implants were increased.

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into modern homes has enhanced safety and comfort, particularly in detecting gas leaks, which pose serious fire hazards. Gas leaks can often be detected by smell, but this method fails when no one is present. Previous research using microcontrollers and sensors to detect gas leaks faced challenges with accuracy due to noise interference. This paper proposes the use of a Kalman filter, developed by Rudolf Emil Kalman in 1960, to improve gas leak detection accuracy by filtering out noise. The system comprises an Arduino Nano, ESP8266 WiFi module, MQ-2 gas sensor, buzzer, and ThingSpeak cloud platform. By applying the Kalman filter, noise and data oscillations are reduced, enhancing detection accuracy. Experimental results show the system effectively detects gas leaks, provides real-time data, and triggers alarms. Future improvements could include additional sensors and features to further increase the system’s reliability and functionality.

The broken inversion symmetry at the ferromagnet (FM)/heavy-metal (HM) interface leads to spin-dependent degeneracy of the energy band, forming spin-polarized surface states. As a result, the interface serves as an effective medium for converting spin accumulation into two-dimensional charge current through the inverse Rashba-Edelstein effect. Exploring and assessing this spin-to-charge conversion (SCC) phenomenon at the FM/HM interface could offer a promising avenue to surpass the presumed limits of SCC in bulk HM layers. We utilize spintronic heterostructures as a platform to measure the spin-to-charge conversion (SCC) experienced by photoexcited spin currents. These heterostructures emit terahertz electric field when illuminated by femtosecond laser pulses, enabling us to quantitatively assess the ultrafast SCC process. Our results demonstrate a robust interfacial spin-to-charge conversion (iSCC) within a synthetic antiferromagnetic heterostructure, specifically for the NiFe/Ru/NiFe configuration, by isolating the SCC contribution originating from the interface itself, separate from the bulk heavy-metal (HM) region. Moreover, the iSCC at the NiFe/Ru interface is discovered to be approximately 27% of the strength observed in the highest spin-Hall conducting heavy-metal, Pt. Our results thus highlight the significance of interfacial engineering as a promising pathway for achieving efficient ultrafast spintronic devices. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Service-Orientation (SO) is a paradigm for developing collaboration platforms that promote services as reusable components. Service identification (SI) occurs earlier to identify patterns of a business process (BP) or model that can become software services. Although there exist several SI strategies, most are devised within the context of organizations with mature business processes and formalized structures. There is therefore a need for SI strategies that cater for the emerging heterogeneous and collaborative environments such as exists for small and micro enterprises (SMEs). This paper develops the Activity-based SI Framework (ASIF) from Activity-Theory using design science research (DSR) methods. Six collaboration attributes were elicited for SME;domain-oriented collaboration activity, actions of stakeholders towards the collaboration objective, heterogeneous stakeholders in a problem domain, autonomous actions of a participant, norms(rules) and structures(DOL), and interactive processes of stakeholders during collaboration. The framework is demonstrated using peer-to-peer collaborative lending activities of SMEs in Ethiopia called ‘EQUIB’. The findings show that the framework is promising in accurately guiding the identification of reusable and composable services in SME heterogeneous and collaborative contexts. © 2021, CC BY.

Small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can use their flexible maneuverability to effectively collect images of urban buildings, and use the current multi-view stereo method to generate advanced 3D urban models. But the quality of the generated 3D model largely depends on a flight plan. This paper proposes a method to automatically generate a rough 3D contour based on the 2D contour of the building extracted from the orthophoto of the drone, and plan a shooting viewpoint for 3D reconstruction based on the contour information. The optimized ant colony algorithm is used to plan the optimal power consumption cost path of the viewpoint, and the UE4 game engine is used to simulate the planning result. This method can effectively simplify the flight planning process and minimize the small UAV in the acquisition process The problem of excessive consumption caused by alternate lifting. © 2020 IEEE.

