The paper presents a study of response scenarios in an intelligent transport system, in which pedestrians are participants, to emergency situations and their prevention. Pedestrians are included in the VRU (Vulnerable Road Users) category within the general ITS architecture and are most susceptible to accidents due to the lack of movement control. Scenarios for interaction with such traffic participants may include not only rules for responding and providing assistance as soon as possible, but also identifying the initiator of the incident for the purpose of further control and prevention of situations of a similar nature. The authors of the work propose the use of blockchain technology to ensure data safety, as well as the option of building an ITS architecture with a module for monitoring incident data and timely response. The paper provides mathematical calculations of the possibility of using blockchain technology within the framework of the proposed concept and modeling.

Crypto-currency markets are known to exhibit inefficiencies, which presents opportunities for profitable cyclic transactions or arbitrage, where one currency is traded for another in a way that results in a net gain without incurring any risk. Quantum computing has shown promise in financial applications, particularly in resolving optimization problems like arbitrage. In this paper, we introduce a differential evolution (DE) optimization algorithm for Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) using Qiskit framework. We elucidate the application of crypto-currency arbitrage using different VQE optimizers. Our findings indicate that the proposed DE-based method effectively converges to the optimal solution in scenarios where other commonly used optimizers, such as COBYLA, struggle to find the global minimum. We further test this procedure’s feasibility on IBM’s real quantum machines up to 127 qubits. With a three-currency scenario, the algorithm converged in 417 steps over a 12-hour period on the "ibm_geneva" machine. During the experimental study, a pronounced beating and sealing of the side surface of the tubular, cylindrical blanks was recorded. It is established that cracks appear and develop in the central part of the lateral surface, i.e., it are destroyed. This fact confirms the claim that the destruction of tubular, cylindrical blanks of some materials begins on the side surface. It is established that the bases of analytical dependencies between the components of deformations describe the obtained results of the experimental study of SR tubular, cylindrical blanks within the error of the experimental data, which made it possible to construct a number of mathematical models for the purpose of further study of the SDS and the method of their determination. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

The rapid development of technology has brought unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to become widely known in the current era. The market of UAVs is also predicted to continue growing with related technologies in the future. UAVs have been used in various sectors, including livestock, forestry, and agriculture. In agricultural applications, UAVs are highly capable of increasing the productivity of the farm and reducing farmers' workload. This paper discusses the application of UAVs in agriculture, particularly in spraying and crop monitoring. This study examines the urgency of UAV implementation in the agriculture sector. A short history of UAVs is provided in this paper to portray the development of UAVs from time to time. The classification of UAVs is also discussed to differentiate various types of UAVs. The application of UAVs in spraying and crop monitoring is based on the previous studies that have been done by many scientific groups and researchers who are working closely to propose solutions for agriculture-related issues. Furthermore, the limitations of UAV applications are also identified. The challenges in implementing agricultural UAVs in Indonesia are also presented. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. The article proposes simple and accurate evaluation of the standard and expanded uncertainties of the Laplace population median. The uncertainty evaluation based on the approximation of the population median distribution for n observations by the distribution of the sample median for n - 2 observations. Comparisons of the results obtained by proposed approximation with exact results shown that when 6 ≤ n ≤ 10 the differences between approximated and exact standard uncertainties are lees then 1% (0.56%), i.e. negligibly small and for a confidence level p = 0.90 and 0.95 the approximated value of expanded uncertainty differ from exact value less than 1%, and for p= 0.99 difference does not exceed ≈ 5%. When n ≥ 11 the Monte Carlo simulation results showed that the proposed method for determining both the standard and the expanded uncertainty of population median do not exceed ±1%, i.e. is very much precise. © 2023, The Authors. In this paper, we introduce a ROS based framework designed for the planning and control of robotic systems within the context of precision agriculture, with an emphasis on human-in-the-loop capabilities. Utilizing Linear Temporal Logic to articulate complex task specifications, our algorithm creates high-level robotic plans that are not only correct by design but also adaptable in real time by human operators. This dual-focus approach ensures that while humans have the flexibility to modify the high-level plan on-the-fly or even take over low-level control of the robots, the system inherently safeguards against any human actions that could potentially breach the predefined task specifications. We demonstrate our algorithm within the dynamic and challenging environment of a real vineyard, where the collaboration between human workers and robots is critical for tasks such as harvesting and pruning, and show the practical applicability and robustness of our software. This work marks a pioneering application of formal methods to complex, real-world agricultural environments.

