Design and application of a LiNbO 3 reflective power-frequency intensive electric field sensors

A sensor with distinct reflected light paths, based on the Pockels Effect in LiNbO₃ crystals, has been developed to measure electric fields in the power-frequency range. The performance of the sensor is tested through experiments, and it is evident from the results that it has a sensitivity of 2.2 mV/(kV/m) and a linear measurement range from 0.045 kV/m to 171.32 kV/m. When electric fields of 27.95 kV/m, 40.46 kV/m, and 56.92 kV/m are applied with the electric field direction parallel to the x -axis, and the sensor is rotated around the x -axis by 360° in the yoz plane, the sensor system outputs are 6.6 mV, 5.3 mV, and 8.4 mV, respectively. In contrast, when the electric field direction is parallel to the y -axis, the sensor system outputs are 47.27 mV, 70.14 mV, and 97.61 mV, respectively, which results in that the sensor as better unidirectivity. Finally, an experimental system is constructed, and the developed sensor is used to measure both axial and radial electric field distributions across the surface of a high-voltage composite insulator rated at 10 kV. The resulting electric field distribution is approximately " U "-shaped.

Task Scheduling Mechanism for Crowdsourcing in Mobile Social Networks

With the popularization of smart phones, mobile crowdsourcing emerged and gained growing attention in the recent years. Mobile users are now able to conduct complex tasks with the communication between each other. In this paper, we study the task scheduling problem in the mobile crowdsourcing systems based on the spontaneously formed mobile social networks (MSNs). We introduce two crowdsourcing task scheduling problems under this system model, with one problem aiming to minimize the total cost of some crowdsourcing tasks and the other focusing on minimizing the final completion time of the tasks belonging to the same project. We introduce a unified framework to solve the problems and propose two approximation algorithms for these two problems in the offline versions respectively and prove Their approximation ratios accordingly. Based on the two algorithms, we further design two online algorithms to deal with the workers' dynamism and also analyze their competitive ratios. Finally, we verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed methods through numerical experiments on real and synthetic datasets. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

This study proposes an approach to enhance the contrast breast ultrasound (BUS) images with the preservation of the finer details. The main idea is to use the relevant and most important features in the classification of BUS images as benign or malignant. Among the contrast manipulation techniques, both linear under- and overexposure methods, contrast limiting adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) method and homomorphic filtering are used. The gradient maps of original images are generated for further analysis. Also, the gradient maps of original images are improved by the local mean subtraction and divisive normalization. Eight structural features are extracted from each gradient map image type. The extracted features feed a Random Forest (RF) classifier to determine their relevance for BUS images classification. An accuracy of 97.12% has been obtained for improved gradient map images and 93.03% for gradient map images.

In recent years, statistical evidence has identified melanoma as a major cause of skin cancer deaths. In this study, we propose a skin analysis lesions based on colour features (C) and Hu (H) moments to differentiate benign (nevi) and malignant (melanoma) lesions and, a classification based on Random Forest algorithm. Colour features are found as follows. Pre-processing for hair removing using the Dull-razor method; image segmentation based on the optimal colour threshold set on each RGB colour channel (red, green, blue); 23 colour features extraction using the minimum and maximum RGB intensity and Hu moments; Random Forest (RF) algorithm to accurately differentiate benign and malignant skin lesions. This study used three datasets: 7-Point, Med-Node, PH2. RF classifier performance in terms of accuracy was: 94% for the 7-point dataset with H5, H7, H6, H2, C08 selected as relevant features; 98.1% for the Med-Node dataset and H7, H5, H6, H2, H1 ACC the relevant features; and, 96.5% for the PH2 dataset and H5, H6, H7, C03, H1 selected as relevant features, respectively. Shape features based on Hu moments are found to improve the classification performance of the skin lesions compared to the colour features.

