With the increasing volume of smartphones, computers, and sensors in the Internet of Things (IoT) model, enhancing security and preventing ransom attacks have become a major concern. Traditional security mechanisms are no longer applicable due to the involvement of devices with limited resources, which require more computing power and resources. Ransomware is comparatively a new and cruel malware in cyberspace with higher rates of attacks around the world. Ransomware could encrypt entire data to make users unable to access their files and important information. In some cases, the system has been hostage completely by the hackers, and the user may receive a demand for ransom money using different resources o access of his/her own data/system. One of the problems associated with the Internet of Things is how to keep your smartphones secure and keep your data safe as most of the antivirus solutions are not useful in this case. This research concludes the impact of ransomware on the IoT, malware processes, and work on detecting and monitoring smartphone infections. The paper also discusses ransomware awareness to end-user with strategy to defeat it. © 2020 IEEE.

A Unified Graph-Theoretic Framework for Free-Fermion Solvability

We show that a quantum spin system has an exact description by non-interacting fermions if its frustration graph is claw-free and contains a simplicial clique. The frustration graph of a spin model captures the pairwise anticommutation relations between Pauli terms of its Hamiltonian in a given basis. This result captures a vast family of known free-fermion solutions. In previous work, it was shown that a free-fermion solution exists if the frustration graph is either a line graph, or (even-hole, claw)-free. The former case generalizes the celebrated Jordan-Wigner transformation and includes the exact solution to the Kitaev honeycomb model. The latter case generalizes a non-local solution to the four-fermion model given by Fendley. Our characterization unifies these two approaches, extending generalized Jordan-Wigner solutions to the non-local setting and generalizing the four-fermion solution to models of arbitrary spatial dimension. Our key technical insight is the identification of a class of cycle symmetries for all models with claw-free frustration graphs. We prove that these symmetries commute, and this allows us to apply Fendley's solution method to each symmetric subspace independently. Finally, we give a physical description of the fermion modes in terms of operators generated by repeated commutation with the Hamiltonian. This connects our framework to the developing body of work on operator Krylov subspaces. Our results deepen the connection between many-body physics and the mathematical theory of claw-free graphs. This article proposes a new technique to solve optimization problems based on barnacles’ mating behavior namely Barnacles Mating Optimizer (BMO). Barnacles are micro-organisms existed since Jurassic times and they attach themselves to objects in the water and grow shell. They are also known as hermaphroditic micro-organisms and one of the special characters of barnacles is they have long penises which is the longest in animal kingdom relative to their body size. The Hardy-Weinberg principle is adopted in BMO to generate new off-springs and the mating process is performed randomly based on the length of the barnacle’s penis. The effectiveness of BMO is tested through a set of 23 benchmark functions in finding the optimal solutions. Some impactful and reliable results are presented compared with other techniques in this paper. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper present load balancing technique in a heterogeneous environment allows the usage for geographically widely distributed and multi-owner resources to solve large-level application, usage of load balancing algorithms was important to keep maintaining the balance of workload between emerged infrastructures like grid. This replication generally referred as mechanism to improve availability and performance in distributed databases especially handling fragmented database replication becomes demanding issue. Intended in this paper we address various kinds of load balancing algorithms for the heterogeneous network like grid, especially Binary Vote Assignment Grid Quorum (BVAGQ) and to identify various metric and gaps between them. Many load balancing algorithms are already implemented which work against various issues like heterogeneity, scalability, etc. Different load balancing algorithms for the grid environment work on various metrics such as make span, time, average resource utilization rate, communication overhead, reliability, stability, and fault tolerance. This paper is the current approach database security of organization need layers of security around their data, with each layer protecting a specific area. The current trend of security attack is targeting any valuable data stored in a database such as financial data and student mark, including data theft, data modification or replay and data disruption. To understand how the system works, the system setting and the weaknesses of Enterprise Distributed Database. This paper is about the design and development to secure database access, a framework based on packet and content filtering on IP address, port and SQL statement. And simulate the framework and design database security framework. We address how to build the outcome of this is to reduce the risk of data manipulation and reduce the impact of internal threat and malicious insiders. In this paper classification of mental task-root Brain-computer Interfaces (BCI) is being investigated, as those are a dominant area of investigations in BCI and are of utmost interest as these systems can be augmented life of people having severe disabilities. The BCI model's performance is primarily dependent on the size of the feature vector, which is obtained through multiple channels. In the case of mental task classification, the availability of training samples to features are minimal. Very often, feature selection is used to increase the ratio for the mental task classification by getting rid of irrelevant and superfluous features. This paper proposes an approach to select relevant and non-redundant spectral features for the mental task classification. This can be done by using four very known multivariate feature selection methods viz, Bhattacharya's Distance, Ratio of Scatter Matrices, Linear Regression and Minimum Redundancy & Maximum Relevance. This work also deals with a comparative analysis of multivariate and univariate feature selection for mental task classification. After applying the above-stated method, the findings demonstrate substantial improvements in the performance of the learning model for mental task classification. Moreover, the efficacy of the proposed approach is endorsed by carrying out a robust ranking algorithm and Friedman's statistical test for finding the best combinations and comparing different combinations of power spectral density and feature selection methods. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.

