Context-aware plays a pivotal role in the wisdom network of information processing. Due to the limited resources, context conflict is inevitable in context-aware. User satisfaction is a good reflection for the wisdom degree of the network. In this paper, considering the user satisfaction, we propose a novel context-aware conflict solution model based on set pair Analysis （SPA）. The model obtains the best server mode by the maximum satisfaction connection degree to solve the conflict in context-aware. The simulation analysis shows that the proposed method is effective and can solve many users competition for the same scene of conflict.

We consider the problem of synthesizing multiple valued logic (MVL) functions by neural networks. A differential evolution algorithm is proposed to train the learnable multiple valued logic network. The optimum window and biasing parameters to be chosen for convergence are derived. Experiments performed on benchmark problems demonstrate the convergence and robustness of the network. Preliminary results indicate that differential evolution is suitable to train MVL networks for synthesizing MVL functions.

The problem of corrosion, related to Biofouling formation, is an issue with very high importance in the maritime domain. According to new rules, the paints and all the technologies for the conditioning of naval materials must fulfil more restrictive environmental conditions. In order to solve this issue, different new clean technologies have been proposed. Among them, the use of non-thermal plasmas produced at atmospheric pressure plays a very important role. This study concerns the opportunity of plasma treatment for preparation or conditioning of naval steel OL36 type. The plasma reactors chosen for the experiments can operate at atmospheric pressure and are easy to use in industrial conditions. They are based on electrical discharges GlidArc and Spark, which already proved their efficiency for the surface activation or even for coatings of the surface. The non-thermal character of the plasma is ensured by a gas flow blown through the electrical discharges. One power supply has been used for reactors that provide a 5 kV voltage and a maximum current of 100 mA. The modifications of the surface properties and composition have been studied by XPS technique (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy). There were taken into consideration 5 samples: 4 of them undergoing a Mini-torch plasma, a Gliding Spark, a GlidArc with dry air and a GlidArc with CO2, respectively the fifth sample which is the untreated witness. Before the plasma treatment, samples of naval steel were processed in order to obtain mechanical gloss. The time of treatment was chosen to 12 minutes. In the spectroscopic analysis, done on a ULVAC-PHI, Inc. PHI 5000 Versa Probe scanning XPS microprobe, a monocromated Al Kα X-ray source with a spot size of 100 μm2 was used to scan each sample while the photoelectrons were collected at a 45-degree take-off angle. This paper studies the reliability of an industrial knitting machine, emphasizing the reliability value and the reliability indicators: failure rate and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures). This study has been conducted on an industrial knitting machine and has duration of 4500 hours (approximately 6 months), after which preventive maintenance operations are planned. This study analyses the behavior of the reliability, failure rate and of the MTBF depending on the functioning environment and of the temperature to which the knitting machine was subjected. The last part presents an analysis of the top ten components that are most likely to malfunction. © 2014 IEEE.

In this contribution we introduce the Parallel Factor 2 (PARAFAC2) analysis as a novel method for the simultaneous detection and classification of neural action potentials. In order to measure these action potentials (spike signals), stem cell derived neuronal cells are cultivated on the surface of a Micro Electrode Array (MEA). Here, the neuronal cells produce ion currents, which can be measured as extracellular electric potentials. Whenever a cell or a group of cells produces ion currents, either spontaneously or evoked by a stimulus, a spike signal can be measured by the electrodes of the MEA. Stimulated cells produce spikes and groups of spikes (bursts) which propagate in space over the MEA. In the recorded data, different source types (e.g., cells which respond directly to external stimuli and cells which are triggered by other neural cells) are characterized by different spike shapes. The proposed PARAFAC2 method is able to separate these spike shapes (sources) in time, frequency and space (channels) enabling an improved performance in noisy scenarios. Furthermore, PARAFAC2 allows for a causality analysis on the measured spike signals (i.e. the identification of different signal paths). Thereby, the PARAFAC2 decomposition is able to exploit the multi-dimensional structure of the MEA data. © 2014 IEEE.

