The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the criticality of timely intervention in a situation exacerbated by a shortage in medical staff and equipment. Pain-level screening is the initial step toward identifying the severity of patient conditions. Automatic recognition of state and feelings help in identifying patient symptoms to take immediate adequate action and providing a patient-centric medical plan tailored to a patient's state. In this paper, we propose a framework for pain-level detection for deployment in the United Arab Emirates and assess its performance using the most used approaches in the literature. Our results show that a deployment of a pain-level deep learning detection framework is promising in identifying the pain level accurately. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

In this paper we propose an improved recipe recommendation system that employs image recognition of food ingredients. The system is currently a mobile application that performs image recognition on uploaded or camera-captured images and recommends recipes containing the recognized ingredients. We used the ResNet-V2 architecture to build a convolutional neural network model for image recognition, which was able to identify 33 different food ingredients with an accuracy rate of 89%. The recommendation system uses the identified ingredient labels, as well as user preferences and restrictions, to display a list of recipes containing the identified ingredients. This feature allows users to discover new and exciting recipes based on the ingredients they currently have at home, without having to worry about dietary restrictions or other preferences. Overall, our system provides a convenient and personalized way for users to discover and prepare delicious meals based on their unique needs and preferences.

The usage of online entertainment has increased dramatically after some time with the enhancement of the Internet and has turned into the most compelling systems administration stage in this century. This article is devoted to the research and development of innovative two-factor authentication (2FA) methods using neural networks. 2FA plays a key role in ensuring the security of data and accounts in the modern digital world, and the use of neural networks opens up new prospects in strengthening protection and improving the user experience. The article presents an analysis of existing 2FA methods, identifies their limitations, and discusses the advantages of using neural networks in this area. The main focus is on the development of new authentication algorithms based on deep learning, providing effective anomaly detection and support for a dynamic adaptive approach. In the context of the article, the issues of privacy and data security are also considered, as well as the possibilities of applying the developed methods in various fields, including finance, medicine and the Internet of Things. The results of the study represent a significant contribution to the field of digital. © 2024 IEEE.

Automating the monitoring of the roads would mean safer roads for both car drivers and pedestrians. The objectives of the system were to build a real time surveillance system for intelligent roads of the future. The system should be able to detect lane lines, cars, pedestrians and other moving vehicles on the road. In case a car goes off its course, the system should report it as an accident. Relying on machine learning technology, a real time detection based neural network was constructed to be trained on picking up objects in any given scene like cars, buses, pedestrians, bikes and motor bikes. Also, an algorithm was designed to detect lane lines and highlight them on the screen using image processing techniques and edge detection. The system achieved its main required target which is being able to detect objects in almost real time. © 2021 ACM.

The problem of detecting top influential users in social networks is known as the influence maximization problem. Top social network influencers play a significant role in different fields like virtual marketing, politics, and public health. There are various techniques and methods implemented to identify the top influential users for maximizing the influence within social networks. There exist, however, a real challenge to effectively reach those top influential users with both high accuracy and less computational time. This paper proposes an efficient approach for the problem of influence maximization based on communities' identification. A proposed approach LCS includes three stages: firstly, the application of the Louvain community detection algorithm to detect the different communities of the social network graph. Secondly, executing the CRANK algorithm to rank and sort the generated communities-based CRANK main four metrics. Finally, the selection of the top seed nodes from the sorted communities using degree centrality. Experimental results conducted on three social network datasets, under an Independent Cascade model for verification, show the effectiveness of the proposed approach compared to the centrality-based heuristics. Additionally, comparable results are achieved against greedy algorithms with far less time complexity. © 2021 IEEE.

Hardware Verification of Deep Learning Accelerators (DLAs) has become critically important for testing the reliability and trustworthiness of Learning Enabled Autonomous systems (LEAS). In this paper, we introduce a scalable, reusable, and efficient hardware verification framework for DLAs using the Universal verification methodology (UVM). The verification environment is focused on testing the inference functionality of the perception module in LEAS for different DLA designs. Moreover, the verification environment is portable across simulation and hardware-assisted verification platforms for emulation and FPGA prototyping. To assess our proposed UVM design methodology, we have applied it to the Nvidia Deep Learning Accelerator (NVDLA), an open-source core for DLAs as a case study.

We suggest a new quantum-like approach to study distributed intelligence systems (DIS) consisting of natural (owners) and artificial (avatars) intelligence agents organized in a scale-free network. We demonstrate the complex features of social impact in DIS that imply the hierarchical formation of opinion leaders in the network and their topological protection. We elucidated the effect of significant narrowing of the spread of opinions within the network when most owners chose their position as limiting (extreme).

Frequently, individuals undergo specific episodes of mental health challenges throughout their lifetime. But the COVID pandemic has triggered a surge in mental health disorders arising from isolation, monotonous routines, demanding workloads, financial disparities, and disruptions to daily schedules. Furthermore, the global pandemic has induced constant anxiety and stress. Beyond the pandemic, the competition and intense pressure of the modern world impact mental health. Access to advanced mental health solutions and the necessary familiarity remain limited for most of the population. Given the integration of technology into daily life, diverse remedies, including mobile and web applications, have emerged to tackle the escalating challenge of mental health disorders. This study proposes an accessible and cost-effective approach that employs machine learning to detect stress levels and discern user emotions from journal entries and facial expressions while integrating self-journaling, video recommendations, and visual content generation to stimulate positive emotions and relieve stress.
