Nowadays, many technical devices are controlled by logic circuits. These circuits evaluate the situation based on the proposed truth functions, which they then use to perform one of the defined actions. In line with the increasing complexity of individual technical devices, the logic circuits and truth functions are also increasingly complex. For this reason, it makes sense to minimise these functions since they can thereby achieve a simpler technological process and the higher reliability of whole logic systems. This paper describes the Karnaugh Studio application, which resolves the minimisation of these truth functions - and was developed at our faculty (FAI, TBU in Zlín). The minimisation is performed using the Karnaugh Map Method - with support for up to eight variables on input. The application is based on the C++ programming language and the Dear ImGui and Magick++ libraries. Its functionality has been verified on a number of examples. This proved its applicability and ability to be used in the solution of logic circuits in industrial practice. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The article discusses one of the aspects of digitalization of education, in terms of digitalization of the educational process itself. The methodology of creating a personal information space of a teacher is presented. The form of this space is a teaching site with teaching materials. A method for structuring methodological content is proposed. The methodology of posting structured content on a WordPress blog is described. A method for creating media content for special disciplines of technical areas of training is considered. The analysis of educational video content presented on the Internet is carried out. A step-by-step methodology for creating a video lesson in the Camtasia Studio program based on the Power Point presentation is described. There is an example of its application, successfully implemented in the educational process.

The present can be safely called the era of the revolutionary transformation of the educational system. This is very difficult process. It is accompanied by the creation of a huge number of interrelated documents. Each document has a large number of repetitions of the same information. The result is a structured document, formed taking into account all standards. And its design takes the minimum time from a teacher. Since the organization of this process can be organized as follows. The teacher fills in the input forms and submits them to the member of the project team. He does all the routine work. Thus, an automated system for creating a work program will free the teacher from routine. He will be able to devote more time to improving his skills and creative work with students.

Dual microphone adaptive filters (DMAFs) whose parameters are optimized with normalized least mean squares (NLMS) algorithms have been widely used to reduce uncertain ambient noises. However, when used in auscultation, they are prone to periodic misalignment of the parameters caused by high filtering error. In this paper, a modified DMAF is proposed to solve this problem. A high-pass filter is introduced as signal preprocessing to reduce the amplitudes of the first and second heart sounds, and correspondingly, the filtering error. The preprocessed signals are fed into an adaptive filter, and the output of the adaptive filter is then low-pass filtered to restore the pure heart sounds. In this way, a lower steady state misalignment can be achieved. Simulation results showed that, the modified DMAF significantly outperformed the traditional DMAF on parameter alignment and signal-to-noise ratio. © 2019 IEEE.

We have considered the design of electric arc plasma installation, called plasmatron, with a vertical working chamber, enable the production of high-temperature plasma during the combustion of the plasma gas passing through the electric arc. The plasma torch is designed for utilization of carbon-containing wastes and slurries of processing industries. Famous electric arc plasma systems have some disadvantages, the main of which are the complexity of the design and the complexity of regulating the performance of the installation that produces plasma. The peculiarity of the proposed plasma torch is the effect of an external electromagnetic field on the arc. This allows the arc to be pulled out and out of the tubular housing. The equation describing the arc current change in dynamic modes is given. The experimental electric arc installation for plasma generation is considered, the results of experiments are analyzed. The role of the control and information-measuring system to ensure the normal operation of the installation is shown. © 2019 IEEE.

Working with an electric arc plasmatron, the technological process provides for the ignition of an electric arc. To simplify and accelerate the process of an electric arc ignition in a direct current electric arc plasmatron, a circuit solution based on a high-voltage electronic ignition system with an independent power source is proposed. The proposed scheme allows the formation of high-voltage high-frequency pulses in the arc interval. The proposed electrical complex provides reliable ignition and maintenance of stable combustion in all possible modes of operation of the electric arc plasmatron. Various ignition systems, an electric arc in an atmospheric environment are considered, as well as using plasma-forming gases.

We propose three extensions to the known sampling-based Exploring/Exploiting Tree (EET) Robot Motion Planner with following considerations: a) robot joint motion bounds, b) additional constraints on robot end-effector pose and c) parallelization of planning procedures to get alternative solutions. We also tackle the gap between global and local motion planning by combining sampling-based motion planning and reactive control approaches. These modifications complement the EET algorithm, which enables our planners to be more beneficial for practical applications. The experimental results demonstrate that our extended EET planners outperform other state-of-the-art sampling-based motion planners for some planning problems according to criteria such as planning time and path length.

Integrating plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) with power systems and supplying their required energy is a challenging issue. Decentralized operation of the power systems can decrease the impacts of PHEVs on power systems. One of the high potential options for developing decentralized networks is the virtual power plant (VPP). In this paper, day-ahead scheduling of VPP consisting of PHEVs, which use compressed natural gas (CNG) as their alternative option for electrical energy, and CNG station is presented. VPP can supply the CNG needed by HPEVs by compressing the natural gas (NG) in the CNG station. Therefore, two sources of energy for HPEVs is provided by participating in the scheduling of the VPP. This structure can improve the flexibility and ability of HPEVs to participate in the scheduling. Also, because of using the CNG instead of gasoline, the developed model reduce the pollutant emissions of the transportation system.
