A very compact UWB monopole antenna with stable radiation pattern is presented. The antenna is constructed on FR4 with dielectric constant of 4.4 and 1.6 thickness. The antenna has a bandwidth of 4.2 - 11.2 GHz. The antenna impedance adjustment process in the UWB frequency range can be adjusted by optimizing the tapered side and linear tapered transformers. The antenna structure have the same radiator and ground plane width. A partial ground plane produces an antenna with a stable omnidirectional radiation pattern for all UWB frequency bands. The antenna gain also shows very stable with a maximum gain of 3.5 dBi.

Audio steganography applications using auditory features watermarking

Watermarking is a technique for hiding data or information on a digital multimedia (image, sound and video) and is not visible to the ordinary eye and is resistant to digitization (editing media, noising, blurring, etc.). While audio watermark is defined as a technique of hiding data or confidential information into an audio data for “boarding” (audio host), people do not aware of the existence of additional data on the data host. Coding phase is hiding data by exchanging the original phase of the initial segment of the sound signal with the absolute phase of the watermark signal, while maintaining the relative phase between the signal segments using different phase segments of the original signal. When the phase difference between the original signal and the modified signal is small, the difference in sound produced is not detected by human hearing. To recognize ownership of multimedia content, testing is done first by combining the cover and watermark files. Experiment result on audio files shows that audio files successfully compressed on 50% efficiency without reducing the duration of the audio. After compression process, One of our audio sample which size is 3.37MB can be reduce to 1.68MB without reducing the duration of the audio.

Collective knowledge is understood as the common knowledge state of a collective consisting of autonomous units. The knowledge states referred from these autonomous units to some degree reflect the real knowledge state of a subject in the real world, but it is not known to what degree because of incompleteness and uncertainty. Although collective knowledge determination is an important task because these knowledge states can be different from each other, there exists another important issue with its quality. The quality of collective knowledge is based on the difference between the real knowledge state and the collective knowledge. In this study, we investigate the influence of the number of collective members on the quality of collective knowledge. Through experimental analysis, the larger collective we use, the better the quality of collective knowledge will be. In other words, the large number of collective members positively affects the quality of collective knowledge. Besides, some theorems about the relationship between the collective knowledge and the knowledge states in a collective, the influence of adding or removing members on the quality of collective knowledge are also proved. © 2017 - IOS Press and the authors. Clustering is a process of sorting out a data set to become separate cluster groups and each has similarities, and aims to group the data into one cluster. This research aims to group the book information which is contained in Universitas Prima Indonesia, by using K-means clustering method. On this K-means clustering algorithm, the variables used as input are : NIM, Name, Book Title and Author. The output produced consists of 3 clusters, those are (C1) the most frequently borrowed book, (C2) book that is often borrowed, and (C3) book that is rarely borrowed. With the use of this K-means Clustering method, the final result obtained consists of member of cluster 1 as many as 19 members, member of cluster 2 as many as 22 members, and member of cluster 3 as many as 19 members. The information of grouping this book data can be used by the library. In the case of the selection of books that must be added to the library and to minimize the books that are rarely borrowed so as not to cause a buildup of books that are rarely borrowed, so there is a space for books to be added into the library.

In this paper, we propose an efficient pose machine using Parameter-Sensitive Hashing(PSH) techniques. Based on the original pose machine, which is a sequential prediction framework, we employ the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)to extract features. To handle the high dimensional feature vectors and conduct similarity search efficiently, we use the Parameter-Sensitive Hashing Function(PSHF) to map the feature vectors into binary values. The property of the PSHF ensures that the collisions happen when two vectors are near to each other and the search can be completed in a fractional power time. We apply our approach to the popular datasets including LSP and FLIC and make a comparison with previous methods based on a criterion of strict Percentage of Correct Parts(PCP).Experimental results reflect that our approach outperforms previous methods in accuracy.

To provide the seamless mobility in heterogeneous wireless networks two significant methods, Simulated annealing (SA) and genetic algorithms (GAs) are hybrid. In this paradigm, vertical handovers (VHs) are necessary for seamless mobility. In this paper, the hybrid algorithm has the ability to find the optimal network to connect with a good quality of service (QoS) in accordance with the user's preferences. The intelligent algorithm was developed to provide solutions near to real time and to avoid slow and considerable computations according to the features of the mobile devices. Moreover, a cost function is used to sustain the chosen QoS during transition between networks, which is measured in terms of the bandwidth, BER, ABR, SNR and monetary cost. Simulation results presented that choosing the SA rules would minimise the cost function and the GA-SA algorithm could reduce the number of unnecessary handovers, and thereby avoid the 'Ping-Pong' effect. Exotic quantum vacuum phenomena are predicted in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) systems with ultrastrong light-matter interactions. Their ground states are predicted to be vacuum squeezed states with suppressed quantum fluctuations. The source of such phenomena is antiresonant terms in the Hamiltonian, yet antiresonant interactions are typically negligible compared to resonant interactions in light-matter systems. We report an unusual, ultrastrongly coupled matter-matter system of magnons that is analytically described by a unique Hamiltonian in which the relative importance of resonant and antiresonant interactions can be easily tuned and the latter can be made vastly dominant. We found a novel regime where vacuum Bloch-Siegert shifts, the hallmark of antiresonant interactions, greatly exceed analogous frequency shifts from resonant interactions. Further, we theoretically explored the system's ground state and calculated up to 5.9 dB of quantum fluctuation suppression. These observations demonstrate that magnonic systems provide an ideal platform for exploring exotic quantum vacuum phenomena predicted in ultrastrongly coupled light-matter systems. Because of the wide use of smartphones in our daily activities, a wide range of mobile applications have been developed to serve as assistive technologies. However, there is a lack of applications in the Arabic language to assist disabled people. The main aim of this paper is to build a simple yet accurate Arabic language application that is capable of helping blind users in real-Time. In the proposed technology, the blind user captures a photo and records his/her voice inquiry. The query is instantly sent with the captured photo to a set of volunteers. The volunteers answer the blind user enquiries and send the answers back. Fifteen visually impaired persons and ten volunteers were used in the experimental testing. The scenarios were carefully created based on realistic situations. The subjects were then asked to answer a questionnaire to test if their queries were answered effectively and efficiently. The early results are promising because all blind users found the proposed technology useful and 80% of them wanted to use it on a daily basis. In addition, all volunteers found the application easy to use with clear instructions and 80% of them were excited about using it to assist blind users. We present some improvements on interpolation based control (IC) for linear discrete-time systems with polyhedral constraints on the control and the states variables. The plant may be uncertain, time-varying, and subject to bounded disturbances. Roughly speaking, IC approach is based on the interpolation between an inner and an outer controller. The extension presented here is twofold. On the one hand, the IC approach is extended to deal with higher order inner controllers, making it e.g. possible to incorporate integral action in a vicinity of the origin. On the other hand, this paper presents a modification that better exploits the control signal range. As with previous IC strategies, the presented method demands relatively low online computational resources, and is applicable also to uncertain plants. The benefits of the improved scheme are illustrated in some examples. © 2017
