This paper investigates the high-speed train rescheduling (HSTR) problem under a partial station blockage and proposes an efficient problem-specific strengthen elitist genetic algorithm (PS-SEGA) for HSTR. An HSTR model that is subject to train operation constraints is established to minimize the total train delay. The PS-SEGA framework consists of the following main steps. Firstly, a permutation-based encoding method is developed to define an efficient search space based on a train departure sequence. A decoding method is employed to output the rescheduled timetable and objective value based on the departure sequence. Moreover, a hybrid initialization method involving an efficient heuristic strategy (EHS) is put forward to accelerate the convergence speed of Evolutionary algorithms (EAs). Using problem-specific knowledge, EHS generates an efficient and feasible solution for the initial population. Finally, a restart strategy is presented to maintain genetic diversity. Compared with other advanced EAs and their improved variants also using the PS-SEGA framework, experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PS-SEGA for addressing HSTR scenarios under the partial station blockage. As for the scenarios that CPLEX can not obtain optimal solutions within 10 minutes, PS-SEGA can all provide quasi-optimal solutions in real-time. Furthermore, compared with the other two strategies (i.e., First-Scheduled-First-Served and EHS), PS-SEGA can find the best departure sequence that can output the timetable with a quasi-optimal solution. © 2023, The Authors. Sentiment classification of the Chinese and Vietnamese news is important to analysis public opinion of Chinese and Vietnamese. For cross-lingual sentiment analysis, this paper studies the method of sentiment analysis for Chinese and Vietnamese bilingual news sentence based on convolution neural network (CNN). Firstly, collect Chinese and Vietnamese news data from Internet, use the data collected to train word vector. Secondly, employ the pre-trained word vector and bilingual lexicon to project the Chinese news labeled data to bilingual word vector space, the problem of the lack of annotated corpus in Vietnamese is solved in a certain level. Finally, using convolution neural network to make cross-lingual sentiment classification. Experiment result shows that the F score of Vietnamese news classification has reached 86%. Compared with the traditional methods, the proposed method does not need to construct sentiment lexicon and perform feature extraction, and the performance of cross-lingual sentiment classification is also remarkable. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) would be the worlds largest radio telescope with eventually over a square kilometre of collecting area. However, there are enormous challenges in its data processing. The using of modern distributed computing techniques to solve the problem of massive data processing in SKA is one of the most important challenges. In this study, basing on the Dask distribution computational framework, and taking the visibility function integral processing as an example, we adopt a multi-level parallelism method to implement distributed averaging over time and channel. Dask Array was used to implement super large matrix or arrays with supported parallelism. To maximize the usage of memory, we further exploit the data parallelism provided by Dask that intelligently distributes the computational load across a network of computer agents and has a built-in fault tolerance mechanism. The validity of the proposed pattern was also verified by using the Common Astronomy Software Application (CASA), wherein we analyze the smearing effects on images reconstructed from different resolution visibilities. Fuzzy Rule-based Models (FRMs) have attracted significant interest in the field of machine learning owing to their modular architecture, robust design methodologies, and sound interpretability. This study introduces a novel Kernel Contextual Fuzzy Rule Model (KCFRM) designed to cope with regression tasks. A Kernel Contextual Fuzzy Clustering (KCFC) algorithm is proposed for conditional partitioning of the input space. Specifically, we incorporate the Mercer kernel into context fuzzy clustering to enhance the abilities of the model to distinguish, extract, and amplify useful features via nonlinear mapping, thereby generating more suitable information granules. Additionally, we employ an autoencoder's "encoding-decoding" mechanism to extract differences between data patterns and subsequently transform these into KCFC contexts via a conversion function, therefore leading to the creation of high-quality fuzzy sets. In the conclusion portion of fuzzy rules, conventional numerical or linear functions struggle to adequately describe the complex behavior present in local fuzzy regions. To mitigate this, we incorporate a Randomization-based Neural Network (RANN), capable of providing superior approximation capabilities and substantial computational efficiency. RANN overcomes traditional method constraints in representing complex behaviors within the fuzzy region. The inclusion of RANN results in more accurate and efficient conclusions for fuzzy rules. The uniqueness of this study lies in its holistic approach to designing fuzzy models with KCFC and RANN, improving the expressiveness of the rules and enhancing the generalization of the models. KCFRM's performance is assessed using various publicly available machine learning datasets, with experimental results underscoring its effectiveness and performance enhancements. © 2025

Design of the topology and layout for an analog finite impulse response (FIR) filter realized in the CMOS technology using the switched capacitor (SC) technique, is presented. The filter is based on the so called “rotator structure” supplemented with the programmable capacitor array. This array makes the on-line adjusting of the frequency response of the filter possible in a very wide range, thus, enlarges the area of applications of this circuit, e.g., to multi-standard wireless communication, software-defined radio, adaptive systems, etc. The presented circuit realizes filters of orders up to 15 (16 filter coefficients). The maximum frequency range approaches ca. 2 MHz. The circuit dissipates ca. 8 mW from the power supply.

The Virtual Reality (VR) experiences are great for an engaging presentation creating wide public awareness of cultural heritage, especially if the experience is built on a web-based technology. One of the still posing challenges is that once an application has been developed, for example for a virtual museum or a virtual tour, it usually remains fixed to an embedded in the application model. Adding new functionalities or interaction paradigms needs additional development and new deployment. In this paper, we propose a framework, which achieves the decoupling of an experience from the used models and interaction paradigms through scene and input templates and configuration files. This allows an easy way for generation of a variety of experiences even by people with no or limited programming skills.

Numerical solution of van der Pol equation via fix and variable step size methods

This paper devotes to the numerical simulation of Van der Pol equation using fix and variable step size methods. The solution is obtained via two different methods of Runge-Kutta of order 5 (RK5) for fix step size and Runge-Kutta Fehlberg method (RKF) of order 5 for variable step size. The algorithms of fix and variable step size of RK5 and RKF methods, respectively are developed and coded in Matlab for model simulation. Local and global errors are computed for non-stiff and stiff problem of Van der Pol equation. RKF method using variable step size show low values of error for stiff problem with less number of iteration, hence indicate good performance of the method in approximating the solution of the Van der Pol model.

Adaptive binarization based on fuzzy integrals

Adaptive binarization methodologies threshold the intensity of the pixels with respect to adjacent pixels exploiting the integral images. In turn, the integral images are generally computed optimally using the summed-area-table algorithm (SAT). This document presents a new adaptive binarization technique based on fuzzy integral images through an efficient design of a modified SAT for fuzzy integrals. We define this new methodology as FLAT (Fuzzy Local Adaptive Thresholding). The experimental results show that the proposed methodology have produced an image quality thresholding often better than traditional algorithms and saliency neural networks. We propose a new generalization of the Sugeno and CF1,2 integrals to improve existing results with an efficient integral image computation. A one-stage control strategy is proposed for planar underactuated manipulators, which have a passive link not located at the first link. The control objective is to control the end-effector from an initial position to a given target position. To achieve the control objective, a general form of controllers for the active links is proposed. To ensure that the system can be stabilized at its target state, parameters of the proposed controllers are calculated using the differential evolution algorithm. Simulations on specific systems are performed to show the validity of the proposed control strategy. © 2019 IEEE.
