In this paper, the authors propose a new dynamic optical RAM based on a fiber-optic line. This device significantly increases the speed of information flows by reducing the time required to operate the RAM by 10. The proposed optical RAM increases the productivity and efficiency of information exchange between slow and fast devices of information and communication systems without software costs, which reduces the probability of failure by two times with the same buffer memory capacity. The authors proposed variants of the practical application of the new dynamic optical RAM. On its basis, a shift register, a serial-to-parallel code converter, a parallel-to-serial code converter, and a TDM switch for information system facilities were created. The time characteristics of signals in code converters based on a dynamic optical RAM are presented.

This study aims to classify brainwave patterns using electroencephalogram (EEG) signals in response to various auditory stimuli, specifically Quran recitation, participants’ favorite music, and Interstellar’s main theme. By analyzing the unique EEG responses elicited by these stimuli, the study explores cognitive and emotional processing differences. Two prominent classifiers, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), were utilized. SVM, combined with Power Spectral Density (PSD) features, achieved the highest accuracy of 95% when distinguishing Quran recitation from rest. CNN, particularly with Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) features, exhibited strong performance in distinguishing between different auditory stimuli, with an average accuracy exceeding 90%. These results highlight the critical role of feature extraction techniques, such as PSD and KDE, in improving classification performance and deepening our understanding of EEG-based emotional and cognitive responses to auditory stimuli.

This paper introduces a novel advanced framework for the classification of Electroencephalography (EEG) signals through the integration of Riemannian geometry and a bespoke contrastive learning framework. Initially, the EEG signals are segmented and converted into covariance matrices, which are regularized to ensure positive definiteness, thus enabling their interpretation as Symmetric Positive Definite (SPD) matrices. These SPD matrices are then projected onto the Riemannian manifold, facilitating the extraction of discriminative features by utilizing Euclidean geometric operations within the tangent space. A specialized neural network architecture, TangentSpaceNet, is devised to map these features into a lower-dimensional space. In this space, a customized contrastive loss function, predicated on Euclidean distance, is implemented to enhance class separability. This approach substantially improves the robustness and accuracy of EEG signal classification. Empirical assessments highlight the effectiveness of the suggested approach, showcasing significant improvements in classifying performance 93% accuracy, 94%precision, 94% recall, and 94% F1-score. The novel fusion of Riemannian geometry and contrastive learning presents a sturdy and adaptable structure for analyzing EEG signals, presenting considerable prospects for utilization in brain-computer interfaces, cognitive neuroscience, and the identification of neurological conditions.

A single-modal infrared or visible image offers limited representation in scenes with lighting degradation or extreme weather. We propose a multi-modal fusion framework, named SDSFusion, for all-day and all-weather infrared and visible image fusion. SDSFusion exploits the commonality in image processing to achieve enhancement, fusion, and semantic task interaction in a unified framework guided by semantic awareness and multi-scale features and losses. To address the disparity between infrared and visible images in degraded scenes, we differentiate modal features in a unified fusion model. Unlike existing joint fusion methods, we propose an adversarial generative network that refines the reconstruction of low-light images by embedding fused features. It provides feature-level brightness supplementation and image reconstruction to refine brightness and contrast. Extensive experiments in degraded scenes confirm that our approach is superior to state-of-the-art approaches in visual quality and performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of interaction improvement. © 1992-2012 IEEE.

Group scheduling problems have attracted much attention owing to their many practical *** work proposes a new bi-objective serial-batch group scheduling problem considering the constraints of sequence-dependent setup time,release time,and due *** is originated from an important industrial process,i.e.,wire rod and bar rolling process in steel production *** objective functions,i.e.,the number of late jobs and total setup time,are minimized.A mixed integer linear program is established to describe the *** obtain its Pareto solutions,we present a memetic algorithm that integrates a population-based nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II and two single-solution-based improvement methods,i.e.,an insertion-based local search and an iterated greedy *** computational results on extensive industrial data with the scale of a one-week schedule show that the proposed algorithm has great performance in solving the concerned problem and outperforms its *** high accuracy and efficiency imply its great potential to be applied to solve industrial-size group scheduling problems.

