This paper present a study of the effects of frequency converters to the power grid and a possible solution for current distortions compensation. Experimental measurements made, at different points of the grid, with the device Fluke 434 to a converter which supplies a 110 kW asynchronous motor, reveal the distortions of current. Harmonics content of current for the three phases and THD distortion factor emphasize the existence of strong distortions of current. Current compensation method, proposed and simulated, consists in collecting a sample of non-sinusoidal current from the inverter input resistance or using a current transformer, which will be decreased from a sinusoidal reference signal. This difference is amplified and synchronized, so that it can be injected back into the grid. Simulations above described method are made in Matlab-Simulink Power Systems.

This paper introduces an overview of possible use of evolutionary techniques on catastrophic events detection. Catastrophic events here means Thom's catastrophes that are part of chaotic dynamics and can be used to model bifurcations, that appears in the nonlinear behavior of various dynamical systems. Participation summarize yet obtained results as well as demonstration of another possible EAs use to detect Thom's catastrophes.

Reordering is of essential importance for phrase based statistical machine translation. In this paper, we would like to present a new method of reordering in phrase based statistical machine translation. We inspired from [1] using preprocessing reordering approaches. We used shallow parsing and transformation rules to reorder the source sentence. The experiment results from English-Vietnamese pair showed that our approach achieves significant improvements over MOSES which is the state-of-the art phrase based system. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

It was found that the non-perturbative corrections calculated using Pythia with the Perugia 2011 tune did not include the effect of the underlying event. The affected correction factors were recomputed using the Pythia 6.427 generator. These corrections are applied as baseline to the NLO pQCD calculations and thus the central values of the theoretical predictions have changed by a few percent with the new corrections. This has a minor impact on the agreement between the data and the theoretical predictions. Figures 2 and 6 to 13, and all the tables have been updated with the new values. A few sentences in the discussion in sections 5.2 and 9 were altered or removed.

Efficient processing power reservation approach to imporove real-time task schedulability and relaibaility

Efficient utilization of the computational resources is an urgent demand especially if real time constraints should be guaranteed. Moreover, an acceptable level of reliability should be provided due to the critical nature of some real time applications. This paper proposes a new approach for processing power reservations that efficiently utilizes all the available processing power to improve reliability and schedulability of independent real time tasks on a uniprocessor. The basic idea of the proposed approach is to use all of the available processing power in the time interval between the arrivals of two successive tasks or when an existing task departs. The advantages of this mechanism are: 1) it reduces the execution time required for each task and hence increases its reliability. 2) At the arrival of a new task;the processing power requirements for the executing tasks to meet their deadlines are smaller, which gives the new arriving tasks higher chances to be accommodated with the existing ones. 3) Efficient processing power utilization may reduce the power consumption in processors with dynamic voltage scaling. An illustration example and simulation experiments showed that our approach provides a more reliable scheduling scheme with higher acceptance rate compared to the traditional approach based on Rialto operating system. © 2012 International Journal of computer Science Issues.

In this paper, we propose an Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm, a swarm-based artificial intelligence algorithm, for computing a connected dominating set (CDS) in wireless networks. ABC Algorithm is an optimization algorithm based on the intelligent behavior of honey bee swarm. Wireless ad hoc networks appear in a wide variety of applications. In this work ABC algorithm is used for optimizing heuristic algorithm for the connected dominating set problem in wireless environment. This approach guarantees properties of correctness, locality, and also has better throughput than cyclic iterative local solution (ILS). Extensive simulations are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in static environments.

Triple Play service is now one of the most important services for Telecom operators. This service contains: IPTV, VoIP, VoD, Internet and in some cases even fixed telephony and mobile telephony. The aim of Telecom operators is to improve this service by introducing some new subservices to get better business results. One example of these subservices is a Hosting service. This paper describes the process of introducing of Hosting system in one Telecom operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina and compares business results of Telecom operators without a Hosting service and with a Hosting service which is integrated into Triple Play. This paper has a scientific value because it describes steps of introducing Hosting service into Triple Play and describes the importance of Hosting service for Telecom operators.

In this paper we are dealing with the morphological matrix applied at the selection of the most appropriate solution of the manipulator travel frame design projection. The morphology enables to analyze all the solutions that may occur during both the development and the construction of the equipment. In particular it is useful at the machine and the mechanics constructions. The morphology concerns the analysis and the permutations of any possible solutions of the construction element development. This method is characterized by creation of the prognosis and the partial data matrix formations. Based on the permutations and the combinations of the respective elements characteristics the general characteristic is resulting. The morphological analysis consists of several phases. Initially it is necessary to make the exact description of the examined task. Following is the determination of the characteristic attributes thus the attributes and their combinations what the solution is depending on. Moreover are considering the impact and the effect of the respective parameters and the same their combinations regarding the most applicable solution.

Integrating a large number of embedded memories in System-on-Chips (SoC's) occupies up to more than 70% of the die size, thus requiring Built-In Self-Test (BIST) with the smallest possible area overhead. This paper analyzes MATS++(6N), March C-(10N), March SR(14N), and March CL(12N) test algorithms and shows that they cannot detect either Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) or Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) or both. Therefore to improve fault detection, an automation program is developed based on sequence operation (SQ) generation rules. However after solving the undetected fault, the outcome in term of its detection result of Static Double Cell Faults using the specified test algorithm especially Transition Coupling Faults (CFtrs), Write Destructive Coupling Faults (CFwds), Read Destructive Coupling Faults (CFrds) and Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (CFdrds) are observed.
