With the increasing number of IoT devices, there is a growing need for bandwidth to support their communication. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of available bandwidth due to preallocated bands for various services. To address this issue, Cognitive Internet of Things (CR-IoT) enables devices to optimize their efficiency and enhance their communication capabilities by intelligently accessing available bandwidth. This is achieved through the use of soft sensing metrics, where devices continuously monitor the RF environment and transmit data opportunistically in overlay mode if a free channel is detected, or in underlay mode if not. In this paper, a soft sensing metric based hybrid transmission framework is proposed for CR-IoT devices to meet the data rate requirement for the smart city applications. The efficacy of this approach is demonstrated through simulation results.

The problems associated with the operation of overhead power lines and ways of improving control over their condition with the help of UAVs are considered. A structural diagram of the system of technical diagnostics of overhead lines based on UAVs was developed, for which the necessary diagnostic parameters were selected according to informative criteria. An analysis of types of UAVs was carried out in order to determine their suitability and efficiency of use for diagnosing the condition of overhead lines.

This paper analyzes of the hardware and software tools for implementing a cognitive radio network. In particular, software-configurable radio modules, which are considered the main element of the cognitive network, were studied according to their main characteristics, among which the widely used ones were comparatively analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the HackRF One device was selected as the most preferred option for cognitive network research, and its working principles, structure, and characteristics were revealed in detail. It also provides information about the GNU Radio software environment and its capabilities, which are used to operate the HackRF One device.

This paper presents the threshold value determination model, its implementation algorithm, and the characteristics of the threshold value depending on the probability of false signal detection, developed for the purpose of researching the method of energy determination in spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks. Also, the main methods of single-band spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks were initially studied in the article, and the main spectrum detection algorithms were comparatively analyzed.

The paper discusses a data science competition centered around the development of an anomaly detection system for IoT devices. The competition utilized a unique environment that allowed for the operation and monitoring of real IoT devices, including scheduling of attacks on these devices. The environment was used to collect the data, which included both normal and attack-induced behavior of IoT devices. The paper presents the background of the competition, the top models submitted, and the competition results. The paper also includes a discussion about restrictions related to the use of synthetic attack data as input for constructing anomaly detection systems.

This paper performs a comparative analysis of Android mobile forensics tools which are used for acquisition and analyzing of Android mobile devices. The major challenges of Android forensics investigation are manufacturing of Android devices with various operating system versions and there is no single tool which can be used for all sorts of Android devices. Aiming to overcome these challenges and increase more accuracy and integrity in Android forensic investigation, we made comparative analysis on both open source tools and one commercial tool. Logical and physical acquisition methods were utilized to acquire data from Android devices. Android Debug Bridge backup, Linux Data Duplicator utility tool, Magnet Acquire and Belkasoft Acquisition tools were used for acquisition. Two popular analyzing tools such as Autopsy and Belkasoft Evidence Center were utilized to analyze acquired data. The results show that using multiple tools can get more accuracy and integrity of artifacts which is forensically sound. © 2020 IEEE.

In counteraction to the increasing threat of cyber terrorism, the modeling to be predicted in guessing the predictive models for estimating the incidence of cyber-attacks for enterprise network in Myanmar are seriously needed. Although we need these models, there is no record of attacks, defenseless, outcome and threat to utilize the developing predictive models and authentication. The main purpose of this research is to determine whether SOC (Security Operation Center) manager uses cyber security model by using SOC results figures to prepare further cyber defense and incident response plan. The goal of this study was achieved by conducting experiments on various cyber-attacks occurred in security operation center of Industrial control System (ICS). © 2020 IEEE.

The study investigates the departure counting process in a finite-buffer queueing system with batch arrivals and multiple vacation policy. A representation for the mixed double transform of the number of departures up to the fixed time moment is obtained in the explicit form applying analytic approach based on integral equations and linear algebra. Numerical study is attached that focuses on understanding the impact of various system parameters on the behaviour of the mean number of packets processed within a fixed time frame. Utilizing numerical experiments, the study examines the influence of vacation duration, initial buffer state, arrival intensity, and processing rate on the departure process. Results reveal significant dependencies between these parameters and the transient behaviour of the queueing system. Notably, the service speed parameter demonstrates the most substantial influence on the mean number of processed packets, followed by the arrival rate. Conversely, variations in vacation duration and initial packet count exhibit comparatively minor effects on system behaviour. Overall, the findings provide valuable insights into the dynamics of departure processes in finite-buffer queue systems with batch arrivals and multiple vacation policies, offering implications for system optimization and performance enhancement strategies. © 2024, The Authors. Data scarcity has become one of the main obstacles to developing supervised models based on Artificial Intelligence in computer Vision. Indeed, Deep Learning-based models systematically struggle when applied in new scenarios never seen during training and may not be adequately tested in non-ordinary yet crucial real-world situations. This paper presents and publicly releases CrowdSim2, a new synthetic collection of images suitable for people and vehicle detection gathered from a simulator based on the Unity graphical engine. It consists of thousands of images gathered from various synthetic scenarios resembling the real world, where we varied some factors of interest, such as the weather conditions and the number of objects in the scenes. The labels are automatically collected and consist of bounding boxes that precisely localize objects belonging to the two object classes, leaving out humans from the annotation pipeline. We exploited this new benchmark as a testing ground for some state-of-the-art detectors, showing that our simulated scenarios can be a valuable tool for measuring their performances in a controlled environment. © 2023, CC BY.
