To understand typical dynamics of an open quantum system in continuous time, we introduce an ensemble of random Lindblad operators, which generate Markovian completely positive evolution in the space of density matrices. Spectral properties of these operators, including the shape of the spectrum in the complex plane, are evaluated by using methods of free probabilities and explained with non-Hermitian random matrix models. We also demonstrate universality of the spectral features. The notion of ensemble of random generators of Markovian qauntum evolution constitutes a step towards categorization of dissipative quantum chaos. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The timber's drying process is a mandatory operation before any action of the wood processing. In the recent years, the fundamental research in the field of timber's drying has made progress, the physical laws regarding the removal of the water from the wood through different procedures (convection, vacuum, microwave etc.) being elucidated. The using of the calculus techniques allows the accurate simulation of heat and mass transfer phenomena, as well as of the mechanical aspects (internal stresses, deformations), which accompany the wood's drying process. The paper presents the implementation of the monitoring and the control system of the timber's conventional drying, using programmable controllers (Siemens), dedicated devices and dedicated software (Step 7).

T CrB is a symbiotic recurrent nova that last erupted in 1946. Given its recurrence timescale of approximately 80 years, the next outburst is eagerly anticipated by the astronomical community. In this work, we analyse the optical light curves of T CrB, comparing recent photometric evolution with historical data to evaluate potential predictive indicators of nova eruptions. Although the "super-active" phases preceding both the 1946 and anticipated eruptions are strikingly similar, the subsequent photometric behaviour differs. We find that the decline in brightness observed in 2023, interpreted by some as a "pre-eruption dip", deviates from the deep minimum recorded prior to the 1946 event and does not reliably predict the eruption timing. Recent photometric and spectroscopic observations indicate that the system is returning to a high-accretion state. Given this, an eruption may be imminent, even without distinct precursors. While the next eruption of T CrB will be a major scientific event, its expected peak brightness of V ∼ 2 mag highlights the importance of setting realistic public expectations for what will be a visually modest, yet astrophysically very significant, celestial event. The method of obtaining the plan of experiments in multidimensional space is proposed. Our method is based on assumptions of uniform distribution of charged particles in infinite space. To receive the plan of experiments, the infinite multidimensional space is replaced with a hypercube whose surface models influence of infinite space. The software is developed and practical results, in two-dimensional space are acquired. There are no basic problems to carry out calculations in multidimensional space.

Transfer learning has attracted more and more attention, and many scholars proposed some useful strategies. Boosting is the main strategy for transfer learning. In boosting, resampling is preferred over reweighting, and it can be applied to any base learner. In this paper, we propose a weighted-resampling method for transfer learning, called TrResampling. Firstly, resampling is applied to the data with heaven weight in the source domain, and the resampled data is used with the target data as the training data to build a classifier. Then the TrAdaBoost algorithm is used to adjust the weights of source data and target data. We discuss Decision Tree, Naive Bayes, and SVM as the base learner in TrResampling, and choose the suitable for TrResampling. In order to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we compare TrResampling with the state-of-the-art algorithm TrAdaBoost and the base learner Decision Tree, experimental results on UCI data sets indicate that TrResampling is superior to TrAdaBoost and Decision Tree on many data sets.

Background: Diarrhoeal diseases claim more than 1 million lives annually and are a leading cause of death in children younger than 5 years. Comprehensive global estimates of the diarrhoeal disease burden for specific age groups of children younger than 5 years are scarce, and the burden in children older than 5 years and in adults is also understudied. We used results from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2021 to assess the burden of, and trends in, diarrhoeal diseases overall and attributable to 13 pathogens, as well as the contributions of associated risk factors, in children and adults in 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2021. Methods: We used the Cause of Death Ensemble modelling strategy to analyse vital registration data, verbal autopsy data, mortality surveillance data, and minimally invasive tissue sampling data. We used DisMod-MR (version 2.1), a Bayesian meta-regression tool, to analyse incidence and prevalence data identified via systematic reviews, population-based surveys, and claims and inpatient data. We calculated diarrhoeal disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) as the sum of years of life lost (YLLs) and years lived with disability (YLDs) for each location, year, and age–sex group. For aetiology estimation, we used a counterfactual approach to quantify population-attributable fractions (PAFs). Additionally, we estimated the diarrhoeal disease burden attributable to the independent effects of risk factors using the comparative risk assessment framework. Findings: In 2021, diarrhoeal diseases caused an estimated 1·17 million (95% uncertainty interval 0·793–1·62) deaths globally, representing a 60·3% (50·6–69·0) decrease since 1990 (2·93 million [2·31–3·73] deaths). The most pronounced decline was in children younger than 5 years, with a 79·2% (72·4–84·6) decrease in diarrhoeal deaths. Distributed coordination algorithms (DCA) carry out information processing processes among a group of networked agents without centralized information fusion. Though it is well known that DCA characterized by an SIA (stochastic, indecomposable, aperiodic) matrix generate consensus asymptotically via synchronous iterations, the dynamics of DCA with asynchronous iterations have not been studied extensively, especially when viewed as stochastic processes. This paper aims to show that for any given irreducible stochastic matrix, even non-SIA, the corresponding DCA lead to consensus successfully via random asynchronous iterations under a wide range of conditions on the transition probability. The systems of linear equations are a classic section of numerical methods which was already known BC. It reached its highest peak around 1600-1700 due to the public demand for solutions of technical and engineering tasks, nevertheless, it is still topical nowadays. This paper describes another iterative approach to solving linear systems, which is based in the multiple transfers of the solution proximity point towards the solution itself, simultaneously reducing the differences of all the system equations.

The paper describes three methods for finding the source of an airborne contaminant in a turbulent wind field. Weassume that an unmanned aircraft samples the atmosphere at a constant altitudewithin the planetary boundary layer, measuring the contaminant concentration. The turbulent wind field is generated using the openly available software TurbSim. A concentration field, or plume, is created by advection and diffusion of the contaminant from its source. The plume is modeled using a filament-based method proposed in the literature. The unmanned aircraft is assumed to sample the concentration field quickly, relative to the plume dynamics;once the plume has matured, the concentration is fixed and the sampling strategy is executed. A recursive Bayesian estimation approach is compared with a gradient descent algorithm and an extended Kalman filter. By comparison, Bayesian estimation requires relatively weak modeling assumptions, and simulation results suggest this approach is less sensitive to error in the initial state. This paper discusses the issue of dependability of a measuring system from the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) point of view. During the tests, the equipment for conducting electromagnetic compatibility tests was used. The tests were carried out in accordance with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the harmonized standard IEC 61000-4-6. The measuring system equipped with non-classical piezoelectric transducers called MFC was considered. The MFC transducer was used as a sensor connected to the NI 9191 CompactDAQ Chassis. During the research, the influence of conducted disturbances on the transmission wire was examined. One of the elements of the test bench was an EM-clamp (providing both inductive and capacitive coupling) consisting of a tube of split ferrite rings of two different grades, which can be clamped over the cable under test in a non-invasive way.
