This paper discussed the most commonly used similarity measures in Collaborative Filtering (CF) recommender system. In addition, the author introduced some recommendations related to CF system quality improvement which should be considered in the process of formulating similarity measure that may lead to alleviating the issue of data sparsity and some existing measures shortcomings. Generally, CF approach is one of the most widely used and most successful methods for the recommendation system, such as e-commerce. CF system introduced items to the user based on his/her previous ratings and the ratings of his/her neighbors. Therefore, the most important stage in CF system is locating the successful neighbor. Nevertheless, the sparsity of data is the major issue faced by the memory-based CF. The reason behind this is that many of the users rated a few number of items from the huge number of available items. This has encouraged many researchers to provide solutions. One of these solutions was by proposing or updating similarities measures take in considerations the global information preference, all ratings provided by users, the size of common ratings, and so on. In this work, the researcher discussed these measures alongside with their limitations. In addition, the researcher also listed some advices that are important in the process of locating successful neighbors, which may help researchers to improve the quality of CF system. © 2017 Association for Computing Machinery.

Fingerprint image watermarking techniques have several advantages over traditional security systems that based on token or knowledge. However, they are also vulnerable to attacks that can decrease their security. In this regard, this paper presents a study of a number of research studies on the attacks of fingerprint images watermarking techniques. The attacks can be categorized into intentional and unintentional. We study several attacks based on that category and several fingerprint image watermarking methods. We produce a comprehensive comparison of those methods to show how the methods able to prevent the attacks. We also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the methods. Therefore, based on that, we can see what are the common attacks on the fingerprint image and what are the methods that efficient in preventing the attacks.

Project Management is management processes that cover all the activities within a project. Its effectiveness is known throughout the information technology industry. However, the implementation of project management standards is still rarely seen, especially in higher learning institute. We intend to identify the application of project management standards leads to software project success in the higher learning institute. We conducted a survey questionnaire to collect our data. The respondents are from higher learning institute who involved in information technology field. As a conclusion, although part of the respondents does not use any standards, majority of the respondents agreed that activities within project management contribute to project success.

Nowadays, the movement control is troublesome for the expanding traffic. The quick addition in vehicular excursions without relating growing in street space is achieving generous blockage in various parts. This makes trouble for the emergency vehicles such as ambulance, fire emergency and VIP vehicles to travel through the congested traffic. By analyzing different proposed systems, another arrangement can be actualized by making the traffic lights somewhat wise. To this issue, a framework utilizing computational intelligence is proposed to assign clear path for the emergency vehicles with the utilization of RF transponder and microcontroller. The significant part of this work is focused on reducing the inertness of the emergency vehicles with least interruption to customary traffic stream.

This paper proposes a system that is capable of detecting, recognizing and indicating traffic signs to the driver to provide a safe and convenient driving experience. The system is composed of three phases;image pre-processing phase, detection phase and recognition phase. Image pre-processing phase deals with image segmentation that is employed to enhance the images to obtain clearer information under variable lighting conditions. During the detection phase, the objective is to find traffic signs in the input image frames and to return the regional coordinates of detected signs. In order to detect traffic signs, a cascade classifier was trained to analyse the frame and to detect signs in each frame. In the recognition phase, a multiclass support vector machine image category classifier was trained to recognize and alert the driver. The system comprised of these phases is capable of detecting, recognizing and alerting traffic signs with 98.6% accuracy while the vehicle is moving at a speed in the range of 40-45 km/h. © 2017 IEEE.

