This article presents a method for detecting definitions in text, as well as identifying their formal parts, using the predictive capacity of certain relational parts of speech, mainly prepositions but also including words from other lexical categories such as adverbs, pronouns and conjunctions. The method is specifically tailored for Romanian language. Based on their predicting capacity, the relational words can be distributed into four categories that influence the way the definitions are detected. Using an annotated corpus of definitions, a series of statistics is extracted and used to formulate measures describing the impact and usage patterns of these relational words.

This paper investigates the applicability of two algorithms for routing the optimal path in a graph, used for navigation of a UAV drone in a security setup. For this purpose we make use of a graph of waypoints, which is based on GPS coordinates of flight path maneuver points in the threedimensional space. The graph is represented by a dynamic adjacency matrix, on which we carry out a comparative evaluation of the predicted drone route. We assess the advantages and disadvantages of the two routing algorithms in the context of area observation mode "go round the area". © 2018 IEEE.

This paper presents a new simplified linear self-adjusting algorithm and an improved artificial ant colony self adjusting algorithm, for optimal energy flow management of a photovoltaic-grid hybrid energy system coupled through a DC link. The two proposed algorithms rely on the voltage error in the stabilization of the AC link to self determine a compensation current and hence power deficit, which is automatically extracted from the back-up storage to maintain an uninterrupted service and ensure the balance between power production and consumption. Numerical simulation results in Matlab/simulink under different scenarios show the effectiveness of the algorithms in mitigating the challenges posed by the intermittent nature of the photovoltaic source and also in facilitating the rapid and flexible integration of the renewable energy source. The algorithms also contribute effectively in regulating the AC bus voltage and in maintaining the frequency and total harmonic distortion within acceptable standards. The specificity of the two proposed algorithms is the fast response speed of the system in balancing power output and consumption. A comparative study of the proposed algorithms with a proportional integral (PI) controller under different operating modes clearly show the superiority of the new linear self-adjusting algorithm in terms of system stability, response time, error reduction and total harmonic distortion mitigation. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

With the development of agriculture needs, greenhouse has a huge development prospects, it can bring huge economic benefits for agriculture. The system uses Zigbee technology to carry out remote wireless monitoring of temperature and humidity signals in vegetable greenhouses. It sends data signal from the temperature and humidity sensor of each node gaining to the main control system through the wireless communication way. And then the main control system transfers to the mobile client. The mobile client monitor and control the main control system, which adjusts the parameters and controls the greenhouse temperature and humidity, in order to improve the growth of vegetables. The system design can save a lot of wiring costs, the node settings are also very flexible, farmers can easily in the room for remote control, in order to achieve the remote management of vegetable greenhouses. © 2017 IEEE.

Estimating red noise in quasi-periodic signals with MCMC-based Bayesian

Multi-parameter Bayesian inferences based on Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) samples have been widely used to estimate red noise in solar period-periodic signals. To MCMC, proper priors and sufficient iterations are prerequisites ensuring the accuracy of red noise estimation. We used MCMC-based Bayesian inferences to estimate 100 groups of red noise synthesized randomly for evaluating its accuracy. At the same time, the Brooks-Gelman algorithm was employed to precisely diagnose the convergence of the Markov chains generated by MCMC. The root-mean-square error of parameter inferences to the synthetic data is only 1.14. Furthermore, we applied the algorithm to analyze the oscillation modes in a sunspot and a flare. A 70 s period is detected in the sunspot umbra in addition to 3- and 5-minute periods, and a 40 s period is detected in the flare. The results prove that estimating red noise with MCMC-based Bayesian has more high accuracy in the case of proper priors and convergence. We also find that the number of iterations increases dramatically to achieve convergence as the number of parameters grows. Therefore, we strongly recommend that when estimating red noise with MCMC-based Bayesian, different initial values must be selected to ensure that the entire posterior distribution is covered. A novel hybrid algorithm for lucky imaging

Lucky imaging is a high-resolution astronomical image recovery technique with two classic implementation algorithms, i.e. image selecting, shifting and adding in image space and data selecting and image synthesizing in Fourier space. This paper proposes a novel lucky imaging algorithm where with space-domain and frequency-domain selection rates as a link, the two classic algorithms are combined successfully, making each algorithm a proper subset of the novel hybrid algorithm. Experimental results show that with the same experiment dataset and platform, the high-resolution image obtained by the proposed algorithm is superior to that obtained by the two classic algorithms. This paper also proposes a new lucky image selection and storage scheme, which can greatly save computer memory and enable lucky imaging algorithm to be implemented in a common desktop or laptop with small memory and to process astronomical images with more frames and larger size. Besides, through simulation analysis, this paper discusses the binary star detection limits of the novel lucky imaging algorithm and traditional ones under different atmospheric conditions. © 2020, CC BY.

Free forms based on analytical perturbation functions have the advantage of spline representation of surfaces-a high degree of smoothness of the free form with a small number of perturbation functions. An approach to transformations of the describing function for geometric operations is considered: offsetting, selftheoretic and metamorphosis. The characteristic of complex operations for functionally specified objects with the use of perturbation functions: bending and torsion of bodies. Flexibility and versatility of this approach is illustrated by examples of images obtained in the simulation of geometric operations.

This paper presents a novel rectenna design for hybrid energy harvesting, optimized using a binary genetic algorithm (BGA) with binary coding to improve geometry, impedance matching, and radiation efficiency. The fabricated rectenna achieves reflection coefficients below −40 dB at 2.45 and 5.8 GHz, demonstrating excellent impedance matching. A commercial rectifier (Powercast P21XXCSR-EVB), employing a voltage doubler topology and Schottky diodes (Skyworks SMS7630 and Avago HSMS 285B), is integrated for RF-to-DC conversion. Peak efficiencies of 90% at 2.45 GHz and 52% at 5.8 GHz are recorded at 11 dBm input power, while efficiencies above 80% and 50%, respectively, are maintained at 0 dBm. The rectifier also exhibits wide impedance bandwidths, with reflection coefficients of −23 dB and −18 dB at the respective frequencies. Outdoor testing yields DC output voltages of 92.6 mV (2.45 GHz) and 64 mV (5.8 GHz). The system's efficiency and adaptability under variable conditions make it ideal for low-power applications such as wireless sensor networks, Internet of Things devices, and remote monitoring. Its robust performance across environments highlights its potential for autonomous energy harvesting in 5G and sub-6 GHz networks. In this paper, we present a complete description of the hardware design and control architecture of our custom built quadruped robot, called the Stoch. Our goal is to realize a robust, modular, and a reliable quadrupedal platform, using which various locomotion behaviors are explored. This platform enables us to explore different research problems in legged locomotion, which use both traditional and learning based techniques. We discuss the merits and limitations of the platform in terms of exploitation of available behaviours, fast rapid prototyping, reproduction and repair. Towards the end, we will demonstrate trotting, bounding behaviors, and preliminary results in turning.