ABSTRACTOpen Learner Model (OLM) visualisations capture and display a learner’s learning state such as knowledge levels, learning progress, and misconceptions. Exposing learners to their own models offers learners a perspective about their learning state. Numerous benefits have been reported include providing more opportunities for learners to collaborate, enhancing learning outcomes, and prompting learners to be more self-regulated. We describe a new independent OLM tool, Doubtfire++ that we have designed to support Task-Oriented Portfolio teaching to raise student awareness of their progress and achievements, and to encourage self-regulated learning. The results of our evaluation show that Doubtfire++ helped the teaching staff in creating a supportive learning environment and students felt supported and rewarded for learning in a self-regulated manner. We have identified several OLM visualizations that were perceived to assist self-regulated learning. We also have gained insightful inputs and feedback that lead to expanding its application to a broader context.

The number of internet users with E-Learning models offered in high educational institutions has increased rapidly with the beginning of this century. However, with the increment in number of higher education in the universities, the learner needs more flexibility to attend lesions and easy participate in communication. Therefore, E-Learning is one of the ways provide an accessibility and flexibility to more learners to overcome the far distance of locations or different cultures or timing management for achieving student satisfaction. This paper aims to analyze the current studies on benefits of E-Learning of student satisfaction on the technologies applied and type of blended learning used in learning process to get better qualified learners and to improve the student learning outcomes. The method based on showing different types of E-Learning strategies and the way that allowed learners and faculties to communicate using the common communication models. The finding of this paper shows analytical studies results and their positive evidence with student satisfaction on E-Learning models. © 2019 IEEE.

Energy is essential for human existence, and its high consumption is a growing concern in today's technology-driven society. Global initiatives aim to reduce energy consumption and pollution by developing and deploying energy-efficient sensing technologies for long-term monitoring, control, automation, security, and interactions. Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) benefit a lot from the continuous monitoring capabilities of these sensing devices, which include medical sensors worn on or implanted in the human body for healthcare monitoring. Despite significant advancements, achieving energy efficiency in WBANs remains a significant challenge. A deep understanding of the WBAN architecture is essential to identify the causes of its energy inefficiency and develop novel energy-efficient solutions. We investigate energy efficiency issues specific to WBANs. We discuss the transformative impact that artificial intelligence and Machine Learning (ML) can have on achieving the energy efficiency of WBANs. Additionally, we explore the potential of emerging technologies such as quantum computing, nano-technology, biocompatible energy harvesting, and Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) in enabling energy efficiency in WBANs. We focus on WBANs' architecture, hardware, and software components to identify key factors responsible for energy consumption in the WBAN environment. Based on our comprehensive review, we introduce an innovative, energy-efficient three-tier architecture for WBANs that employs ML and edge computing to overcome the limitations inherent in existing energy-efficient solutions. Finally, we summarize the lessons learned and highlight future research directions that will enable the development of energy-efficient solutions for WBANs.

Efficient feature selection analysis for accuracy malware classification

Android is designed for mobile devices and its open-source software. The growth and popularity of android platform are high compared to another platform. Due to its glory, the number of malware has been increasing exponentially. Android system used a permission mechanism to allow users and developers to manage their access to private information, system resources, and data storage required by Android applications (apps). It became an advantage to an attacker to violent the data. This paper proposes a novel framework for Android malware detection. Our framework used three major methods for effective feature representation on malware detection and used this method to classify malware and benign. The result demonstrates that the Random forest is with 23 features is more accurate detection than the other machine learning algorithm.