The issues of modelling software agents in collaborative systems present some problems and difficulties caused by the diversity of tasks and the procedures attached to them. Consequently, such diversity poses a critical challenge to implement scheduled tasks. In this paper, we propose collaborative human-agent system in which a software agent collaborates and cooperates with its human counterpart in several job positions of an organization. The goal of the GNA approach is to improve collaboration between humans when performing tasks within a workflow process. The GNA is built based on the concept of a node which comprises of a human, agents, and their shared functions. This concept espouses the notion that agents could be deployed to assist humans in many common workflow processes and to handle mundane tasks. Furthermore, a multi-agent system is advocated as an application or platform for managing distributed data. Specifically, this paper describes a conceptual design of a generic approach based on the notion of nodes to construct a Generic Nodal Abstraction (GNA) approach that is deployable as a modeling and simulation platform for organizational processes.

Risk factors affecting the construction projects in the developing countries

This review focused on the identification of critical risk factors that influence the construction projects conducting in the developing countries. In order to attain this goal, a comprehensive literature review on risk management of the construction projects, particularly emphasizing on the developing countries was carried out. The identified risk factors can be a lead to achieve the goals of the project which includes time, cost and quality. This review used specific criteria to extract the risks factors based on the main purpose of the study. A sum total of 111 risk factors were figured out from the previous studies. Based on the criteria used for the classifications, 56 risk factors were observed as the most crucial risk factors influencing the construction projects of developing countries.

With the rapid development of the information technologies in the financial field, extracting meaningful information from a massive amount of data is hugely significant for efficient business decision making. The recommendation system is an intelligent system that applies historical knowledge of users to infer their preferences and make a personalized recommendation. However, it suffers from the problem of time effect of user's behaviour, which means a user's interests may change over time. To overcome this problem, we propose a time effect based collaborative filtering approach to adaptively statistics the change of user preferences. Firstly, Item-based collaborative filtering is used to calculate rating similarity between items. Since an Item-based collaborative filtering algorithm doesn't consider the time effect; next, the time decay function is proposed to statistics the change of user interests. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme retained higher accuracy compare to traditional collaborative filtering method.

The desire to share and unite remote digital assets motivated the development of the classical internet, the enabler of the entire 21st century economy and our modern way of life. As we enter the quantum era, it is to be expected there will be a similar demand for networking quantum assets, motivating a global quantum internet for bringing together the world's quantum resources, leveraging off their exponential trajectory in capability. We present models for quantum networking, how they might be applied in the future, and the implications they will have. Socially, economically, politically and geostrategically, the upcoming era of quantum supremacy will be as significant for the 21st century as the transistor was for the 20th. The inherently different scaling in the computational power of quantum computers fundamentally changes the dynamics of how they will operate in the future. Given their high expected initial cost, a client/server model for outsourcing computation will be essential for enabling the accessibility and proliferation of this technology, and ensuring its economic viability. We therefore anticipate the emergence of cloud quantum computing, a model for outsourcing quantum computations to the network. We argue that economic efficiency will mandate that all future quantum computers be united into a single global virtual quantum computer, offering exponentially more power to all network participants than if they were to keep their resources to themselves. This model for the allocation of computational resources is uniquely quantum, with no classical analogue, completely altering the economic landscape for the future of computation. Given the sensitivity of much of the data to which future quantum computers are going to foreseeably be applied, protocols for encrypted quantum computation will be essential - the outsourcing of computations that neither an eavesdropper nor even the server performing the computation can spy upon. software development industry is inventing new development methodologies in last 10 years for improving the existing developing tools, process and delivering a high-quality software to end customer in short time. In recent year's waterfall development becomes less attractive in the software industry and shifted its attention towards the new software development methodologies such as agile. Agile brought the new dimension to software development and improved the development, testing process and added new challenges. There are different agile development methodologies in practice such as Scrum, FDD, Kanban, DSDM, XP, ASD, Lean, and Crystal, all these have different approaches in software development but share the same principle of the agile. Nowadays software development process adopted a new number of software tools in the overall process of development and software testing also moved towards the more automation to deploy, validate and verify the software code as early possible. In recent years, lean canvas is used for the planning and validating the business model and this paper will bring more focus on the lean canvas model design adaptation in agile software test strategy building, test planning and guiding the test team to work fast.
