Election Prediction Based on Sentiment Analysis using Twitter Data

Election prediction has always been of interest to many people. In the last decade, an increasing influence of social networks and the possibility of sharing opinions and ideas has rendered election prediction based on social network data analysis. This paper, drawing on Twitter data and sentiment analysis, uses the proportion of positive messages rate to negative messages rate as an effective indicator for predicting elections. Then, using the aging estimation method, itpredicts the values of this indicator in future time windows. The experiments conducted on Twitter data related to the 2020 United States presidential election in a four-month time window indicate that the indicator values and eventually the election results can be predicted with high accuracy. © 2022 Materials and Energy Research Center. Efficient spectrum allocation for secondary users in cognitive radio network using round robin priority algorithm along with reservation channels

Cognitive Radio Network provides opportunistic spectrum access to unlicensed users in the absence of licensed users using dynamic spectrum access technology. The key challenge here is to impartially share the existing spectrum to all the secondary users in the network. A Round Robin Priority (RRP) algorithm along with reservation spectrum is proposed in this paper to impartially schedule available spectrum band and to provide continuous uninterrupted service to all secondary users. The QoS of secondary users are evaluated and compared with traditional spectrum allocation methods. The QoS parameters considered are blocking probability, the forced termination probability, spectrum utilization, average waiting time and the average delay of secondary users. The proposed Round Robin Priority Algorithm with Reservation scheme results reveals 22.82% reduction in Blocking Probability, 15.28% reduction in Forced Termination Probability, 12.54% reduction in average waiting time and 24.58% increase in Spectrum utilization when compared with traditional Constant Channel Aggregation Scheme. On comparing RRP with reservation with Variable Channel Aggregation schemes shows 19.32% reduction in Blocking Probability, 12.74% reduction in Forced Termination Probability and 10.57% increase in Spectrum Utilization. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Joint segmentation and registration of images is a focused area of research nowadays. Jointly segmenting and registering noisy images and images having weak boundaries/intensity inhomogeneity is a challenging task. In medical image processing, joint segmentation and registration are essential methods that aid in distinguishing structures and aligning images for precise diagnosis and therapy. However, these methods encounter challenges, such as computational complexity and sensitivity to variations in image quality, which may reduce their effectiveness in real-world applications. Another major issue is still attaining effective joint segmentation and registration in the presence of artifacts or anatomical deformations. In this paper, a new nonparametric joint model is proposed for the segmentation and registration of multi-modality images having weak boundaries/noise. For segmentation purposes, the model will be utilizing local binary fitting data term and for registration, it is utilizing conditional mutual information. For regularization of the model, we are using linear curvature. The new proposed model is more efficient to segmenting and registering multi-modality images having intensity inhomogeneity, noise and/or weak boundaries. The proposed model is also tested on the images obtained from the freely available CHOAS dataset and compare the results of the proposed model with the other existing models using statistical measures such as the Jaccard similarity index, relative reduction, Dice similarity coefficient and Hausdorff distance. It can be seen that the proposed model outperforms the other existing models in terms of quantitatively and qualitatively. © 2024 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

This paper presents human pose estimation using millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar technology capable of penetrating obstacles. Operating within the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) at 60 - 64 GHz, our radar system generates signals conducive to accurate human pose representation. Our data processing framework focuses on producing point cloud data, effectively capturing each human movement. Results are visualized through a 2D graph, with the z-axis representing time. Experimental data, collected from various activities conducted behind different walls, underwent thorough analysis, comparing point cloud positions with actual human postures. The outcomes affirm the effectiveness of mmWave radar systems, positioned behind obstacles, in accurately extracting human postures. © 2024 IEEE.

Wearable technology is expanding rapidly in recent year. It is used in many applications in various domains, including affective computing. Affective computing is all about understanding and responding to human emotions. This paper will give an overview of a wearable device that was developed specifically for affective computing. It aims to increase the way we can understand user's emotions and allow for more personalized experiences based on their context. Multiple sensors and algorithms work together in this device to capture, analyze, and interpret our feelings through physical or behavioral signals. It can be worn as a smart-watch, wristband, or integrated into clothing or accessories. The device communicates wirelessly with a companion application installed on a smart-phone or a connected device, providing real-time feedback and insights about the user's emotional state. © 2024 IEEE.

