Towards ontology driven semantic conflicts detection in web services at message level

One of the biggest problems for establishing semantic interoperability is semantic conflicts, which prevent seamless message exchange between heterogeneous Web services. Consequently, numerous work has been done to establish semantic interoperability by solving semantic conflicts. However, the current work has not reached its maturity level to solve this problem effectively. Therefore, this paper proposes a new ontology driven approach to detect semantic conflicts between heterogeneous Web services at message level. This new approach will advance the process of establishing semantic interoperability in order to allow heterogeneous Web services to exchange their messages seamlessly. The main purpose of our approach is to detect the potential conflicts that occur during message exchange process. Copyright © 2013, IGI Global.

In this work, we have performed sensitivity analysis on a large-scale dynamic metabolic network through MATLAB program. Time profile for sensitivity indices have been calculated for each kinetic parameters, based on percentage. The sensitivity analysis has been carried out on dynamic model for Glycolysis, Pentose Phosphate, TCA cycle, Gluconeogenesis, Glycoxylate pathways and Acetate formation of E. coli. The model implicates twenty four dynamic mass balance equations for extracellular glucose and intracellular, thirty kinetic rate expressions represent concentration profiles for whole a model. Each parameter has been scald one by one into 20% for the steady state condition. The former analysis has allowed identification of eight kinetic parameters as the most effective's ones on the complex metabolic network under study. © 2013 IEEE.

A secure self-destruction scheme with IBE for the internet content privacy

With the rapid emerging of novelty Web services and cloud services, privacy information and documents of users become increasingly easy to be exposed in the Internet. To tackle the issue of lifecycle security of the privacy information and documents in the Internet, in this paper, we propose the idea of combining the three security methods of multilevel security, identity-based encryption (IBE), and distributed hash table (DHT) network. And we further propose an IBE-based secure self-destruction (ISS) scheme to protect the confidentiality and privacy of the Internet content by self-destruction after a predefined time. In our proposed ISS security scheme, the Internet content is first partitioned into many segments with diverse security levels, and each segment is encrypted with a symmetric key to obtain primitive ciphertext. By applying the methods of association and extraction, the primitive ciphertext is turned to associated ciphertext, which is then divided into extracted ciphertext and encapsulated ciphertext. The latter is encapsulated into the Internet content self-destructing object (CDO), which is stored into the storage services provider. Furthermore, to protect the privacy security when the CDO expired, the symmetric key is encrypted using the IBE algorithm based on the identity of the authorized user. The combination of this key's ciphertext and the extracted ciphertext, by means of Lagrange polynomial processing, generates mixture ciphertext shares. Then those shares are distributed into nodes within the DHT network and will be automatically discarded over the deadline when the primitive ciphertext and the symmtric key are unrecoverable. Consequently, the ISS scheme achieves the aim of secure self-destruction. Comprehensive analysis shows that the ISS scheme is able to satisfy all the design demands and is more secure than existing schemes. Adaptively secure key-policy ABE scheme with fast decryption

In the existing adaptively secure ABE (attribute-based encryption) schemes, the decryption cost goes linearly with the number of attributes that are used in decryption. An adaptively secure key-policy ABE (FKP-ABE) scheme with fast decryption is proposed, where constant size of computation overhead is implemented in decryption. This scheme is constructed on composite order bilinear groups and supports any monotonic access structure that can be expressed by LSSS (linear secret sharing schemes). Tracing significant association rules using critical least association rules model

Mining of least association rules from large databases has received a great attention in knowledge discovery. These rules are very useful especially in tracing the unexceptional events or situations. Until this moment, the ratio of studies in this area is still unbalanced as compared to mine frequent rules. The difficulties level of mining these rules as compared to frequent rules are different since it involves with the excessive in computational costs, rather complicated and entailed a dedicated measurement. Therefore, this paper proposed an efficient model called critical least association rule (CLAR) to mine the significant rules so called critical least association rules. Several experiments with real and UCI datasets has shown that the CLAR successfully in producing the critical least association rules, up to 1.5 times faster and less 96% complexity than benchmarked FP-growth algorithm. © 2013 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Performance analysis on the effect of G.729, speex and GSM speech codec on 802.11g wireless local area network over VoIP using packet jitter

In this paper, three speech codecs;G.729 (8 kbps), Speex (8kbps) and GSM (13kbps) were tested together with several predetermined SNR value ranging from 10dB to 45dB with a sample of 8 second speech. VoIP QoS such as packet jitter is analyzed in order to make a comparison of speech quality of those three speech codecs in wireless LAN 802.11g environment. Result showsthat at lower SNR, GSM achieve higher packet jitter than that G.729 and Speex. At higher SNR, GSM achieves lower packet jitter as compared than that G.729 and Speex.

Towards Semantic Mutation Testing of Aspect-Oriented Programs

Aspect-oriented programs have received much attention from software testing researchers. Various testing techniques and approaches have been proposed to tackle issues and challenges when testing aspect-oriented programs including traditional mutation testing. In traditional mutation testing of aspect-oriented programs, mutants are generated by making small changes to the syntax of the aspect-oriented language. Recently, a new approach known as semantic mutation testing has been proposed. This approach mutates the semantics of the language in which the program is written. The mutants generated misunderstandings of the language which are different classes of faults. Aspect-oriented programming presents itself with different properties that can be further explored with respect to semantic mutation testing. This paper describes various possible scenarios that semantic mutation testing strategy might have particular value in testing aspect-oriented programs.

Modern software frameworks for Model-Based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies are proprietary and commonly restricts to a poor choice of domain specific languages. Furthermore, the interoperablity and model interchange support between frameworks is a technically hard challenge. The industrial strength standard OMG MOF (Meta-Object Facility) is a solid approach for the definition of domain specific languages. Applying meta-modeling techniques to existing modeling and simulation frameworks reduces obscurity of proprietarity and implicitely language characteristics. On the other hand, standard compliance improves product openness/transparency, reliability and confidence as for primary modes of operation. This paper presents a methodology to incorporate methods of meta-modeling and standard compliant domain specific languages in an existing modeling and simulation framework. First results are emerged and exemplified for an effective modeling dialect called MML (MLDesigner Modeling Language). Future prospects reviews already accomplished goals in this project, address several alternatives and improvements and gives an overview of ongoing development.

Analysis and validation using simulation is a helpful tool in systems engineering, but requires in-depth knowledge of various aspects of the system itself, the used model class(es), an appropriate software tool, and sometimes software engineering. Usually, this expertise is spread over a number of team members, and thus the development of a simulation-based system design tool is not a simple task. This paper presents a framework enabling the rapid development of extensible and reusable simulation-based applications. It supports an agile, iterative, evolutionary, and architecture-centric software development process. The design of the framework together with its components as well as the corresponding software development process is described. As an example, an environment for the configuration and analysis of wireless sensor network applications in the aeronautic domain is presented, which has been designed and implemented based on the proposed environment.

Wireless sensor network technologies can be used for industrial embedded system design to save cabling cost and weight. However, their environment, architecture, and design issues are quite different from original sensor network applications. Simulation tools and system design environments have to be adapted to the special requirements, such as operational modes and phases which influence the system. This paper presents a more detailed wireless sensor network to check against the application requirements concerning QoS, reliability, and lifetime. An avionics application example is presented.
