Ever since mobile applications were developed and became popular, they have started to take part in almost every field of our lives. Healthcare is one of the most popular fields that mobile applications have become a part of. However, development of mobile healthcare applications requires an inter-disciplinary work on which people from different domains should communicate. To do so efficiently, mobile application instructions should be provided as clearly as possible so that mutual understanding can be achieved. This study, aims to provide a methodology to provide the common grounds for healthcare and IT specialists so that to improve the satisfaction level of all the stakeholders of the system from the provided IT services and the end-user interfaces. In other words, by providing a better communication medium for the stakeholders during the design phase, we believe that software development process will be improved, so do their satisfaction from the developed system. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

Ontology-based Vietnamese WordNet (OVW) has an extremely important role for most of areas relating to Vietnamese language processing. In this paper, we supplement some structural changes to enrich the structure of Ontology-based WordNet and use it to develop the OVW. A consensus-based collaboration method with reliability measurement is proposed for collaborative OVW building. The knowledge contributed through collaborative processes by participants is considered as in consistent data for our consensus method to make a reconciled version. In experiment, OVW is automatically initialized by using Vietnamese word list. Participants collaborate to improve this initial version via our system. To evaluate our method, we compare the accuracy rate of OVW and Vietnamese WordNet using Asian WordNet's approach. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

The present phenomenon of technology convergence is blurring away the frontiers between the Internet and the TV, operating a shift on the way TV is consumed. TV viewers have now access to a huge selection of TV programming as well as online contents, either previously broadcasted or natively produced for the Internet. This reality creates new necessities whilst opening new opportunities for the creation of services capable of filtering this information and presenting the user with the most relevant content. This article describes an innovative hybrid strategy for delivering recommendations of TV content to individual users. It was developed specifically for the TV entertainment services of hotels, but it can be applied to any multimedia consumption service. Without requiring users to explicitly rate the programs they have watched, it is still able to recommend similar programs to similar users. It adopts an improved Pearson correlation method to establish similarities between different users, comparing profiles that have been automatically generated based on the user viewing history. It builds a predicted user profile, which is then used within a content-based approach to generate recommendations.

Due to the increasing number of conferences, researchers need to spend more and more time browsing through the respective calls for papers (CFPs) to identify those conferences which might be of interest to them. In this paper we study several content-based techniques to filter CFPs retrieved from the web. To this end, we explore how to exploit the information available in a typical CFP: a short introductory text, topics in the scope of the conference, and the names of the people in the program committee. While the introductory text and the topics can be directly used to model the document (e.g. to derive a tf-idf weighted vector), the names of the members of the program committee can be used in several indirect ways. One strategy we pursue in particular is to take into account the papers that these people have recently written. Along similar lines, to find out the research interests of the users, and thus to decide which CFPs to select, we look at the abstracts of the papers that they have recently written. We compare and contrast a number of approaches based on the vector space model and on generative language models. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

In this paper, a novel miniaturized UHF Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag dipole antenna is proposed. Its original structure consists on a series of parallel arms connected to a perpendicular line at their ends. This configuration allows decreasing the physical length of the dipole antenna. A short stub is used at the input to provide a flexible impedance tuning. Two antennas were designed with different sizes. The first antenna, designed for both North American and European bands, has a size of 76.5 mm times 16 mm. The second designed antenna operates in the North American band and has a size of 48.5 mm times 25.5 mm. The two antennas exhibit respective efficiencies of 85 per cent and 74 per cent, making them suitable for RFID applications. © 2013 IEEE.

In recent, domestic livestock farms are receiving enormous damages through various livestock diseases that are highly contagious such as foot-and-mouth disease and avian influenza (AI). Additionally, they are experiencing difficulties also financially as a result of decrease in income from production cost increase. This paper will propose a livestock disease forecasting system for diagnosing in advance livestock disease status in real-time through image information of livestock by using thermal image camera. The proposed system can extract livestock temperature information through images collected from thermal image camera to diagnose in advance livestock disease status through Android-based smart phone. Based on this, it is expected to contribute to the enhancement of the productivity of livestock farms and their competitiveness by minimizing damages from livestock disease by preventing disease damages in advance. ©2013 SERSC.

computer system security is one of the most popular and the fastest evolving Information Technology (IT) areas. Protection of information access, availability and data integrity represents the basic security characteristics desired on information sources. Any disruption of these properties would result in system intrusion and the related security risk. Advanced decoy based technology called Honeypot has a huge potential for the security community and can achieve several goals of other security technologies, which makes it almost universal. Paper is devoted to sophisticated hybrid Honeypot with autonomous feature that allows to, based on the collected system parameters, adapt to the system of deployment. By its presence Honeypot attracts attacker by simulating vulnerabilities and poor security. After initiation of interaction Honeypot will record all attacker activities and after data analysis allows improving security in computer systems.

One of the most widespread techniques to evaluate various aspects of a manufacturing system is discrete-event simulation (DES). However, building a simulation model of a manufacturing system is a difficult task and needs great resource expenditures. Automated data collection and model buildup can drastically reduce the time of the design phase as well as support model reusability. Since most of the manufacturing systems are controlled by low level controllers (e.g., PLCs, CNCs) they inherently store structure and control logic of the system to be modeled by a DES system. The paper introduces an ongoing research of PLC code processing method for automatic ISA standard simulation model generation of a conveyor system of a leading automotive factory. Results of the validation process and simulation experiments are also described through a case study.

Multicast authentication is a challenging problem, since it requires the verification of the sender by a large number of recipients. In literature, there are many solutions to solve this problem. Some of these solutions suffer from high communication and computation overheads, others suffer from packet loss and pollution attacks. The proposed solutions are divided into two approaches: the first is to design more efficient signature schemes and the second is to amortize the cost of signature over several packets. Other solutions are based on signcryption techniques which aim to simultaneously achieve the basic goals of encryption and signature schemes, namely confidentiality, authentication and non-repudiation. Although, the use of signcryption techniques enhances communication and computation overheads, this solution suffers from the inability to resist packet loss. This is due to the fact that all the block of packets must be received by the designated recipients before performing authentication. In the present paper, we propose a protocol that is based on the idea of amortizing the signcrypted text over several packets. The new protocol uses signcryption technique to provide both authenticity and confidentiality, and to resist pollution attack. In order to resist packet loss, the proposed protocol uses erasure code functions. The proposed protocol is compared to other authentication protocols. The comparison shows that the proposed protocol can resist packet loss and pollution attacks with low communication and computation overheads, which make it suitable for real-time applications.
