The article presents an MDA approach for upgrading e-health applications, based on QVTo mapping which is defined by OMG as the language used to model the transformation. Its purpose is to transform abstract models into concrete ones so that the reader can understand how the complete transformation takes place. The work focuses on the modernization of eHealth applications by applying MDE principles, techniques and tools. To do so, a comparative study was conducted to see the difference between eHealth 2.0 and eHealth 3.0 applications. EHealth 2.0 applications are characterized by the use of social web, wikis, blogs. As for the 3.0 applications, they rely on artificial intelligence and semantic web in addition to web 2.0 properties. So, a development process is proposed that takes as input two PIM models, derived from both UML and IFML standards, and as output the two PSM models that respect ODM and HTML5 respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Patient privacy and data protection have been crucial concerns in Ehealthcare systems for many *** modern-day applications,patient data usually holds clinical imagery,records,and other medical ***,the Internet of Medical Things(IoMT),equipped with cloud computing,has come out to be a beneficial paradigm in the healthcare ***,the openness of networks and systems leads to security threats and illegal ***,reliable,fast,and robust security methods need to be developed to ensure the safe exchange of healthcare data generated from various image sensing and other IoMT-driven devices in the IoMT *** paper presents an image protection scheme for healthcare applications to protect patients’medical image data exchanged in IoMT *** proposed security scheme depends on an enhanced 2D discrete chaotic map and allows dynamic substitution based on an optimized highly-nonlinear S-box and diffusion to gain an excellent security *** optimized S-box has an excellent nonlinearity score of *** new image protection scheme is efficient enough to exhibit correlation values less than 0.0022,entropy values higher than 7.999,and NPCR values around 99.6%.To reveal the efficacy of the scheme,several comparison studies are *** comparison studies reveal that the novel protection scheme is robust,efficient,and capable of securing healthcare imagery in IoMT systems.

The accurate prediction of the friction angle of clays is crucial for assessing slope stability in engineering *** study addresses the importance of estimating the friction angle and presents the development of four soft computing models:YJ-FPA-MLPnet,YJ-CRO-MLPnet,YJ-ACOC-MLPnet,and *** of all,the Yeo-Johnson(YJ)transformation technique was used to stabilize the variance of data and make it more suitable for parametric statistical models that assume normality and equal *** technique is expected to improve the accuracy of friction angle prediction *** friction angle prediction models then utilized multi-layer perceptron neural networks(MLPnet)and metaheuristic optimization algorithms to further enhance performance,including flower pollination algorithm(FPA),coral reefs optimization(CRO),ant colony optimization continuous(ACOC),and cuckoo search algorithm(CSA).The prediction models without the YJ technique,***-MLPnet,CRO-MLPnet,ACOC-MLPnet,and CSA-MLPnet,were then compared to those with the YJ technique,***-FPA-MLPnet,YJ-CRO-MLPnet,YJ-ACOC-MLPnet,and *** these,the YJ-CRO-MLPnet model demonstrated superior reliability,achieving an accuracy of up to 83%in predicting the friction angle of clay in practical engineering *** improvement is significant,as it represents an increase from 1.3%to approximately 20%compared to the models that did not utilize the YJ transformation technique.

Boosting KNN Classifier Performance with Opposition-Based Data Transformation

In this paper, we introduce a novel data transformation framework based on Opposition-Based Learning (OBL) to boost the performance of traditional classification algorithms. Originally developed to accelerate convergence in optimization tasks, OBL is leveraged here to generate synthetic opposite samples that enrich the training data and improve decision boundary formation. We explore three OBL variants—Global OBL, Class-Wise OBL, and Localized Class-Wise OBL—and integrate them with K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). Extensive experiments conducted on 26 heterogeneous and high-dimensional datasets demonstrate that OBL-enhanced classifiers consistently outperform the basic KNN. These findings underscore the potential of OBL as a lightweight yet powerful data transformation strategy for enhancing classification performance, especially in complex or sparse learning environments. © 2025, CC BY.

