Communication network expansion technology using autonomous robot covers three research fields which includes network expansion, network routing, and localization. On this research, we implement an efficient robot formation and network expansion algorithm on a simulator based on Open Dynamics Engine (ODE) library. We extended the robot formation algorithm to handle multiple sources implementation to keep communication linkage between communication towers. We also developed a network routing algorithm and implement the robot formation algorithm on real autonomous robots hardware. The result of simulation shows that our proposed communication network expansion technology is visible to be implemented. Therefore, we designed an autonomous robot meeting the requirement set in the simulation.

Intelligent agents are able to assist human in managing highly dynamic and complex systems in various knowledge intensive domains. The communication between different agents interacting in an integrated multi-agents system can be managed through a set of steering rules, which together form interaction protocols. To support the negotiation, communication and interaction between different intelligent agents, using an appropriate knowledge representation formalism is crucial. This paper introduces the potential of category theory as a formal representation vehicle to facilitate evolutionary analysis of agent interaction and negotiation for managing evolving ontologies in the domain of biomedicine. Utilizing categories supports agents' communication, negotiation, state transitions, compositions and transformations in different levels of abstractions.

In this case study, the ingestion and subsequent metabolism of a medication in an individual are examined through computational modeling and simulation. A multi-compartment model is used to study ingestion, distribution, and metabolism of a medication in an individual. This paper provides background information on the mechanism of action of medication in pharmacological terms and the significance of pharmacokinetic parameters in determining the efficacy of a medication, in particular, the medication that is ingested orally. The orally taken medication enters the gastrointestinal tract from where it is then distributed throughout the bloodstream of the individual to be metabolized and eliminated.

An adequate system for collecting and analyzing software metric results is crucial for the successful interpretation of software characteristics during the software development process. Furthermore, the right interpretation can also identify poor quality in complex modules within software systems. However, there is a gap between raw metrics data and the right interpretation of them. In this paper, the integration of a language independent metric tool (SMIILE prototype [9]) for metrics data extraction and the software metrics repository for storing and analyzing extracted data will be described. With this integration we hope to overcome some of the difficulties that application of sofware metrics experienced in practice.

Implementing and deploying a complete multi-agent system in whatever domain, especially those that are inherently complex and dynamic, is undoubtedly a very hard and time-consuming task. This paper analyzes the adequacy of traditional approaches in the field of Agent-Oriented Software engineering to create adequate multi-agent systems applicable to the transportation domain. Our findings suggested that, albeit some approaches are intended to be generic enough to represent a wide range of different domains, intelligent transportation systems and more specifically the whole complexity of future urban transport are not totally supported. We propose a novel methodology where the concept of services is considered as peer of agents, ambient and processes. Also services rise as prominent elements in the modeling phase. The approach, illustrated as a typical scenario in the transport domain, is instantiated, which serves to clarify the whole process and main concepts in our modeling methodology.

An algorithmic framework is developed for automatic deployment of car-like robots based on Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) formulae over a set of regions of interest in the environment. The environment and the regions of interest are a priori known, and the robot has non-negligible size and restricted steering capabilities. The approach relies on constructing a probabilistic finite-state abstraction of the car-like robot and on finding a trajectory (run) in this abstraction such that the probability of satisfying the LTL formula is maximized. The feasibility of our approach is supported by simulations under Matlab environment.
