Wireless technology is developing very fast. Most of the researchers are working in the field of wireless communication. VANET is an evolving technology in the field of wireless communication and with the advancement it will contribute more to the smart transportation system in days to come. VANET gives a communication framework that has enhanced the traffic service and helped in reducing the road accidents. Data sharing in this system is time sensitive and require quick and vigorous network connection forming. VANET is serving the said purposes but there are some issues and challenges like efficient handling of fast handovers for video streaming applications. Therefore, in this paper we have reviewed and discussed several studies related to the routing protocols to judge which one is the best for video applications in VANET. Moreover, after studying different systems made by the researchers, we have critically analyzed them and found advantages and disadvantages for the future works. Also, simulation is performed to check the delays and throughput comparisons between the routing protocols. Furthermore, with the experiments we have proven that the AODV performance is better than the other ad-hoc protocols in VANET environment. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The performance of meta-heuristic algorithms highly depends on their exploitation and exploration techniques. In the past 30 years, many meta-heuristic algorithms have been developed which adopts different exploitation and exploration techniques. Several studies reported that the hybrid of meta-heuristics algorithms often perform better than its corresponding original algorithm. This paper presents a new hybrid algorithm;called Learning Cuckoo Search (LCS) strategy based on the integration student phase from Teaching Learning based Optimization (TLBO) Algorithm. To evaluate the developed algorithm, we use the problem of t-way test generation as our case study. The experiment results show that LCS has better performance as compared as to the original Cuckoo Search as well many other existing strategies. © 2018, The Author(s).

Automobile based firms involve enterprises that deal with the sale of cars products from different manufactures. Hence, over the years several studies have contributed to e-businesses, but at the moment there are fewer studies that have contributed to improving e-sourcing operation in automobile based firms. Therefore, this paper aims to develop an innovative e-sourcing system for automobile based firms based on Model View Control (MVC) architecture to facilitate procurement operation among consumers and sales staffs. The developed system aims to lessen the labor of sales staff thus decreasing manual task carried out. Additionally, the proposed tool substitutes the manual approach by facilitating administration in the form of automating automobile data. The tool also aids in managing and retaining of clients' data. Furthermore, the developed tool facilitate customers in viewing catalog of new automobile products and ordering new automobile products from several automobile manufacturers such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc., whenever they want to without visiting the company. Additionally, the developed innovative e-sourcing system was evaluated using questionnaire data to validate the applicability of tool in maintaining automobile products order between the customer and sales staff based on data from 50 respondents. Hence, statistical analysis was employed to examine the dataset utilizing Microsoft Excel. Results from the analyzed data reveal that the developed innovative e-sourcing system is applicable in supporting sales of automobile based products. © 2018 IEEE.

Wireless technology is advancing rapidly with time. People are doing research nowadays mostly in the field of telecommunication. VANET is the most growing research area in wireless communication. With the advancement and maturity of the VANET, there will be a great revolution in the field of wireless communication in terms of fast handovers, network availability, security, safety with the use of advanced applications etc. VANET technology is advancing with the passage of time but there are many issues that has to be addressed to make the network more vigorous. In view of aforesaid, in this paper we have studied and discussed various research works related to the applications, protocols and security in VANET. Moreover, after reviewing the existing works, we have analyzed them and found the pros and cons for the future research. © 2018 IEEE.

Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a tool widely used to describe startup business models. Despite the various business aspects described, BMC pays a little emphasis on team-related factors. The importance of team-related factors in software development has been acknowledged widely in literature. While not as extensively studied, the importance of teams in software startups is also known in both literature and among practitioners. In this paper, we propose potential changes to BMC to have the tool better reflect the importance of the team, especially in a software startup environment. Based on a literature review, we identify various components related to the team, which we then further support with empirical data. We do so by means of a qualitative case study of five startups. Automated Toll Collection System (ATCS) is one of the technologies to fulfill the Intelligent Transportation System's (ITS) aim in providing an efficient road and transportation infrastructure at the expressway. This paper is aimed to provide an accurate and efficient ATCS based on a vehicle type classification method rather than the current implementation of toll collection that rely on sensor-based and human observation. To fulfill the aim, we proposed to implement SF-CNNLS framework to extract vehicle's features and classify it into class 1 (passenger vehicle), class 2 (lorry) and class 4 (taxi). This ATCS is aimed to enhance the efficiency of the toll collection in Malaysia. The biggest challenge in this research is how to discriminate features of class 4 as a different class of class 1 since both classes have almost identical features. However, with our proposed method, we able to classify the vehicle with the average accuracy of 90.83 %. We tested our method using a frontal view of a vehicle from the self-obtained database (SPINT) taken using mounted-camera at the toll booth and compare the classification performance with a benchmark database named BIT. © 2018 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper explains risk assessment for circuit breaker utilization by using failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA). The circuit breaker components are divided into three main parts such as live part, operating mechanism and insulation, and control device. FMECA is analyzed to 4 groups such as finance, safety, environment and efficiency. Finally, criticality is categorized into 4 levels such as low level, medium level, high level and highest risk level. Data collection and analysis were performed. The results of the criticality analysis will assist in making maintenance resource management decisions in order to avoid damage to the system with efficient usage of available or limited resources.

Owing to the significance of combinatorial search strategies both for academia and industry, the introduction of new techniques is a fast growing research field these days. These strategies have really taken different forms ranging from simple to complex strategies in order to solve all forms of combinatorial problems. Nonetheless, despite the kind of problem these approaches solve, they are prone to heavy computation with the number of combinations and growing search space dimensions. This paper presents a new approach to speed up the generation and search processes using a combination of stack and hash table data structures. This approach could be put to practice for the combinatorial approaches to speed up the generation of combinations and search process in the search space. Furthermore, this new approach proved its performance in diverse stages better than other known strategies. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper presents condition assessment of high voltage equipment and substation as health index. Major equipment of high voltage substation consists of circuit breaker, disconnecting switch, current transformer, voltage transformer and surge arrester. The condition of equipment is assessed by visual inspection and electrical test. The weighting and scoring method is applied throughout the process of health index calculation. The Analytic Hierarchy Process is used to calculate the weight for each criterion. The conditional score and its weight of each testing are used to calculate the weighting average score. Then, the obtained weighting average score is adjusted by visual inspection, maintenance completeness and failure rate of equipment. The adjusted average score of all equipment in a bay is integrated into bay health index and subsequently adjusted by age and operational stress of bay. Finally, the health index of fifteen substations can be determined. © 2019 IEEE.
