An Enhanced Data-Driven Model for Lithium-Ion Battery State-of-Health Estimation with Optimized Features and Prior Knowledge

In the long-term prediction of battery degradation,the data-driven method has great potential with historical data recorded by the battery management *** paper proposes an enhanced data-driven model for Lithium-ion(Li-ion)battery state of health(SOH)estimation with a superior modeling procedure and optimized *** Gaussian process regression(GPR)method is adopted to establish the data-driven estimator,which enables Li-ion battery SOH estimation with the uncertainty level.A novel kernel function,with the prior knowledge of Li-ion battery degradation,is then introduced to improve the mod-eling capability of the *** for the features,a two-stage processing structure is proposed to find a suitable partial charging voltage profile with high *** the first stage,an optimal partial charging voltage is selected by the grid search;while in the second stage,the principal component analysis is conducted to increase both estimation accuracy and computing *** of the proposed method are validated on two datasets from different Li-ion batteries:Compared with other methods,the proposed method can achieve the same accuracy level in the Oxford dataset;while in Maryland dataset,the mean absolute error,the root-mean-squared error,and the maximum error are at least improved by 16.36%,32.43%,and 45.46%,respectively.

This paper investigates the results of simulations devoted to the acoustic field variation caused by different boundary conditions applied to the backscattering of the acoustic wave in both low and moderately low frequency ranges. The goal is to analyse the object behaviour and the detection ability of the 2D acoustic field approximations when the simulation data of the scattered sound field is available. The plane waves are backscattered by a dummy human body, positioned in a cabin which has a defined size. The dummy human body is created by using clusters of finite and disjointed but tangent circular cylinders. Each cylinder is a scatterer that emulates various boundary conditions i.e., the scatterers can be sound-soft (Dirichlet boundary condition) and sound-hard scatterers (Neumann boundary condition). The cylinders are filled with biological tissue (i.e., fat). The exterior scattering problem is solved using the preconditioned Krylov subspace iterative solvers (GMRES), as a computationally cheaper alternative. We use the hypothesis that the mass density of the obstacle and wave speed in the obstacle are both constant. During the simulation experiments, we neglected the interactions among scatterers. A frequency range from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz is analysed. Both the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) are used to analyse the numerical simulation of the sound field. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

On Hyper-Stability Theory Based Multivariable Nonlinear Adaptive Control: Experimental Validation on Induction Motors

This paper presents a novel hyperstability-based adaptive control strategy for induction motors, distinguishing itself from conventional model reference adaptive control (MRAC) approaches by integrating enhanced robustness against parametric uncertainties and external disturbances. Unlike traditional adaptive controllers, the proposed Hyper-stable adaptive controller (H-MRAC) ensures improved transient performance and faster convergence rates, validated through both theoretical analysis and experimental verification. Key innovations include the integration of hyper-stability theory into adaptive control design and a comprehensive evaluation of parameter uncertainties, which significantly improves motor performance in variable conditions. Experimental results demonstrate a 42% reduction in integral squared error (ISE), a 37% improvement in integral absolute error (IAE), a 28.7% improvement in integral time absolute error (ITAE) and a 25% faster convergence compared to standard MRAC. A detailed comparison with passivity-based control strategies shows a 26.5% improvement in steady-state performance and 30% faster transient response. Despite these successes, the paper discusses limitations related to computational complexity, real-time implementation challenges, and the impact of sensor noise on control performance. The potential need for DSPs or FPGA-based solutions is also addressed. Finally, the generalisability of the proposed control method across different motor types and power ratings is considered with future directions for broader validation in diverse industrial scenarios. © 2025 The Author(s). Lucky imaging is a high-resolution astronomical image recovery technique with two classic implementation algorithms,*** selecting,shifting and adding in image space,and data selecting and image synthesizing in Fourier *** paper proposes a novel lucky imaging algorithm where with space-domain and frequency-domain selection rates as a link,the two classic algorithms are combined successfully,making each algorithm a proper subset of the novel hybrid *** results show that with the same experiment dataset and platform,the high-resolution image obtained by the proposed algorithm is superior to that obtained by the two classic *** paper also proposes a new lucky image selection and storage scheme,which can greatly save computer memory and enable lucky imaging algorithm to be implemented in a common desktop or laptop with small memory and to process astronomical images with more frames and larger *** addition,through simulation analysis,this paper discusses the binary star detection limits of the novel lucky imaging algorithm and traditional ones under different atmospheric conditions.

The work reported in this paper enables to upload and activation of new programs to KUKA industrial robots during active operation, which would not be possible normally. By doing this it is possible to program those robots offline resulting in increased flexibility for modern manufacturing. The programs could be placed on work pieces to form a work-piece-driven production. Comparable projects increased the capabilities of robot programming by avoiding the KUKA Robot Language using high-level programming languages. Those approaches have proven themselves in the field of research. Nevertheless, this work tries a completely different approach by enabling offline programming and switching between programs while maintaining KRL the most used robot programming language for KUKA robots.

