The IEEE 802.15.4 standard offers a flexible communication solution for low-rate wireless small area networks. When the beacon mode is enabled, real-time communication is possible by using the Guaranteed Time Slots (GTS) mechanism. However, the beacon-enabled mode only supports a maximum of seven GTS allocated in each superframe, preventing other nodes to benefit from the guaranteed service. This paper introduces the SIGHT (Skips In GTS scHeduling for IEEE 802.15.4 neTworks) model, which incorporates a dynamic GTS allocation policy for IEEE 802.15.4 networks based on the (m,k)-firm task model. Our approach ensures that at least m messages are allocated in a guaranteed slot, for any k consecutive superframes. It adopts a deterministic schedulability test and an on-line prioritization heuristic algorithm called Slotted DBP (Distance Based Priority) to attend requests according to this schedulability model. A simulation model has been developed, in order to compare the behaviour in overload conditions of the proposed Slotted DBP with other approaches (DWCS and FIFO).

In this work, we propose a multifunctional e-learning environment with remote access for learning, getting hands-on experience, and carrying out laboratory research in developing optimized procedures for locating faults in complex electronic systems. It is a combination of a collection of software tools which simulate a system under diagnosis, emulate a pool of different strategies, methods, and algorithms of diagnostic reasoning and fault location, and allow to experiment with different embedded self-diagnosing architectures. Hands-on experiments target research teaching issues. The interactive character of the environment makes experiments attractive and helps to raise the students' curiosity.

One has in view aspects on the designing of passive filters tuned for some harmonic components. One presents some recordings and numerical simulations made over the electric signals from a substation used for the supplying of a d.c. line of 600 V. Software testing is one of the most important techniques used to assure the quality of Web Services at present. Test-data generation is an important topic in Web Services testing. The quality of test data will influence the efficiency and cost when testing Web Services. Based on the contract-based mutation testing technique, this paper presents a method of automated test-data generation for Web Services. First, according to the description information and contracts in WSDL documents of Web Services, initial test data are generated automatically by the random method. Then the test data are selected using contract mutation testing. This method can generate a test suite meeting a certain contract mutation score, which indicates the quality and efficiency of testing. Finally, we have developed a prototype on the *** platform, and carried out some experiments. The results have shown that the proposed method is effective in automated test-data generation for Web Services.
