Unstructured Numerical Image Dataset Separation (UNIDS) method employing an enhanced unsupervised clustering technique. The objective is to delineate an optimal number of distinct groups within the input grayscale (G-S) image content, utilizing the improved limited iteration agglomerative clustering (iLIAC) clustering technique for the separation and enhancement of picture elements. The UNIDS method is structured into two primary stages: partitioning and validation. In the partitioning stage, the UNIDS method identifies an appropriate number of discrete clusters within the grayscale image using the iLIAC technique, eliminating the need for predetermined procedures. Subsequently, the method evaluates the similarity and deviation among data elements within the same group in the resultant image dataset. Additionally, it assesses the proximity and inters severance among clusters in the outcome of the image dataset through the partitioning process. Empirical results indicate that the UNIDS system excels in the spontaneous identification of an optimal number of discrete clusters within the input G-S image. The system demonstrates superior thickness, reduced deviation among data elements within the same cluster, increased inter-separation, and diminished inter-closeness between cluster elements. Furthermore, empirical analysis establishes the superior performance of the UNIDS approach compared to existing clustering techniques. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

This work proposes a novel image encryption algorithm that integrates unique image transformation techniques with the principles of chaotic and hyper-chaotic systems. By harnessing the unpredictable behavior of the Chua system and the hyper-chaotic nature of the Chen system, the algorithm carries out rescaling, rotation, and randomization on the target image. The intrinsic unpredictability and sensitivity to initial conditions of these chaotic systems endow the encryption algorithm with an expansive key space of 25208. This feature not only bolsters its resilience against brute-force attacks but also magnifies its overall security profile. The algorithm's efficiency is evident in its rapid computational speed and lean resource consumption, making it suitable for real-time applications. To gauge its robustness, a battery of rigorous tests and analyses, spanning differential attacks, statistical attacks, and brute-force assaults, were employed. The results validate its ability to resist a diverse spectrum of threats. With its expansive key space, exceptional efficiency, and sturdy defenses, the proposed algorithm emerges as a potential cornerstone for safeguarding digital images in arenas like secure communication, data storage, and multimedia transmission. In sum, this research pushes the boundaries of high-security image encryption methodologies, catering to the burgeoning demands of the digital age. © 2013 IEEE.

A novel approach to movie recommendation systems: overcoming the cold start problem with dynamic sea-horse slimmable network with a contextual attention network

Movie recommendation systems often face the cold start problem, particularly with new users and items, which complicates accurate recommendations. To address this, we introduce a novel approach utilizing a Dynamic Sea-Horse Slimmable Network with a Contextual Attention Network (DSHS-ConAtNet). This method is applied to four MovieLens datasets: Original 100 K, Original 1 M, Resampled 100 K, and Resampled 1 M. The approach involves pre-processing with Anisotropic Gaussian Filtering and a Directionally Truncated First Derivative to manage noise and sparsity. Feature extraction is performed using Scale-Aware Modulation and Transformer-Based methods to capture high-order features. The DSHS-ConAtNet is optimized using the Sea-Horse Optimizer for efficient resource utilization and personalized recommendations. Collaborative user-based filtering further enhances performance by predicting ratings for unrated items based on user similarity. Implemented in Python, the DSHS-ConAtNet model achieves an accuracy of 99% and an RMSE of 0.6836. Clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) can effectively detect illnesses such as breast cancer (BC) using a variety of medical imaging techniques. BC is a key factor contributing to the rise in the death rate among women worldwide. Early detection will lessen its impact, which may motivate patients to have quick surgical therapy. computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems are designed to provide radiologists recommendations to assist them in diagnosing BC. However, it is still restricted and limited, the interpretability cost, time consumption, and complexity of architecture are not considered. These limitations limit their use in healthcare devices. Therefore, we thought of presenting a revolutionary deep learning (DL) architecture based on recurrent and convolutional neural networks called Bi-xBcNet-96. In order to decrease carbon emissions while developing the DL model for medical image analysis and meet the objectives of sustainable artificial intelligence, this study seeks to attain high accuracy at the lowest computing cost. It takes into consideration the various characteristics of the pathological variation of BC disease in mammography images to obtain high detection accuracy. It consists of six stages: identifying the region of interest, detecting spatial features, discovering the effective features of the BC pathological types that have infected nearby cells in a concentrated area, identifying the relationships between distantly infected cells in some BC pathological types, weighing the extracted features, and classifying the mammography image. According to experimental findings, Bi-xBcNet-96 beat other comparable works on the benchmark datasets, attaining a classification accuracy of 98.88% in DDSM dataset, 100% in INbreast dataset with 5.08% and 0.3% improvements over the state-of-the-art methods, respectively. Furthermore, a 95.79% reduction in computing complexity was achieved. © The Author(s) 2024.

An ultra efficient 2:1 multiplexer using bar-shaped pattern in atomic silicon dangling bond technology

As CMOS technology approaches its physical and technical limits, alternative technologies such as nanotechnology or quantum computing are needed to overcome the challenges of lithography, transistor scaling, interconnects, and miniaturization. This article introduces a novel nanotechnology that uses atomic-scale silicon dangling bonds (ASDB) to create high-performance, low-power, nanoscale logic circuits. DBs are atoms that can form basic logic gates on a silicon surface using a scanning tunneling microscope device. ASDB can also be an alternative to the existing complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology. The article also proposes a new bar-shaped pattern to design gates and logic circuits with ASDB nano tecnolgoy. The bar-shaped pattern improves the reliability of the output, reduces the area and power consumption, and solves the problem of interatomic energy effects of ASDB. The article demonstrates the efficiency of the bar-shaped pattern by implementing two-input gates such as AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, XNOR, and a 2:1 multiplexer with ASDB. The article also uses a powerful tool called SiQAD to simulate and verify the performance of the proposed structures with ASDB. According to the simulation results, the proposed logic gates are more energy efficient, stable, and compact than the previous structures. Abnormal event detection in video surveillance is critical for security, traffic management, and industrial monitoring applications. This paper introduces an innovative methodology for anomaly detection in video data, encompassing three primary stages: preprocessing, feature learning, and anomaly detection. We employ background subtraction and noise reduction during preprocessing to refine the data. The feature-learning stage involves training an LSTM autoencoder to capture the essential features of normal video sequences. For anomaly detection, we map video data to a lower-dimensional space (latent code) and compare it against the distribution of codes from normal sequences. We determine regularity scores and identify local minima points exceeding a specified threshold while scrutinizing shadows between adjacent maxima to confirm and pinpoint anomalies. When tested on the CUHK Avenue and UMN datasets, our methodology demonstrated performance with AUCs of 93.8% and 94.1%, respectively, outperforming several baseline models. Our results show the high precision of our method that can detect anomalies, highlighting its potential advantages that it can achieve for enhancing systems of surveillance. © The Author(s) 2025.