Smart meters are modernizing the electrical energy systems, solving numerous problems of the classical systems, and introducing new functionalities to the grid. This paper aims to give an insight into these systems in terms of their security and privacy aspects. Special attention is paid to the energy theft problem (meter tampering, physical anti-tampering measures, and theft detection methods). We, next, address other security issues present in remote metering (attack types, risks, and threats to the system). Also, necessary security requirements and signature-based, anomaly-based, and specification-based Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) are defined. We conclude by listing privacy concerns arising due to the remote meters and advanced metering infrastructures (AMI) being installed more and more.

Learning contextual and spatial environmental representations enhances autonomous vehicle's hazard anticipation and decision-making in complex scenarios. Recent perception systems enhance spatial understanding with sensor fusion but often lack global environmental context. Humans, when driving, naturally employ neural maps that integrate various factors such as historical data, situational subtleties, and behavioral predictions of other road users to form a rich contextual understanding of their surroundings. This neural map-based comprehension is integral to making informed decisions on the road. In contrast, even with their significant advancements, autonomous systems have yet to fully harness this depth of human-like contextual understanding. Motivated by this, our work draws inspiration from human driving patterns and seeks to formalize the sensor fusion approach within an end-to-end autonomous driving framework. We introduce a framework that integrates three cameras (left, right, and center) to emulate the human field of view, coupled with top-down bird-eye-view semantic data to enhance contextual representation. The sensor data is fused and encoded using a self-attention mechanism, leading to an auto-regressive waypoint prediction module. We treat feature representation as a sequential problem, employing a vision transformer to distill the contextual interplay between sensor modalities. The efficacy of the proposed method is experimentally evaluated in both open and closed-loop settings. Our method achieves displacement error by 0.67m in open-loop settings, surpassing current methods by 6.9% on the nuScenes dataset. In closed-loop evaluations on CARLA's Town05 Long and Longest6 benchmarks, the proposed method enhances driving performance, route completion, and reduces infractions. © 2024 The Authors

In this paper, we detail the process of designing and implementing a two-way teleoperation system in which the manipulators (master and slave) each have two degrees of freedom. Position-position architecture is implemented for both the joints on the master and slave manipulators. The controllers for both joints are implemented using operational amplifiers. The teleoperation system is tested for both free and contact motion. It is experimentally found that the joints of the slave manipulator follow the trajectory of the respective joints of the master manipulator. The slave manipulator also experiences force reflection whenever it comes into contact with the environment. The presented cost-effective setup can be used to introduce key concepts of haptics control technology to undergraduate students taking the course on linear control systems.

The changing needs of the enterprise require the manageability of its information system. Therefore, it is crucial to absorb these changes by orienting the design of the information system towards a modern architecture that decomposes the monolithic application into autonomous services. This paper proposes an enterprise architecture methodological framework to design the so-called microservice architecture known as MSA. Our approach is to describe the similarities between the MSA style of architecture and the service-oriented architecture known as SOA, the latter having a rich research literature focused on exploiting the methodology for designing services in a service architecture. The result of the comparative study indicates that the ideology for designing a SOA is identical as MSA which ultimately relies on decomposing applications into smaller components with a smaller and more manageable footprint. Thus, we conclude that it is preferable to use the adapted enterprise architecture methodology for SOA to design MSA.