Psychological vital assessments are required for monitoring health conditions and observing body reactions toward diseases and medications. Wearable sensors play a vital role in sensing body vitals and presenting them as signals for computer-based analysis. The problem relies on the signal decoding due to its input stream that turns out to be discrete/ continuous. Therefore for addressing the above specific issue, this article introduces MV-DUO (Multi-Variate Discrete Unified Optimization) method. This method addresses the above problem from a multi-variate perspective by sensing differential signals across healthy and unhealthy conditions. The healthy and unhealthy conditions are trained using neural learning by augmenting/ ceasing external vital data. The unification is performed using single-point artificial ecosystem-based optimization for identifying discrete sequences collaborated with continuous signals. The single-point reference is grouped based on the maximum continuity fitness observed under various sensing intervals. In this process, the non-grouped sequences are identified as unhealthy or discrete for which additional detection training and classification are required. Considerably the changes between successive sensing intervals are used for variations detection from unified high-fitness groups. Those grouped instances are used for training new vital changes observed at distinct intervals. This improves detection accuracy under controlled errors. For the varying sensing intervals, the proposed method achieves 14.13% high accuracy, 8.29% high grouping rate, 10.77% less error, and 10.07% less detection time. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.

Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) aim to advance innovative strategies relating to different modes of transport, traffic management, and autonomous vehicles. This paper studies the platoon of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV) and proposes a distributed observer to track the state of the CAV dynamics. First, we model the CAV dynamics via an LTI interconnected system. Then, a consensus-based strategy is proposed to infer the state of the CAV dynamics based on local information exchange over the communication network of vehicles. A linear-matrix-inequality (LMI) technique is adopted for the block-diagonal observer gain design such that this gain is associated in a distributed way and locally to every vehicle. The distributed observer error dynamics is then shown to follow the structure of the Kronecker matrix product of the system dynamics and the adjacency matrix of the CAV network. The notions of survivable network design and redundant observer scheme are further discussed in the paper to address resilience to link and node failure. Finally, we verify our theoretical contributions via numerical simulations. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless sensor network is a rapidly growing and challenging field as they are constrained by energy utilization, computation cost, network capacity, and security. Hence conventional network security schemes cannot be employed in it. The lightweight and low-capability sensors raise the risk of unauthorized communication access. In the communication phase, security risks including routing malicious activity (blackhole, grayhole), undesired floods, DoS, packet injection, etc., are considered. Numerous researchers have attempted to address the issue of sensor network security in the past using a variety of strategies, but the subject remains open since new attacks and other irregularities are discovered daily. This paper proposed a scheme to identify and prohibit malicious activity in wireless sensor networks using packet analysis and filtering approaches to resolve the security issue. The proposed approach improves performance with lesser delay, higher throughput, and packet delivery ratio and found successful in protecting wireless sensor networks (WSNs) against malicious incidents like flooding and DoS and improves overall performance. In the event of an attack the network performance goes down, however, the proposed scheme increases performance to almost normal routing and route overhead is less than 1, the PDR improvement is 4% when compared with the previous M-AODV scheme, and the rest of the metrics are also showing performance improvement. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Indoor positioning systems (IPS) continue to encounter significant challenges in achieving meter-level accuracy, particularly in large and intricate environments such as airports, hospitals, and industrial sites. Despite substantial advancements in technologies like Wi-Fi Fine Time Measurement (FTM), Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and 5G, their scalability and precision often suffer in dynamic, obstacle-laden settings. To enhance accuracy and adaptability, this study presents an innovative AI-driven sensor fusion technique that integrates machine learning models with various positioning technologies. This study achieves significant improvements in positioning accuracy through dynamic sensor input adjustments and real-time environmental awareness. Additionally, this study also includes results from a thorough evaluation of the system's effectiveness across diverse practical applications, while exploring its potential uses within the Internet of Things (IoT) framework. ©2024 IEEE.