The atmospheric scattering of wireless ultraviolet (UV) light makes non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication with a wide field possible. This paper presents a fast frame synchronization method for wireless UV communication. The proposed method uses short frame head symbols and interpolation processing for accurate frame synchronization. This method suits wireless UV unidirectional communications systems, whose traffic is dominated by image data packets. Three different frame formats called fixed length frame, synchronous frame and interpolation processing frame are tested and analyzed. The experimental results show that the effect of image transmission with interpolation frame format is best and this low-complex method can be used to synchronize a UV images communication system in unidirectional channels.

Context-aware computing has proven to be successful in collecting and understanding various sensor data. However, providing an intelligent service by exploiting the collected context data from heterogeneous sensors is difficult on smart home because it is a complex environment with various devices and appliances. In this paper, we propose a context-aware computing approach for heterogeneous smart home environments. The key idea in this work is to integrate large-scale home context information from multiple heterogeneous sensors. We first define a semantic decision by context-aware inference including rule, inference and pattern driven. Then, a designed architecture that manages home environment is developed between large numbers of heterogeneous information entities and enhances intelligence abilities. Using the established rules and inferences, the proposed method is applicable for intelligent home to further discover more useful representative activities and personalized services with inhabitant needs. This comparative study between German and Australian legislation demonstrates that legal frameworks impact on the way in which recycling systems work. Both Australia and Germany operate as Federations and the autonomy of states influences common federation wide practices and standards. In Germany's case however, it is obliged to comply with European Union guidelines which result in German federal legislation being binding for all German states and to common industry practices across all of Germany. Purely industry regulated systems are not always sufficient to cater for societal and environmental needs, and political intervention can sometimes be necessary to achieve desired outcomes. The construction and demolition (C&D) waste recycling industry is a good example. In Australia C&D waste recycling is mostly industry regulated, while the state has greater influence in Germany. A statistical analysis illustrates legislative impact on recycling outcomes. Nonetheless, any legislative efforts can also have effects contrary to the intended ones. A study of such cases is conducted and other influencing factors also considered. In conclusion, the study outlines the importance of interstate coordination and regulation;and the need for the incorporation of industry requirements and other potentially influencing factors into the legal frameworks in order to meet desired outcomes.

The emission sources of umbral flashes （UFs） are believed to be closely related to running umbral and penumbral waves, and are concluded to be associated with umbral dots in the solar photosphere. Accurate identification of emission sources of UFs is crucial for investigating these physical phenomena and their inherent relationships. A relatively novel model of shape perception, namely phase congruency （PC）, uses phase information in the Fourier domain to identify the geometrical shape of the region of interest in different intensity levels, rather than intensity or gradient. Previous studies indicate that the model is suitable for identifying features with low contrast and low luminance. In the present paper, we applied the PC model to identify the emission sources of UFs and to locate their positions. For illustrating the high performance of our proposed method, two time sequences of Ca n H images derived from the Hinode/SOT on 2010 August 10 and 2013 August 20 were used. Furthermore, we also compared these results with the analysis results that are identified by the traditional/classical identification methods, including the gray-scale adjusted technique and the running difference technique. The result of our analysis demonstrates that our proposed method is more accurate and effective than the traditional identification methods when applied to identifying the emission sources of UFs and to locating their positions.

The paper presents the motion simulation of a Wing in Ground craft with a Lippisch configuration which is stable in terms of static stability. The influence of wind and wave perturbations on the dynamic stability of the flight are investigated. The analysis of safety and stability used two different approaches. Based on frequency domain simulation, the first approach derived from the classical stability theory utilizes the aerodynamic coefficients and their linearized derivatives. The second approach based on time domain simulation uses the coefficients with full respect to the nonlinear character of aerodynamics in ground effect. The trajectory is used to evaluate the dynamic stability and flight safety of the craft. From the results for typical perturbations, the limitations of the classical stability theory for the flight safety of Wing in Ground craft are shown. The results show the necessity of the automatic control system even for a satisfying stable craft predicted by the linear theory. The demand of high performance together with the hard constraints for states and control inputs are challenging for the controller design. A proportional-integral-derivative controller is studied to secure the flight safety of small craft under different perturbation and a methodology for designing a control system for operation under various weather conditions is illustrated.
