The availability of high quality and inexpensive video camera, as well as the increasing need for automated video analysis is leading towards a great deal of interest in numerous applications. However the video tracking systems is still having many open problems. Thus, some of research activities in a video tracking system are still being explored. Generally, most of the researchers are used a static camera in order to track an object motion. However, the use of a static camera system for detecting and tracking the motion of an object is only capable for capturing a limited view. Therefore, to overcome the above mentioned problem in a large view space, researcher may use several cameras to capture images. Thus, the cost will increases with the number of cameras. To overcome the cost increment a mobile camera is employed with the ability to track the wide field of view in an environment. Conversely, mobile camera technologies for tracking applications have faced several problems;simultaneous motion (when an object and camera are concurrently movable), distinguishing objects in occlusion, and dynamic changes in the background during data capture. In this study we propose a new method of Global best Local Neighborhood Oriented Particle Swarm Optimization (GbLN-PSO) to address these problems. The advantages of tracking using GbLN-PSO are demonstrated in experiments for intelligent human and vehicle tracking systems in comparison to a conventional method. The comparative study of the method is provided to evaluate its capabilities at the end of this paper. © 2011 IEEE.

As modern software systems operate in a highly dynamic context, they have to adapt their behaviour in response to changes in their operational environment or/and requirements. Triggering adaptation depends on detecting quality of service (QoS) violations by comparing observed QoS values to predefined thresholds. These threshold-based adaptation approaches result in late adaptations as they wait until violations have occurred. This may lead to undesired consequences such as late response to critical events. In this paper we introduce a statistical approach CREQA - Control Charts for the Runtime Evaluation of QoS Attributes. This approach estimates at runtime capability of a system, and then it monitors and provides early detection of any changes in QoS values allowing timely intervention in order to prevent undesired consequences. We validated our approach using a series of experiments and response time datasets from real world web services. © 2011 IEEE.

Concurrent adoption of software engineering process improvement frameworks have been widely practiced by the software organizations. The software development organizations leverage these frameworks to better address process improvement challenges. This paper develops an integrated framework for software engineering process improvement practices and unifies the theories in process definition and establishment. The unified framework provides a set of formal descriptions for software engineering process improvement frameworks. Requirements and architectures for software engineering process improvement frameworks are investigated. The main challenge in the integration is the interoperability of the frameworks. Inaccurate integration approach results in inefficiency of the integration process. Common interoperability issues in the integration of current process models and methodologies are addressed. In addition to this, omissions, differences and gaps can be identified and further examined for development of new unified framework. Taxonomy for software engineering process framework is used to support the understanding and comparison of diverse software quality frameworks. The taxonomy should be based on discipline-specific framework. Besides, other alternative approaches for comparing the software engineering process improvement framework are presented. The research outcome is expected to identify the structural relationships among the frameworks. Derivation from the taxonomy includes characteristics and categories of attributes tailored to the discipline-specific framework. © 2011 IEEE.

software project success depends on various reasons including project control, software standards and procedures. software development organizations realize the importance of using best practices to improve software development practices. An increasing number of literature have described about process improvement best practices and standards. Formal process improvement frameworks have emerged widely to promote the use of systematic processes for software engineering. These approaches identify best practices for managing software engineering quality. They provide methods for assessing an organization's process maturity level and capability. In this article, recent process improvement best practices and standards are presented. Its objective is to analyze the existing approaches towards software process improvement initiatives. Another objective is to determine the issues related to adoption of process improvement and standards. The research outcome is to obtain the significant process improvement issues and formulate a classification of generic steps for process improvements. © 2011 IEEE.

In this research, we focus on software namely Building Submission Checklist System (BuSCLIS) that has been developed to be use in construction industry. An objective of developing BuSCLI is to simplify the management of submission data of building plan approval through online system for the Local Authority (LA) or State Town and Country Planning in Malaysia. We presents the data management of the system through the data dictionary include login, user, contractor, consultant, checklist, location and project. BuSCLI facilitates user by computerized the forms and provide fast, efficient, transparent, effective service to the engineer, architect and contractor. Relevant and timely information managed by sophisticated BuSCLI with the database management system, MySQL. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

Bodil Branner and John Hubbard produced the first extensive study of iterated complex maps for cubic polynomials in Picard orbit [Acta Math., 160(3-4):1988, 143-206]. Since then few researchers worked on Julia sets for cubic polynomials. In 2004, Rani and Kumar [J. Korea Soc. Math. Educ. Ser. D;Research in Math. Educ., 8(4):2004, 261-277] studied cubic polynomials in superior orbit and gave improved escape criterion for generation of cubic complex maps. In this paper, few interesting Julia sets for cubic polynomials in superior orbit have been visualized.

In modern distributed systems, replication receives particular awareness to provide high data availability, reliability and enhance the performance of the system. Replication becomes as significant mechanism since it enables organizations to provide users with admission to current data where and when they need it. Integrated VSFTPD with Read-One-Write-All Monitoring Synchronization Transaction System (ROWA-MSTS) has been developed to monitor data replication and transaction performs in distributed system environment. This paper presents the ROWA-MSTS framework and process flow in order to preserve the data replication consistency. The implementation shows that ROWA-MSTS able to monitor the replicated data distribution while maintaining the data consistency over multiple sites. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

The rapid progress in education impacts the significant requirement to manage the educational globalization resources through the use of modern technology. In addition, an online system is the electronic interactive medium that delivers information to users via telephone lines to personal computers (PCs) or via cables to terminals. This paper presents on how to manage the registration of new student intake by using Online Registration New Student Intake System (ORNSIS). Integrated barcode technology with ORNSIS has been developed in order to overcome the manual system weakness, which involves the registration through the traditional methods and time consuming. Understanding the importance and limitations the register process, ORNSIS is a collaborative of web application concept that provides a platform for University Malaysia Pahang administrator to monitor the progress of each new student who did the register online. It has been developed by using the PHP language, Dreamweaver cs4 and database MySQL in the Windows 7. By using ORNSIS, the actual number of student will register in university can be obtain, thus decrease the time-consuming in registration event.

We propose a method for using ethnographic field data to substantiate agent-based models for socially-oriented systems. We investigate in-situ use of domestic technologies created to encourage fun between grandparents and grandchildren separated by distance. The field data added an understanding of what intergenerational fun means when imbued with concrete activities. Our contribution is twofold. First, we extend the understanding of agent-oriented concepts by applying them to household interactions. Second, we establish a new method for informing quality goals with field data to enable development of novel applications in the domestic domain. In this paper firstly we discuss an approach for supporting risk identification with the use of higher-level organizational models. We provide some intuitive metrics for extracting measures of actor criticality and vulnerability from organizational models. This helps direct risk management to areas of critical importance within organization models. Secondly, we provide details of an experiment that we conducted to evaluate our methodology. We believe our novel approach, will provide added benefits when used with other approaches to risk management during business process management, that do not reference the greater organizational context during risk assessment. © 2011 IEEE.
