Insurance claims pose a significant and costly challenge for insurance companies. Managing insurance claims presents a fundamental issue for insurance firms. Insurers continually face the challenge of mitigating the escalation of claim losses due to fraudulent activities and the increasing volume of claim data within their operations. Consequently, accurately assessing the status of insured claims during the review process becomes increasingly complex. In order to make the car insurance claim prediction more accurate and feasible a comparison study on the performance of various machine learning and deep learning algorithms is presented in this paper. In this research study, the primary research contribution is that various machine learning and deep learning algorithms like logistic regression, decision trees, random forest, catboost, multilayer perceptron etc. have been analyzed and performance has been evaluated based on the accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, ROC AUC and confusion matrices. This study shows that some algorithms outperform the others and the Random Forest (RF) algorithm has resulted with the highest accuracy of 98.0%. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, a harmonic analysis of the buck-boost converter is implemented. A mathematical model of the DC-DC converter is presented, and the differential equations are described in the state space. MATLAB software product was used. Simulation results are presented when perturbations are injected into each of the circuit nodes. An analysis of the obtained results was made. © 2023 IEEE.

Handwriting typically consists of a wide range of writing forms with substantial differences in the placements and size of those writing shapes. The arrangement, organization, and spatial association of individual letters, words, and phrases on a written page are all examples of handwritten text structure. This study proposed a novel approach in which a handwritten text structure is primarily transformed into a Cartesian XY-coordinate system while maintaining its shape characteristics. The points on the contour of handwritten text with local maximum bending values are considered hypothetical breakdown points called Key Points (KPs). From the skeletal representation of handwriting, this approach first identifies KPs and their coordinate positions. After that, KPs are transformed into a graph-based representation with vertices and edges. With the use of geometric graphs, this representation attempts to capture the spatial and temporal organization of handwriting. Previous techniques focused on statistical methods, which offer fixed-size descriptions;however, graph-based representations are flexible in size and reveal the relationship between text structure. Graph representations enable the incorporation of contextual information by integrating extra features which improve text accuracy and understanding. The proposed approach is tested for writer identification and verification tasks on four benchmark datasets (CERUG-EN, CVL, Firemaker, and IAM) and one custom-built dataset. The findings demonstrated that the proposed approach obtained state-of-the-art accuracies across all the mentioned datasets. Particularly, it achieved the highest accuracy of 99.75% for identification and 99.81% for verification on the Firemaker dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Cloud computing enables businesses to improve their market competitiveness, enabling instant and easy access to a pool of virtualized and distributed resources such as virtual machines (VM) and containers for executing their business operations efficiently. Though the cloud enables the deployment and management of business processes (BPs), it is challenging to deal with the enormous fluctuating resource demands and ensure smooth execution of business operations in containerized multi-cloud. Therefore, there is a need to ensure elastic provisioning of resources to tackle the over and under-provisioning problems and satisfy the objectives of cloud providers and end-users considering the quality of service (QoS) and service level agreement (SLA) constraints. In this article, an efficient multi-agent autonomic resource provisioning framework is proposed to ensure the effective execution of BPs in a containerized multi-cloud environment with guaranteed QoS. To improve the performance and ensure elastic resource provisioning, autonomic computing is utilized to monitor the resource usage and predict the future resource demands, then resources are scaled based on demand. Initially, the required resources for executing the incoming workloads are identified by clustering the workloads into CPU and I/O intensive, and the local agent achieves this with the help of an initialization algorithm and K-means clustering. Then, the analysis phase predicts the workload demand using the proposed enhanced deep stacked auto-encoder (EDSAE), further, the containers are scaled based on the prediction outcomes, finally, the multi-objective termite colony optimization (MOTCO) algorithm is used by the global agent to find suitable containers for executing the clustered workloads. The proposed framework has been implemented in the Container Cloudsim platform and evaluated using the business workload traces. In this work, an nalysis for the study of threats in a real environment with the possibility of conducting a full-fledged analysis of threats, as well as their simulationhas been developed for research purposes. Designed laboratory was built for the threats research, specification of deploying and configuring Sysmon, imitation of an attack in laboratory conditions and its investigation by implicit signs, the processesing of threat analysis using the Sysmon tool. We present a system based on the analysis of continuous input chan-nels of Sysmon logs. The system is based on the Cyber Threat Analysis Ontology and analyzes SYSMON logs to classify software according to different threat levels and enhance cyber defense capabilities with situational awareness, prediction and auto-mated actions. The developed laboratory improves the effectiveness of threat analysis using the Sysmon tool, makes study of threats, deploying and configuring Sysmon, imitation of an attack in laboratory conditions and its investigation by implicit signs. It can be applied for the study of threats in a real environment with the possibility of conducting a full-fledged analysis of threats, as well as their simulation for research purposes. © 2023 IEEE.

