VSSB-Raft: A Secure and Efficient Zero Trust Consensus Algorithm for Blockchain

To solve the problems of vote forgery and malicious election of candidate nodes in the Raft consensus algorithm, we combine zero trust with the Raft consensus algorithm and propose a secure and efficient consensus algorithm -Verifiable Secret Sharing Byzantine Fault Tolerance Raft Consensus Algorithm (VSSB-Raft). The VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm realizes zero trust through the supervisor node and secret sharing algorithm without the invisible trust between nodes required by the algorithm. Meanwhile, the VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm uses the SM2 signature algorithm to realize the characteristics of zero trust requiring authentication before data use. In addition, by introducing the NDN network, we redesign the communication between nodes and guarantee the communication quality among nodes. The VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm proposed in this paper can make the algorithm Byzantine fault tolerant by setting a threshold for secret sharing while maintaining the algorithm's complexity to be O(n). Experiments show that the VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm is secure and efficient with high throughput and low consensus latency. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Due to its advantages like minimal trauma and a low risk of infections, the minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has become the standard operation technique for many surgical procedures. During this type of intervention, one of the main tasks from a technical point of view is the control of the pressure in the operation area in order to give the surgeon sufficient space to perform his actions. Because no invasive measurements are available, an extended Kalman filter incorporating the peristaltic behavior of the used medical device was developed to estimate the pressure in the operation area. This contribution focuses on the observer design while a separately designed PI controller using loop shaping was employed for validation. The proposed observer-based control structure was tested with a simulator deploying the principle of physical equivalence. © 2018 Eike Smolinski et al.

The current paper presents a unified lumped parameter modeling approach for deriving generic analytical system models of reciprocal electromechanical (mechatronic) transducers for various physical working principles (e.g. electrostatic, piezoelectric, electromagnetic, electrodynamic). Starting from constitutive physical relations representing natural laws, the model hierarchy comprises energy based nonlinear EULER-LAGRANGE behavior models, linearized electromechanical two-port models forming constitutive transducer equations and MIMO transfer function models describing the causality based signal flow behavior to be used for control system design and analysis purposes. It is shown that the models describe in a generic way the unified behavior of reciprocal transducers under different operating conditions, e.g. voltage vs. current control. Moreover the models allow in a straightforward way the generic discussion, i.e. independent from the concrete physical working principle, of important transducer operational concepts such as impedance feedback or self-sensing. © 2010 IFAC.

Unsafe-Net: YOLO v4 and ConvLSTM based computer vision system for real-time detection of unsafe behaviours in workplace

Unsafe behaviour is a leading cause of death or injury in the workplace, including many accidents. Despite regular safety inspections in workplaces, many accidents occur as a result of breaches of occupational health and safety protocols. In these environments, despite efforts to prevent accidents and losses in hazardous environments, human error cannot be completely eliminated. In particular, in computer-based solutions, automated behaviour detection has low accuracy, is very costly, not real-time and requires a lot of time. In this study, we propose Unsafe-Net, a hybrid computer vision approach using deep learning models for real-time classification of unsafe behaviours in workplace. For the Unsafe-Net, a dataset is first specifically created by capturing 39 days of video footage from a factory. Using this dataset, YOLO v4 and ConvLSTM methods are combined for object detection and video understanding to achieve fast and accurate results. In the experimental studies, the classification accuracy of unsafe behaviours using the proposed Unsafe-Net method is 95.81% and the average time for action recognition from videos is 0.14 s. In addition, the Unsafe-Net has increased the real-time detection speed by reducing the average video duration to 1.87 s. In addition, the system is installed in a real-time working environment in the factory and employees are immediately alerted by the system, both audibly and visually, when unsafe behaviour occurs. As a result of the installation of the system in the factory environment, it has been determined that the recurrence rate of unsafe behaviour has been reduced by approximately 75%. © The Author(s) 2024.

The demand for auxiliary systems that utilize methods and technologies of intellectual data analysis and machine learning is increasing in the CRM system development field. These systems are capable of generating valuable insights from vast amounts of data collected in CRM. The article shows the results of the development and study of the CRM system using the methods of affinity analysis. Earlier, the authors developed and implemented the base version of the recommender algorithm based on the use of cluster data analysis and collaborative filtration [1, 2]. The new version of the algorithm additionally uses affinity analysis methods to form recommendations for the selection of products, which made it possible to increase the accuracy of the recommendation system (service) by metrics F2 on average from 67.98% to 81.24% with an increase in the time for issuing recommendations (On average by 2.47 ms). The study and comparison of the basic and modified versions of the algorithm were executed using data sourced from insurance companies, furnished by "FB Consult". © 2023 IEEE.