As the installed capacity of wind turbines increases, the overall inertia of the system decreases, which reduces the ability of the system to support the frequency. Due to the tendency to operate in a maximum power tracking state and the lack of an active power reserve, doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), a type of the current popular wind turbine, are unable to efficiently utilize the rotor kinetic energy to engage in frequency regulation in the face of grid frequency variations. To address this issue, virtual inertia control (VIC) is introduced to release the kinetic energy of the DFIG provide dynamic frequency support to the grid. In addition, a properly designed control strategy for the battery energy storage system (BESS) can store the excess energy of the DFIG system and release it as needed to assist frequency regulation. In this paper, we propose a coordinated control strategy for virtual inertial regulation with BESS for DFIG frequency support. We design a charge-discharge switching control strategy for the BESS. Time-domain simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in suppressing frequency disturbances.

This paper present the development a model for obtaining a coagulant for the process of cleaning and discoloration of industrial waste water and the development of a PID automated system for wastewater treatment. The description of the processes taking place in an electro-coagulator is given along with the solution obtained by model. The influence of current on the concentration of divalent iron water temperature is investigated. The algorithm of two-circuit regulation of concentration of pollution in sewage with the feedback current between the coagulator plates and the concentration pollutants in the water entering the automated purification system is developed. The automated control system for wastewater treatment process with the implementation of the coagulant forecasting algorithm in relation to the input pollution concentration is developed. The control of current magnitude in the electro-coagulator with minimal electricity consumption was realized. It is planned to manage the system with the ability to change the performance of the entire installation in real time using the SCADA - system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

During the magnetization process, the increase in magnetization is blocked by the increase in the magnetic field strength. The reason for these magnetic delays may be the magnetic anisotropy of the tested material. In crystalline materials, this phenomenon is quite well described and is related to the parameters of the crystal lattice. For amorphous alloys, which do not have long-range atomic order, this phenomenon has been much less studied. The paper presents the results of studies on the primary magnetization curves for two different alloys showing soft magnetic properties measured in three different directions: parallel to the casting direction, perpendicular to this direction, and perpendicular to the alloy surface. As indicated by the research, in amorphous materials, one can distinguish the direction of diffIcult magnetization and two easier ones, which means that the phenomenon of magnetic anisotropy occurs in them. © 2025 Polska Akademia Nauk. This paper proposes an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) employing the Harris Hawks Optimization algorithm (HHO) to optimize Multilayer Perceptron learning by optimizing bias and weight parameters. HHO-MLP aims to select optimal parameters in its learning process to minimize intrusion detection errors in networks. HHO-MLP has been implemented using EvoloPy NN framework, an open-source Python tool specialized for training MLPs using evolutionary algorithms. For purposes of comparing the HHO model against other evolutionary methodologies currently available, specificity and sensitivity measures, accuracy measures, and mse and rmse measures have been calculated using KDD datasets. Experiments have demonstrated the HHO MLP method is effective at identifying malicious patterns. HHO-MLP has been tested against evolutionary algorithms like Butterfly Optimization Algorithm (BOA), Grasshopper Optimization Algorithms (GOA), and Black Widow Optimizations (BOW), with validation by Random Forest (RF), XGBoost. HHO-MLP showed superior performance by attaining top scores with accuracy rate of 93.17%, sensitivity level of 89.25%, and specificity percentage of 95.41%. © 2024, CC BY.

In order to save computing power yet enhance safety, there is a strong intention for autonomous vehicles (AVs) in future to drive collaboratively by sharing sensory data and computing results among neighbors. However, the intense collaborative computing and data transmissions among unknown others will inevitably introduce severe security concerns. Aiming at addressing security concerns in future AVs, in this paper, we develop SPAD, a secured framework to forbid free-riders and promote trustworthy data dissemination in collaborative autonomous driving. Specifically, we first introduce a publish/subscribe framework for inter-vehicle data transmissions. To defend against free-riding attacks, we formulate the interactions between publisher AVs and subscriber AVs as a vehicular publish/subscribe game, and incentivize AVs to deliver high-quality data by analyzing the Stackelberg equilibrium of the game. We also design a reputation evaluation mechanism in the game to identify malicious AVs in disseminating fake information. Furthermore, for lack of sufficient knowledge on parameters of the network model and user cost model in dynamic game scenarios, a two-tier reinforcement learning based algorithm with hotbooting is developed to obtain the optimal strategies of subscriber AVs and publisher AVs with free-rider prevention. Extensive simulations are conducted, and the results validate that our SPAD can effectively prevent free-riders and enhance the dependability of disseminated contents, compared with conventional schemes.