The current development of Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology focuses on several key areas. These can be briefly described in various ways, including the design of FFF devices, their print speed, workspace size, and the precision of the produced parts. Given the pace and trends in these technologies, increasing demands are placed on the materials used in FFF technology. This article describes the design and verification of the effectiveness of a device intended for the active cooling of the created PVB (polyvinyl butyral) material. The goal is to create a cooling unit capable of rapidly cooling the material over a significant distance, thereby stabilizing the filament diameter and preventing potential deformation in subsequent processes. The verification of the cooling unit’s effectiveness occurs at various cooling intensities, and, in conclusion, presents the results of these measurements and their impact on the stability of the filament diameter and the reduction of undesirable effects caused by uneven or slow cooling of the filament. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This paper addresses the problem of deploying complex systems in Kubernetes clusters. It discusses using the OperatorSDK framework supported by RedHat as a basis for implementing the Kubernetes operator for Lightweight MultiAccess Edge Computing Platform Simulator (LWMECPS) deployment. Special attention is given to the operator Kubernetes architecture and how to use Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) to continuously deploy LWMECPS and machine learning models for it. © 2025 IEEE.

Our research introduces a groundbreaking approach to stress classification through Photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals. By combining Continuous Wavelet Transformation (CWT) with the proven VGG16 classifier, our method enhances stress assessment accuracy and reliability. Previous studies highlighted the importance of physiological signal analysis, yet precise stress classification remains a challenge. Our approach addresses this by incorporating robust data preprocessing with a Kalman filter and a sophisticated neural network architecture. Experimental results showcase exceptional performance, achieving a maximum training accuracy of 98% and maintaining an impressive average training accuracy of 96% across diverse stress scenarios. These results demonstrate the practicality and promise of our method in advancing stress monitoring systems and stress alarm sensors, contributing significantly to stress classification. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper describes our approach to the CRAC 2024 Shared Task on Multilingual Coreference Resolution. Our model is based on an end-to-end coreference resolution system. Apart from joined multilingual training, we improved our results with headword mention representation and training large model mT5-xxl through LORA. We provide an analysis of the performance of our model. Our system ended up in 4th place. Moreover, we reached the best performance on three datasets out of 21. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

The improvement of the control of the hybrid photovoltaic system with a storage battery to increase the power of objects over the limit on consumption from the grid is considered. The aim is to ensure the functioning of the system at the deviation of the load schedule from the calculated one and the generation of photovoltaic battery from the forecast value while maintaining the taken limit of the energy storage depth of discharge. The principle of the control has been improved by setting the value of the added power and forming the state of charge graph of the storage battery. The formation of the storage battery state of charge graph with the correction of the value of the added power according to the deviation of the state of charge from the calculated value with a given step of discreteness in time is proposed. The control algorithm has been changed with the introduction of additional limitations and the exclusion of correction at separate time intervals. Changes are taken into account in the 24-hour model of energy processes in the system. Also, the error of the storage battery state of charge estimation is taken into account. The simulation results confirm the possibility of providing the accepted depth of the discharge value for the calculated load schedule when photovoltaic battery generation is below the forecast value of up to 30%. © 2023 IEEE.
