Surface sampling is a powerful technique used in computer graphics and visualization to gather data from 3D surfaces. Surface sampling is a process of collecting visual and tactile information from real world surfaces to serve as references for artistic creations. It allows artists to study and analyze the intricate details of surfaces, such as the roughness of tree bark, the smoothness of a pebble, or the subtle variations in fabric patterns. By examining surfaces up close, artists gain insights into the nuances that make each surface visually and texturally distinct. The solution we've developed operates seamlessly on both desktop and mobile devices, utilizing the functionalities of widely used web browsers. It eliminates the need for any software installations. Our achievement is founded on fully open-source solutions, allowing users to explore 3D models without any barriers.

At present, when armed conflicts have intensified, and especially against the background of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, a new era of development of high-precision means of protection and weapons has begun. Their effectiveness is primarily determined by the state of radio-electronic technical means. These include means of communication and control, radar and hydroacoustics, telemetry, etc. Thus, the effectiveness of the solution of the tasks before the radio-electronic device depends on the class of signals used. In particular, the type of signal depends on the quality of the communication, the range, the resolution capabilities according to various parameters, the probability of detection, the quality of control, stealth, etc. But the detection of hidden signals requires high-quality signal processing with consistent mathematical analysis of the signal. This requires a powerful mathematical apparatus. As an example of signal processing, the article discusses methods of using signal transformation using polyharmonic operators. The transformation of signals by two types of operators is presented: the Abel-Poisson operator and the Weierstrass operator. The simulation results proved the advantages of Weierstrass operators for signal transformation.

The problem of forecasting long sequences is important in many different domains. Proper selection of the hyperparameters when a machine learning approach is applied could make the difference between adequate and inadequate model. Several algorithms for automatic hyperparameters tuning were evaluated and compared with baseline selection. As a result, recommendations have been made. Some of the intuitive assumptions for the baseline model proved to be wrong.

This paper presents the recent development in remote and smart monitoring of restroom cleanliness. This was achieved by incorporating Lora and Raspberry Pi together with physical sensors, which allow the transition from a predefined periodic cleaning to a usage-based approach. This allows measures to track the real-time use of restrooms and then derive longer-term patterns of usage.

For many cyber-physical systems, e.g., IoT systems and autonomous vehicles, offloading workload to auxiliary processing units has become crucial. However, since this approach highly depends on network connectivity and responsiveness, typically only non-critical tasks are offloaded, which have less strict timing requirements than critical tasks. In this work, we provide two protocols allowing to offload critical and non-critical tasks likewise, while providing different service levels for non-critical tasks in the event of an unsuccessful offloading operation, depending on the respective system requirements. We analyze the worst-case timing behavior of the local cyber-physical system and, based on these analyses, we provide a sufficient schedulability test for each of the proposed protocols. In the course of comprehensive experiments, we show that our protocols have reasonable acceptance ratios under the provided schedulability tests. Nonlinear vibratory energy harvesters often exhibit multiple coexisting attractors, making their control challenging and energy-intensive. Ensuring an effective transition between these attractors while minimizing control effort is crucial for maximizing power generation and maintaining system stability. This paper introduces a differentiable data-driven control strategy that optimizes energy harvester performance by leveraging a neural network (NN)-based control framework. Unlike traditional fixed-gain or surrogate modeling approaches, the proposed method directly integrates system dynamics and control power consumption into the gain adaptation process, ensuring real-time adaptability. By exploiting the differentiability of neural networks, the controller employs gradient-based optimization to continuously refine control parameters in response to changes in operating conditions. The control framework consists of an offline training phase, where the neural network learns an energy-efficient control strategy through differentiable simulations. During this phase, the neural network is trained using a large dataset of system responses to different control inputs, allowing it to learn the most energy-efficient control strategy. This trained network is then used in the online deployment phase, where the trained controller dynamically adjusts control parameters in real-time. The proposed approach minimizes control energy consumption and efficiently guides the system toward the high-energy attractor, avoiding unnecessary control effort. Our approach significantly outperforms conventional PID-based sliding mode controllers. Simulation results confirm that the differentiable controller considerably enhances energy harvesting efficiency and reduces chattering, ensuring a smooth transition to the high-energy orbit while maintaining robust system stability. This paper analyzes of the hardware and software tools for implementing a cognitive radio network. In particular, software-configurable radio modules, which are considered the main element of the cognitive network, were studied according to their main characteristics, among which the widely used ones were comparatively analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the HackRF One device was selected as the most preferred option for cognitive network research, and its working principles, structure, and characteristics were revealed in detail. It also provides information about the GNU Radio software environment and its capabilities, which are used to operate the HackRF One device.

This paper presents the threshold value determination model, its implementation algorithm, and the characteristics of the threshold value depending on the probability of false signal detection, developed for the purpose of researching the method of energy determination in spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks. Also, the main methods of single-band spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks were initially studied in the article, and the main spectrum detection algorithms were comparatively analyzed.

The practical implementation of graded-index multimode fiber (GIMF) as a saturable absorber (SA) in mode-locked fiber lasers is limited by the requirement for extremely short fiber lengths, making its reproducibility and investigation difficult. In this work, we demonstrate stable noise-like pulse (NLP) generation using a hybrid mode-locked fiber laser that integrates a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) with a 32 m GIMF segment. Nonlinear multimode interference (NL-MMI) and nonlinear phase accumulation within the NOLM bidirectional-loop (bi-loop) were leveraged to enhance the saturable absorption characteristics. Comprehensive measurements comparing the nonlinear transmission behavior of GIMF alone and NOLM-GIMF structures confirmed a substantial improvement in modulation depth. NLP generation was systematically investigated across GIMF lengths from 30 m to 62.5 m, with optimal performance observed at 32 m, yielding a 3-dB bandwidth of 22.38 nm, spike width of 153.9 fs, and pedestal width of 61.73 ps. The obtained pulse is significantly shorter than previously reported NLP, which is typically reported in the nanosecond range for the 1.5 µm regime. Long-term stability testing over 300 min showed minimal spectral and temporal fluctuations, confirming robust operation. The proposed NOLM-GIMF design successfully overcomes the short-length constraint of GIMF-based SAs, offering a scalable and reliable solution for high-energy, broadband NLP fiber lasers in the 1.5 µm regime. This work advances mode-locked fiber laser technology by improving stability and scalability for ultrafast photonics applications.