An article is based on comparing of data processing within PLC and MCU with using Cloud platforms. The last advances in computation and communication technologies are taking shape in the form of IoT (Internet of Things), M2M (Machine to Machine) technology, Industry 4.0 and Cyber Physical Systems. Internet of Things connects an enormous number of devices. Devices within IoT need small number of sensors and control data, but with numerous messages. Today Cloud services work with the volume of these data and support large scale IoT systems. In this paper we would like to represent a comparison of solutions Industrial and Commercial IoT. Dynamic inversion- and neural network- based five-stage cascaded control for automatic carrier landing subject to multiple disturbances and uncertainties

This work proposes a novel control scheme for automatic carrier landing to enhance the landing precision and improve both the tracking of the reference trajectory and the touchdown accuracy. First, the nonlinear dynamics of the carrier-based aircraft is written under a five-stage cascaded strict feedback form. Then, a robust automatic carrier landing system (ACLS) is proposed by employing a novel nonlinear dynamic inversion (NDI)-based control approach, disturbance observers (for estimating the airwake and wind type disturbances), radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) for the estimation of the parametric uncertainties, a block based on a recursive least squares algorithm (for the deck motion prediction), a deck motion compensation subsystem, a block for updating the aircraft reference trajectory, and first-order command filters (for computing the required reference signals). The NDI- and RBFNN- based automatic carrier landing system consists of a guidance subsystem, attitude control subsystems, an angular rates’ control subsystem, and an approach power compensation system. The stability properties of the disturbance observers, controllers, RBFNNs, and command filters are integrated into a Lyapunov-based analysis to prove the stability of the closed-loop control architecture. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented automatic carrier landing system is verified by means of comparative numerical simulations.

Encryption algorithms based on chaos theory have become a prominent research focus in the field of information security. However, existing chaotic systems exhibit several limitations, including discontinuous chaotic intervals, low complexity of chaotic signals, and insufficient robustness in their dynamical behavior. These deficiencies pose potential risks to the application of chaotic cryptography. To address these issues, this paper proposes a universal two-dimensional composite hyperchaotic system model (2D-CHS). Through rigorous theoretical analysis, it is demonstrated that the number of positive Lyapunov exponents ( LEs ) in 2D-CHS is always equal to its dimensionality, indicating the existence of infinitely many coexisting attractors and strong robustness against dynamical degradation. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed 2D-CHS, three one-dimensional chaotic maps are first employed as seed maps to construct three 2D chaotic mappings as representative examples. Evaluation and experimental results demonstrate that the newly generated chaotic maps exhibit broader and more continuous chaotic intervals than traditional chaotic maps, and they also outperform existing systems in terms of LEs , the 0–1 t est, sample entropy ( SE ), permutation entropy ( PE ), and correlation dimension ( CD ). Furthermore, a digital circuit implementation scheme based on a microcontroller is designed to verify the practical feasibility and physical realizability of the proposed system. Finally, the novel 2D chaotic system is integrated with Latin square matrices to develop a high-efficiency image encryption algorithm. Experimental results confirm that the algorithm demonstrates excellent efficiency and security performance.

This study presents a voice-controlled movable electrical heating radiator. The functions are (1) button or voice controlled the radiator by smartphone APP; (2) heat radiation power control, moving control and timing control; and (3) feedback artificial synthesis voice for instruction, temperature feedback, and ultrasonic sensing for anti-collision. The results show the successful rates are over 90% for most of the cases. A better performance and lower cost voice-controlled movable electrical heating radiator has been implemented. The convenience of the radiator elevates the quality of human living life.

With the evolution of 5G technology, the telecom industry has influenced the livelihood of people and impacted the development of the national economy significantly. To increase revenue per customer and secure long-term contracts of users, telecommunications firms and enterprises have launched different types of telecom packages to satisfy the varying requirements of users. Although several recommender systems have been proposed in recent years for telecommunication package recommendation, extracting effective feature information from large and complex consumption data remains challenging. Considering the telecom package recommendation problems, traditional recommendation methods either use complex expert feature engineering or fail to perform end-to-end deep learning training. In this study, a recommender system based on deep & cross network (DCN), deep belief network (DBN), Embedding, and Word2Vec is proposed using the powerful learning abilities of deep learning. The proposed system fits the telecom package recommender system in terms of click-through rate prediction to provide a potential solution for the recommendation challenges faced by telecom enterprises. The proposed model can effectively capture the finite order interactional features and deep hidden features. Additionally, the text information in the data is completely used to further improve the recommendation ability of the model. Moreover, the proposed method does not require feature engineering. We conducted comprehensive experiments using real-world datasets, and the results verify that our method can generate improved recommendation accuracy in comparison with those observed in DBN, DCN, deep factorization machine, and deep neural network models individually. © 2021, CC BY.

Motivated by current sharing in power networks, we consider a class of output consensus (also called agreement) problems for nonlinear systems, where the consensus value is determined by external disturbances, e.g., power demand. This output consensus problem is solved by a simple distributed output feedback controller if a system is either Krasovskii or shifted passive, which is the only essential requirement.