Multi-Instance Learning (MIL) is a weakly supervised learning paradigm, in which every training example is a labeled bag of unlabeled instances. In typical MIL applications, instances are often used for describing the features of regions/parts in a whole object, e.g., regional patches/lesions in an eye-fundus image. However, for a (semantically) complex part the standard MIL formulation puts a heavy burden on the representation ability of the corresponding instance. To alleviate this pressure, we still adopt a bag-of-instances as an example in this paper, but extract from each instance a set of representations using 1 times1 convolutions. The advantages of this tactic are two-fold: i) This set of representations can be regarded as multi-view representations for an instance;ii) Compared to building multi-view representations directly from scratch, extracting them automatically using 1 times1 convolutions is more economical, and may be more effective since 1 times1 convolutions can be embedded into the whole network. Furthermore, we apply two consecutive multi-instance pooling operations on the reconstituted bag that has actually become a bag of sets of multi-view representations. We have conducted extensive experiments on several canonical MIL data sets from different application domains. The experimental results show that the proposed framework outperforms the standard MIL formulation in terms of classification performance and has good interpretability. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, deep multi-instance neural networks have been successfully applied for medical image classification, where only image-level labels rather than fine-grained patch-level labels are available for use. One key issue for these multi-instance neural networks is how to aggregate all patch (instance) features into an entire image (bag) representation, referred to as multi-instance pooling, e.g., max, mean, and attention based pooling. Nevertheless, these multi-instance pooling operations do not take the structural information within an image into account. This is obviously inappropriate for medical image classification since there often exist certain dependencies among regional patches/lesions. We propose an adaptive recurrent pooling based deep multi-instance neural network in this paper. In this network, we first extract multi-view global structural features from every bag using the self-attention mechanism, and then aggregate these multi-view features into a whole bag representation based on the adaptive recurrent pooling operation in order to further capture the contextual information within the bag. Moreover, we introduce the cross-normalization operation used in the Unit Force Operated vision Transformer into the self-attention module to reduce its computational complexity. We have experimentally evaluated the performance of the proposed network on three medical image datasets, namely UCSB breast, Messidor, and Colon cancer. The results demonstrate the advantage of our network over current state-of-the-art deep multi-instance networks in terms of classification accuracy and interpretability. © 2022 IEEE.

Although there are advanced technologies for character recognition, automatic descriptive answer evaluation is an open challenge for the document image analysis community due to large diversified handwritten text and answers to the question. This paper presents a novel method for detecting anomaly handwritten text in the responses written by the students to the questions. The method is proposed based on the fact that when the students are confident in answering questions, the students usually write answers legibly and neatly while they are not confident, they write sloppy writing which may not be easy for the reader to understand. To detect such anomaly handwritten text, we explore a new combination of Fourier transform and deep learning model for detecting edges. This result preserves the structure of handwritten text. For extracting features for classification of anomaly text and normal text, the proposed method studies the behavior of writing style, especially the variation at ascenders and descenders. Therefore, the proposed work draws principal axis which is invariant to rotation, scaling and some extent to distortion for the edge images. With respect to principal axis, the proposed method draws medial axis using uppermost and lowermost points. The distance between the medial axis and principal axis points are considered as feature vector. Further, the feature vector is passed to Artificial Neural Network for classification of anomaly text. The proposed method is evaluated by testing on our own dataset, standard dataset of gender identification (IAM) and handwritten forgery detection dataset (ACPR 2019). The results on different datasets show that the proposed work outperforms the existing methods. © 2022 ACM.

Linear Subspace Surrogate Modeling for Large-Scale Expensive Single/Multi-Objective Optimization

Despite that the surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms have achieved great success in addressing expensive optimization problems, they still suffer from stiff challenges when the number of dimensions of problems becomes large. The primary reason lies in that it is very hard to build an acceptable surrogate model in the high-dimensional search space with small amounts of evaluated historical data in evolution. To tackle this issue, we suggest an effective surrogate modeling method for large-scale expensive optimization in this paper, where the models are built on a number of linear subspaces instead of the original search space. Specifically, a linear subspace is constructed by a pair of points/solutions which are generated based on the set of elite solutions. For each linear subspace, several historical solutions are first associated according to their distance to the linear subspace, and then a surrogate model is trained by the associated solutions and used to evaluate the offspring. To ensure the exploration and exploitation capacity of the proposed method, these linear subspaces and the surrogate models are updated after a few iterations. Experimental results on CEC’2010 and CEC’2013 single-objective optimization problems with up to 1500 decision variables show that the proposed algorithm is superior over six comparison algorithms. Moreover, we also extend the proposed algorithm to multi-objective optimization problems and verified its competitiveness on problems with up to 1500 decision variables. IEEE

Most neonatal deaths occur at the age of 0-6 days (78.5%) and prematurity is one of the main causes of infant death in Indonesia, ranking fifth in the number of premature births. A baby incubator is very necessary to help premature babies adapt to their new environment. An incubator is a health care tool for critical/premature neonates that provides warmth and humidity according to the needs of newborns under controlled conditions. A portable baby incubator monitoring system using wifi as a communication medium to monitor babies, equipped with a DS18B20 sensor to measure the baby's body temperature, an AD8232 sensor to measure the baby's heartbeat and an ESP32 Cam to capture the baby's face has been created. The test results showed that this incubator was able to detect the baby's body temperature, the baby's heartbeat and take the baby's face remotely using an Android-based smartphone, weighs around 5.8 kg, has a simple design, can be carried around making it easier for medical personnel to carry out supervision premature baby. © 2023 IEEE.
