Transformation in procurement technique aims to create a sustainability development and innovative outsourcing strategy. It can increase the probability of project success with quality and give an added value in money and contract times. Wide range of issues should be considered in producing a sincere and trusted decision within respective agencies. Our research proposed a procurement transformation model for selecting the optimal result of contractor selection under multi criteria environments. The corresponding data are centralizing, easy to manage and can be updated accordingly. Fuzzy comparing judgment is used as the method to overcome the ambiguity aspects in selecting significant preferences by decision maker regarding to the subjective opinion. Decision making process is represented by the integration of evaluation model to produce a final result. Finally, the model was tested in tender evaluation processes to determine the most beneficial contractor to perform the construction project.

In this paper, we present an alternative approach for analyzing performance and monitoring of unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) through a Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation. This approach is started by defined a mathematical model of kinematic-dynamic forces apply and sensor-actuator model that integrated in UGV for simulation. A novel hardware control architecture was built to meet the HIL simulation method. Both simulation model and hardware configurations are provided by MATLAB/simulink toolboxes. To verify the HIL system, 2 small fields was built for the real test. Moreover 3D virtual model of UGV and the environment test field was developed to ease the system monitoring. Finally from the tracking system, results show that the HIL simulation method combined with the real environment produce more information of parameter that influenced during the tests given.

Discrete Event Simulation (DES) is a popular technique use in network simulation tools. Some of the popular queuing methods in DES are linked list, heap, splay tree and calendar based queue. Due to the design characteristic of discrete events and single sequential queue in DES, these queuing methods are unable to fully utilize the computing power of multi-core processors. This paper proposes Multi-Dimensional Queue Mechanism (MDQM) to counter the stated problem. The experimental results show improvement of simulation run time by using the proposed mechanism when running DES on multi-core processors environments.

The representation of input data set is important for learning task. In data summarization, the representation of the multi-instances stored in non-target tables that have many-to-one relationship with record stored in target table influences the descriptive accuracy of the summarized data. If the summarized data is fed into a classifier as one of the input features, the predictive accuracy of the classifier will also be affected. This paper proposes an evolutionary-based feature construction approach namely Fixed-Length Feature Construction with Substitution (FLFCWS) to address the problem by means of optimizing the feature construction for relational data summarization. This approach allows initial features to be used more than once in constructing newly constructed features. This is performed in order to exploit all possible interactions among attributes which involves an application of genetic algorithm to find a relevant set of features. The constructed features will be used to generate relevant patterns that characterize non-target records associated to the target record as an input representation for data summarization process. Several feature scoring measures are used as fitness function to find the best set of constructed features. The experimental results show that there is an improvement of predictive accuracy for classifying data summarized based on FLFCWS approach which indirectly improves the descriptive accuracy of the summarized data. It shows that FLFCWS approach can generate promising set of constructed features to describe the characteristics of non-target records for data summarization.

Maintenance is crucial to ensure delivered software continues to meet its end users' evolving needs mainly among Web applications' users. Many approaches and tools have been developed for handling modification requests, of which is the first step of the change management process. However, they lack of functionality to facilitate end users to specify their requests. This limitation causes problems not only to the end users, but to the maintainers as well, who need to understand the requests thoroughly before making any changes. We propose a user-centered technique to support the maintenance process by managing and tracking the modification requests effectively. This paper reports the implementation of the proposed technique as a tool and includes its adoption on a Web application. Initial case study shows that the tool is able to support end users to specify their requests easily and quickly, and maintainers to handle the requests effectively.

This paper suggest a different way to get telemetry and visualization data from unmanned vehicle. A simple system architecture called JOMS (JOystick Modified system) is proposed to get those data. With the help of joystick, RC controller and simulink toolbox from MATLAB, the information from unmanned vehicle that associated with rotary and moving principle could be translated into useful data from the unmanned vehicle. Here, potentiometer from the joystick that acts as a variable resistor has been modified. The signals from joystick that interfaced on simulink are processed with some applied mathematical calibration regarding the functionality for certain condition of unmanned vehicle. To verify, the system module has been integrated both on unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) and unmanned air vehicle (UAV) for testing. Moreover, 3D virtual model was developed to ease the unmanned vehicle operator. Finally JOMS, the system architecture proposed successfully suggest a different way to get telemetry and visualization data from unmanned vehicle.

Multimodal biometric system is the system to prevent a fraudulent attack. The fusion of physical and behavioral modalities can support the needs of the prevention. Thus, we proposed to fuse face and signature as the modalities. In order to get higher performance accuracy, the biometrics is fused at the feature level fusion. LDA is used in order to get the compatible feature vector and in low dimensionality. Multilayer Perceptron is used as the classification technique. The result is evaluated based on GAR, FAR and FRR. The proposed technique able to achieve the GAR of 90%-98.75% depends on the training time and the FAR of below than 10%. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can achieve the main objective of multimodal biometric system and the advantages of the feature level fusion. © 2012 ICIC International.

Function Point Analysis (FPA) measurement method was proposed primarily to measure the functional size of management information systems. The method has been criticized as an inadequate method to measure the functional size of Real Time (RT) applications. Many extensions have been made to the original method to extend its applicability to size RT applications. The Common software Measurement International Consortium (COSMIC) designed COSMIC function point measurement method to meet the requirement of measuring a wider scope of software domains, particularly, RT applications. This paper aims to derive a convertibility equation between the two methods for small-size RT applications. A systematic conversion approach was applied using two types of conversion (using the unadjusted FPA size and transaction functions size) using 13 small-size RT applications, considering the quality of requirements, via linear and non-linear regression models. The results show that RT applications have a varied functional size for processes, in which FPA method could not quantify it adequately, mainly because of the FPA weighting system tables and the inadequate representation of data files. Moreover, the results show that there is a significant correlation between the two methods, but the conversion factor is slightly larger than the previous studies, in which the conversion factor is more than 1. However, some limitations of FPA method rules relative to RT applications cast some doubts on the possibility to extend the conversion for larger applications size.

Functional Size Measurement (FSM) has been widely adopted by software organizations over the past years. In particular, Function Point Analysis (FPA) measurement method as the eldest and the most globally FSM method used. In the middle of 90s, COSMIC measurement method was designed to cover the limitations of previous FSM methods, and to size wider scope of application domains. COSMIC measurement method had received special attention due to its novelties and merits it offers. In this respect, many organizations have moved from using FPA to the COSMIC measurement method, mainly because FPA cannot size as many software project types as COSMIC. Since there have been many projects sized with FPA are available in various databases, researchers undertook to compare the Unadjusted FPA (UFP) size and COSMIC Function Point (CFP) size unit statistically, towards converting FPA data in to its corresponding value in CFP. In the literature, there is only one conversion model that converts the size at the level of Basic Functional Components (BFCs) between the two methods. This paper examines the accuracy of the conversion model that converts the size at the level of BFCs. Moreover, this paper presents a theoretical and probabilistic conversion model that converts the FPA transaction functions size to the most likely corresponding CFP size at the level of BFCs. The proposed model considers the primary intent and the processing logic forms of each FPA transaction function BFC, measurement best practices and COSMIC method rules. The proposed model has been validated using 14 industrial business applications. The model was found to adequately and high accurately convert all the projects tested precisely. The model might be useful for companies that are using both methods or planning to adopt the COSMIC method as a conversion or validation procedure.
