This paper proposes a scene segmentation method for foreground detection in outdoor visual surveillance. An outdoor scene is divided into three parts: road, sky, and other region by using seeded region growing (SRG) algorithm in which road region gets initial seeds by using the motion information of vehicles and sky region gets initial seeds by using a probabilistic classifier. As a result, instead of detecting foreground objects in a conventional pixel by pixel manner, detection can be performed selectively on the pixels of partial regions in terms of different surveillant requirement so as to facilitate and accelerate foreground detection. Experimental results show the contribution of our proposed method.

Medical images such as x-rays, ultrasounds and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) plays an important role in helping the physicians to diagnose a disease or body conditions. These images can be tampered with existing image processing tools that is easily available. The usage of security measures such as watermarking can protect the integrity of the images. Numerous watermarking schemes with basic security functions and even tampered image recovery are available. But there is no research on the experimentation of watermarking in the operational environment that involves PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication systems). This paper will focus on the experiment of selected watermarking scheme running in as imulated operation environment. The watermarked images will be tested to know its effectiveness by comparing its recovery rates.

Hepatitis patients are those who need continuous special medical treatment to reduce mortality rate. Using clinical test findings data and machine learning technology such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), the classification and prediction of their life prognosis can be done. However, we cannot pledge that all the features values in the data are correlated to each other. Therefore, we incorporate Wrapper Methods to remove noise features before classification. Malaysia government had been trying hard in order to find the most efficient methods in learning. However, it is hard to actually access and evaluate students whom will then be called an excellent student. It is because in our realties student who excellent is only excel in academic. This evaluation becomes a problem because it not balances in our real life interm of to get an excellent student in whole area in their involvement of curiculum and cocuriculum. To overcome this scenario, we designed a module for Student Idol to evaluate student through three categories which are academic, co-curiculum and leadership. All the categories have their own merit point. Using this method, student will be evaluated more accurate compared to the previously. So, teacher can easily evaluate their student without having any emotion factor, relation factor and others. As conclusion this system module will helps the development of student evaluation more accurate and valid in Student Idol.