This paper reports performance results of qualitative optical flow processing integrated in a fuzzy logic-based behavioral mobile robot control system. The quality and noise robustness of qualitative optical flow processing is improved by a novel optical flow outlier detection filter. This filter performs a qualitative detection of outliers based on comparison between an optical flow vector and the average value of an optical flow pattern related to the considered vector. The performance of qualitative optical flow processing is tested and demonstrated successfully through experiments in a real office environment. © 2012 IFAC.

Accurate state of charge (SOC) estimation is crucial for the safe operation of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), yet existing methods are limited by sensitivity to initial SOC guess or high computational complexity. To address these challenges, this study proposes an onboard back-forth moving horizon estimation (BFMHE) framework for SOC estimation, achieving high precision, robustness, and computational efficiency compatible with microcontroller implementation. An efficient linear equivalent circuit model (ECM) is established, where the open-circuit voltage-SOC relationship is approximated by piecewise linear functions. The proposed framework employs two MHE estimators that iteratively operate in opposite directions over a finite time horizon, which enables rapid convergence. Moreover, this study provides a rigorous proof of the stability of the BFMHE method for the battery system with current input. The proposed approach is validated experimentally under various operating conditions and with different initial SOC guesses. Experimental results show that the proposed onboard BFMHE method achieves a maximum estimation error of less than 1% and quickly converges to the true SOC value, demonstrating strong robustness to initial estimation errors. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

This paper describes a position control of 2 degrees of freedom (DOF) XY Piezo Actuator Stage (XY PAS) with Feedforward Neural Network (FNN) and additional Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach, which is used as an improved learning method for optimizing the weights of FNN rather than just the standard technique of back-propagation of errors. XY PAS is fabricated by a photo structuring process from micro-structured photosensitive glass and two piezo actuators (PEAs), which are built-on to meet the request for its precise movement on the working plane with approximate dimensions 60 by 60 micrometres. It is evident from the simulation model of XY PAS, that accurate positional control is an exact piece of work. The FNN is used as adaptive feedforward controller describing the estimated inverse function of XY PAS for each reference position of XY PAS's tip. Due to the optimal control performance of FNN, the PSO is introduced in order to improve the learning method of FNN. A simulation model of the XY PAS and the proposed FNN control algorithm with PSO have been developed in Matlab/Simulink. The obtained results show quick convergence capability and a satisfactory global search. © 2010 IEEE.

The work presented in this paper focuses on formulating the development of time-dependent electromagnetic field laws through the application of Gauss's divergence theorem. The first part of the discussion looks at the basic ideas of electromagnetism. It focuses on how classical formulations of the laws of electromagnetism can be adapted to account for non-stationary conditions, especially regarding magnetic fluids that don't conduct electricity. It is suggested that employing Gauss's divergence theorem could help improve the computational analysis of these generalized equations, which would make them more useful in magnetic fluid dynamics. The paper examines the intricate interactions between non-conductive particles and conductive fluids under magnetic fields. By putting these interactions into a single theoretical framework, this work aims to help us understand non-stationary electromagnetic phenomena and how they affect many different scientific and engineering fields. The concluding section of the study examines the prospective practical applications of these extended equations. They could enable the development of more advanced electromagnetic devices and systems. Creating a strong set of analytical tools that can find new scientific paths and useful applications is the main goal of the study, particularly in the areas of electromagnetic induction and fluid dynamics. This research offers potential for substantial progress in both theoretical comprehension and technological advancement, The proposed method is applicable to real-world systems such as ferrofluid-based cooling, magnetic dampers, plasma generators, and smart electromagnetic devices. These applications demonstrate the practical benefits of coupling field behavior with boundary dynamics using Gauss's theorem. © 2025

In the article a therapy selection method by using topological modelling and multi- objective optimization is presented. In a medicine practice a doctor by taking into the count patients' health state and laboratory results, tries to suggest a treatment strategy, which mostly is a drug therapy. To solve this task a decision support system has been developed and proposed. The system includes a mathematical model of three self connected diseases. Therapies are evaluated by five efficiency objectives. To find the optimal therapy, seven multi- objective methods are selected and used. Optimization methods form decision support module which is implemented in the medical computer system. To evaluate a performance of the system, test examples are analysed. Conclusion includes the summary and proposals of further research. © 2012 IEEE.