Employee performance assessment is the evaluation of the employee's performances recorded at the end of every month. This approach is currently used at the Military Court Office I-01 Banda Aceh. The main aim of this assessment is to measure employee's performances in achieving their targets. The results will be used as the measuring key, where an employee is only eligible to receive the allowance, if the targets are successfully fulfilled. At this moment, the assessment form has to be filled in manually by each employee, and they will be later assessed manually by the assessors. This manual process undeniably has many disadvantages, especially in terms of accuracy and efficiency. To solve this problem, the Employee Performance Information system was designed using the SMART (Simple Multi Attribute Technique). The assessments were based on eight indicators, i.e; performance, attendance, the proportion of performance targets, behavioral scores, number of tasks, services, overtime, and monthly rewards earned. The weights for each variable were assessed, and keyed into the system. The values for each variable were compared, and results were generated. In SMART, the weighting is measured as a scale between 0 and 10, thus it is easier to make calculations and comparison. The obtained results (SI-TUKIN) indicated that the system is capable of evaluating and analysing the employee's performances, quickly and effectively.

Currently, almost every nation struggles with the idea of smart cities to adopt city management. Several previous studies have produced many models to measure the quality of ISS. In previous studies, service quality and experience in smart city applications were measured and assessed. However, a few works still examine the service quality of the Smart District model, which varies quite strongly from the overall smart city concept. This research aims to assess the service quality of mobile-based smart regions or districts. The model and approach used are the E-Government Adoption Model (GAM). This model is a development of the previous model, such as technology adoption model (TAM), diffusion of innovation theory (DOI), and theory of prohibited behavior (TPB). Two hundred eighty-three participants interviewed succeeded in collecting data collection using online and offline survey methods, data processing using AMOS 24.0 software. Research findings show that the variables in the GAM model reflect a positive relationship and are significant in terms of quality measures for intelligent district services. This study contributes to explain the effective use of intelligent regional mobile devices. This research shows that governments and policymakers focus more on important issues affecting the quality of smart cellular service. © 2020 IEEE.

Integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) has emerged as a pivotal enabling technology for next-generation wireless networks. Despite the distinct signal design requirements of sensing and communication (S&C) systems, shifting the symbol-wise pulse shaping (SWiPS) framework from communication-only systems to ISAC poses significant challenges in signal design and processing This paper addresses these challenges by examining the ambiguity function (AF) of the SWiPS ISAC signal and introducing a novel pulse shaping design for single-carrier ISAC transmission. We formulate optimization problems to minimize the average integrated sidelobe level (ISL) of the AF, as well as the weighted ISL (WISL) while satisfying inter-symbol interference (ISI), out-of-band emission (OOBE), and power constraints. Our contributions include establishing the relationship between the AFs of both the random data symbols and signaling pulses, analyzing the statistical characteristics of the AF, and developing algorithmic frameworks for pulse shaping optimization using successive convex approximation (SCA) and alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) approaches. Numerical results are provided to validate our theoretical analysis, which demonstrate significant performance improvements in the proposed SWiPS design compared to the root-raised cosine (RRC) pulse shaping for conventional communication systems. Building a high-quality 3D face model is one of the important issues in computer graphics. High-fidelity 3D face model can be obtained through 3D reconstruction methods from measured data, but the reconstructed models are often flawed with missing measurement data. In order to improve the usability and robustness of the 3D face models, repair and optimization of the face model are critically important. The traditional solutions rely on geometric heuristics to complete repairing work. Considering the characteristics of the face, it is possible to utilize the semantic information to improve the quality of repairing process for the three-dimensional face models, thereby improving the accuracy of the repaired models. In this paper, we combine artificial intelligence and computer graphics methods, and proposes a feature extraction and matching of 3D face model method based on facial landmark detection. Our method combines the facial feature recognition algorithm of 2D facial image and the mapping relationship of 3D face mesh model, and realizes the function of semanticsegmentation and extraction of the 3D face model features. It can be used for the next step of 3D face mesh repair research. © 2020 IEEE.
