This article provides an overview of systems and methodologies used for energy management in small and medium-sized industrial enterprises. The main goal of the presented development is to examine basic principles in the management of energy flows in industrial enterprises powered by various renewable energy sources and energy storage elements. With the addition of additional energy sources, energy efficiency would significantly increase, which would also lead to a reduction in electricity costs. © 2023 IEEE.

A network with critical data streams, where the timing of incoming and outgoing data is a necessity, is called a deterministic network. These networks are mostly used in association with real-time systems that use periodic hard-real-time data which need to be scheduled. The algorithm proposed in this paper is focused on achieving the lowest possible latency within the specified network topology depending on the physical parameters of the network and the periodic requirements of the communicating nodes. The algorithm allows to add priorities to the data flow between nodes and also the option to specify if preemption is allowed within the network, since not all devices support it. The result is a schedule of hard-real-time data communication within a specified network topology where all requirements of communicating nodes are met if such a solution is possible. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Recent increases in global food demand have made this research and, therefore, the prediction of agricultural commodity prices, almost imperative. The aim of this paper is to build efficient artificial intelligence methods to effectively forecast commodity prices in light of these global events. Using three separate, well-structured models, the commodity prices of eleven major agricultural commodities that have recently caused crises around the world have been predicted. In achieving its objective, this paper proposes a novel forecasting model for agricultural commodity prices using the extreme learning machine technique optimized with the genetic algorithm. In predicting the eleven commodities, the proposed model, the extreme learning machine with the genetic algorithm, outperforms the model formed by the combination of long short-term memory with the genetic algorithm and the autoregressive integrated moving average model. Despite the fluctuations and changes in agricultural commodity prices in 2022, the extreme learning machine with the genetic algorithm model described in this study successfully predicts both qualitative and quantitative behavior in such a large number of commodities and over such a long period of time for the first time. It is expected that these predictions will provide benefits for the effective management, direction and, if necessary, restructuring of agricultural policies by providing food requirements that adapt to the dynamic structure of the countries. © The Author(s) 2024.

In the presented article, an assessment and measurements were realized to determine the energy efficiency of a medium-sized industrial enterprise. Real data from a three-shift plant was used. An assessment of the current electricity consumption was made and an energy audit was carried out to reduce electricity costs. The main goal of the current research is to ensure the basic functionality of the buildings, as well as the production-Technological process, ensuring minimum electricity costs and maximum efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

Although surveillance cameras are used in ATM cells, we face some problems of robbery and theft at ATMs due to lack of security;however, the monitoring capacity of law enforcement agencies has not kept pace. ATM spoofing attacks can be carried out to break or damage the ATM by stealing the machine and taking cash from the ATM. To reduce this problem, we arm the ATM with a camera module mounted in the room to perform continuous video observation. The camera detects the human and his activity in the ATM and attempts to breach the ATM. It detects unusual activities and immediately sends an alert notification to the police. Therefore, the system handles the application developed to automate video surveillance and detect any potential criminal activity at ATMs. Therefore, in this work, abnormal behavior is observed using CNN and RNN in surveillance videos. These algorithms can be used to recognize faces, detect and track camera movements, and detect and identify the action required to prevent such activity. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The article offers suggestions about mathematical modeling of architectural objects based on the functional image using the constructive operations of the theory of R-functions. In the recent digital era security has become more challenging. There is a plethora of ways to find solution to ensure monitor the system and provide required security. Key logger is one of the cyber attacks which record the key strokes of the targeted systems or devices from the host person. In other words, the program retrieves vital information such as login credentials, passwords and other sensitive information. There are many types of key logger, software key loggers is one of the key logger type which use software applications to collect the information from the targeted machine to host machine. It is indeed difficult to trace the software key logger because it runs in background without any noticeable signs. However, there are some signs like network traffic and unexpected activity. This paper concentrates on the implementation of key logger and its observation using python file, JavaScript file and etc. © 2024 IEEE.

Blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the way Higher Education operates. Blockchain is a decentralized and secure database that can store and manage digital information without the need for a centralized authority. This technology can be applied in Higher Education to improve the security, transparency, and efficiency of academic and administrative processes such as student records, credentials verification, and payment processing. Additionally, blockchainbased platforms can provide new opportunities for collaboration and credentialing that could enhance the learning experience for students. While there are still some challenges to be overcome, such as regulatory issues and the need for interoperability, the potential benefits of blockchain in Higher Education are significant and worth exploring. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possible applications of blockchain technology in Higher Education institutions and to provide a proposal/scheme of a blockchain-based academic and career record system in Higher Education. The system being proposed is composed of three layers, which are the data, blockchain, and application layers. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is one of the biggest threats to Ecuador’s health. The intake of processed foods has been linked to a higher risk of T2DM. This paper proposes FoodSub, a mobile application to recommend substitutes for processed foods using the NOVA Classification. Nutrient-based food clustering is used to identify substitute pairs between processed and unprocessed foods. The recommendations are supported and personalized using a knowledge graph that contains foods, dietary guidelines, and user information. In addition, a chatbot is implemented to answer simple questions about foods. This chatbot is developed using a Large Language Model (LLM) to query the knowledge graph. The mobile application and the chatbot are evaluated in terms of usability;both perform well, but there is room for improvement. Additionally, the recommendations’ performance is evaluated through expert verification. The recommendations perform well when issues like food transformation processes, flavor, context, or meal time are not relevant. Future work will consider the enhancement of the chatbot and the improvement of substitute recommendations for the relevant cases. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This paper presents the development of a conversational agent embedded in a mobile application aimed at improving the safety of medication use in patients with diabetes, a highly prevalent chronic disease. One of the main challenges in the management of diabetes is the prevention of drug interactions and the understanding of how food can affect treatment. The conversational agent uses a database of drug, food, and pharmacological interaction information to provide both preventive and informative recommendations. In the first scenario, it alerts users to possible interactions between the medications they are planning to take. In the second scenario, it provides information on contraindications, suggests food alternatives, and points out possible drug-food and drug-drug interactions. The design of the conversational agent allows it to understand and answer questions in natural language, making it easier for users to intuitively access relevant information. The usability of the tool was evaluated, resulting in an overall positive perception by users. In addition, the system identifies drug-drug and drug-food interactions and provides useful recommendations as indicated by experts. Although areas for improvement were identified and specific adaptations are needed to fully meet the needs of users, the implementation of the agent through a mobile application has the potential to prevent dangerous interactions for patients with diabetes and significantly improve their quality of life. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