The authors of this paper propose a block diagram for a dual-operating buffer on a dynamic optical RAM. The buffer consists of two dynamic optical RAMs, each controlled separately to allow for simultaneous writing and reading of data, thereby improving performance. This setup enables data to be read from the buffer while new data is being written to it. Implementing a dual-operating buffer on a dynamic optical RAM has the potential to enhance the performance of high-speed data transmission in telecommunications networks. The authors conducted numerical calculations to compare failure probabilities between single-operation and dual-operation buffers on dynamic optical RAM. The results indicated that using a dual-operating buffer significantly reduces the probability of failure with the same buffer memory capacity compared to a single-operating buffer. Additionally, the authors analyzed the effectiveness of the proposed dual-operating buffer. The analysis confirmed that exploiting dynamic optical memory for buffering enhances data transfer speed and efficiency due to the inherent properties of optical data transfer, such as high bandwidth and low latency.

The rapid development of technology has brought unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to become widely known in the current era. The market of UAVs is also predicted to continue growing with related technologies in the future. UAVs have been used in various sectors, including livestock, forestry, and agriculture. In agricultural applications, UAVs are highly capable of increasing the productivity of the farm and reducing farmers' workload. This paper discusses the application of UAVs in agriculture, particularly in spraying and crop monitoring. This study examines the urgency of UAV implementation in the agriculture sector. A short history of UAVs is provided in this paper to portray the development of UAVs from time to time. The classification of UAVs is also discussed to differentiate various types of UAVs. The application of UAVs in spraying and crop monitoring is based on the previous studies that have been done by many scientific groups and researchers who are working closely to propose solutions for agriculture-related issues. Furthermore, the limitations of UAV applications are also identified. The challenges in implementing agricultural UAVs in Indonesia are also presented. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Navigation is an essential task for social robots. However, certain rules must be followed to allow them to move without causing distraction or discomfort to people. Considering that the context surrounding robots and persons affects the expected behavior, this work defines a social area around a person that adapts to the real situation. In addition, the social context of a person is extended to identify groups of people, which the robot should take into account while navigating. With this understanding of the surrounding of the robot together with the ability to predict the trajectory of individuals as well as groups, the proposed solution not only effectively addresses collision avoidance while promoting socially acceptable behavior but also outperforms the majority of recent works in terms of accuracy. Furthermore, a dedicated policy is introduced to react to social navigation conflicts. The evaluation performed in a simulated environment shows that the computation of our proposed solution is at least 8 times faster than the best state-of-the-art approach while preserving comparable social conduct. Also, the results of realistic experiments performed using Gazebo and a real robot are reported.

In computer graphics systems during the formation of realistic images in most cases are used models of shading, which take into account the background, diffuse and specular components of color, which may be redundant and affect the time of formation of three-dimensional images. This is due to the fact that specular highlights on the surface of the object is on average about 10% of its total area, and therefore the use of computationally complex models for the whole object is impractical, as the use of simple and complex lighting models gives identical results for specular highlight zones. The concept of structural-adaptive shading is developed, which consists in preliminary analysis of the triangulation structure of a three-dimensional object with subsequent adaptive choice of lighting models and shading methods, and provides increased productivity of shading by removing redundant calculations that do not affect the quality. © 2022 IEEE.

Negative coupling is widely used in microwave filter design, especially for filters with finite transmission zeros (TZs). Conventionally, negative coupling is physically realized by capacitive irises or electrical probes. When negative coupling is small, the capacitive iris size usually becomes very small or the electrical probes need to be carefully placed, the manufacturing and tuning of filters, as a consequence, is of great challenge. In this paper, a coupling structure based on groove gap waveguide (GGW) is proposed to implement negative coupling and applied to a cascaded quadruplet (CQ) waveguide filter. The simulated and measured results demonstrate that the GGW coupling structure can perfectly replace the capacitive iris to implement the desirable negative coupling while favorably easing manufacturing difficulties caused by small negative couplings and lowering sensitivity to manufacturing tolerance for waveguide filters.
