The 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion converts an image into 3D representation to attain high-fidelity reconstruction and facilitate realistic image manipulation within the 3D latent space. However, previous approaches face challenges regarding the trade-off between the reconstruction ability and editability. That is, reversing a real-world image to a low-dimensional latent code would inevitably lead to information loss, and achieving a near-perfect reconstruction using high-rate triplane representation often limits the ability to manipulate the image freely in the latent space. To address these issues, we propose a novel latent conditioning encoder-based framework with the alignment between the low-dimensional latent and high-dimensional triplane. A non-semantic guided editing strategy bridges the intrinsic relation between the latent condition and triplane generation, making it possible to edit the high-dimensional representation by latent manipulation. As a result, our method can achieve high-fidelity reconstruction and editing simultaneously by directly controlling the latent code. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach excels in reconstruction and editing quality compared to previous 3D inversion methods. Furthermore, our method can also edit even real faces with large poses and out-of-domain cases.

Towards data warehouse from open data: Case of COVID-19

Since December 2019, we have detected the appearance of a new virus called COVID-19, which has spread, throughout the world. Everyone today, has given major importance to this new virus. Although we have little knowledge of the disease, doctors and specialists make decisions every day that have a significant impact on public health. There are many and various open data in this context, which are scattered and distributed. For this, we need to capitalize all the information in a data warehouse. For that, in this paper, we propose an approach to create a data warehouse from open data specifically from COVID-19 data. We start with the identification of the relevant sources from the various open data. Then, we collect the pertinent data. After that, we identify the multidimensional concepts used to design the data warehouse schema related to COVID-19 data. Finally, we transform our data warehouse to logical model and create our NoSQL data warehouse with Talend Open Studio for Big Data (TOS_BD). © 2021 - The authors. Published by IOS Press.

Recently, researchers have achieved significant results in the skeleton based action recognition task. To better model the skeleton sequences, existing methods learned the feature representations in the self-supervised setting by solving pretext tasks, such as predicting the order of a shuffled skeleton sequence or verifying whether a given skeleton sequence is shuffled or not. However, these pretext tasks are either too challenging or too easy for the encoder to obtain a proper skeleton representation for action recognition. Therefore, we propose a novel self-pretraining pretext task, Which One Is Better (WOIB), to identify which one is more temporally coherent, given two shuffled skeleton sequences. Experiments on the NTU RGB+D, NTU RGB+D 120, and Kinetics-Skeleton datasets with different network architectures show significant improvements in recognition accuracy, demonstrating that such a well-designed pretext task is general and able to drive the encoder to learn more discriminative representations.

Talking face generation (TFG) allows for producing lifelike talking videos of any character using only facial images and accompanying text. Abuse of this technology could pose significant risks to society, creating the urgent need for research into corresponding detection methods. However, research in this field has been hindered by the lack of public datasets. In this paper, we construct the first large-scale multi-scenario talking face dataset (MSTF), which contains 22 audio and video forgery techniques, filling the gap of datasets in this field. The dataset covers 11 generation scenarios and more than 20 semantic scenarios, closer to the practical application scenario of TFG. Besides, we also propose a TFG detection framework, which leverages the analysis of both global and local coherence in the multimodal content of TFG videos. Therefore, a region-focused smoothness detection module (RSFDM) and a discrepancy capture-time frame aggregation module (DCTAM) are introduced to evaluate the global temporal coherence of TFG videos, aggregating multi-grained spatial information. Additionally, a visual-audio fusion module (V-AFM) is designed to evaluate audiovisual coherence within a localized temporal perspective. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate the reasonableness and challenges of our datasets, while also indicating the superiority of our proposed method compared to the state-of-the-art deepfake detection approaches. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). In the last decades, time series classification (TSC) has emerged as one of the most challenging issues in data mining, and extensive studies have been done on various methods, including algorithm-based and learning-based techniques. Sensor-based human activity recognition (HAR) is a TSC issue that has become one of the most sought-after fields among business and academia specialists because of the proliferation of smartphone technology and wearable movement sensors. Conventional approaches to feature extraction provide a significant challenge in feature selection. Deep learning is an efficient strategy in the HAR scientific field and has solved the issue of feature selection. Nevertheless, several obstacles remain to study topics, including classifier interpretation. This article integrates well-known deep learning methods, namely convolutional neural networks and RNN-based models. The new approach proved to be more effective than the existing state-of-the-art approach. We assessed our network on the multivariant time-series benchmark (UCI-HAR) and revealed that our model surpasses other models in terms of training time and overall accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

Weapon detection is a difficult task that requires accurate identification of weapon objects in images. The object localization approach is mostly used because it combines a gradient with a convolutional layer to create a map of key locations on the image. This paper presents an Eigen-CAM method to localize and detect objects in an image for a Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (Faster R-CNN) residual neural network (ResNet 50) model, giving a visual explanation. The Internet Movie Firearms Database (IMFDB) was used to train a deep learning model with the Faster R-CNN ResNet 50 model of the pre-trained PyTorch framework. Experimental results indicated that the Faster R-CNN ResNet 50 model achieved the highest mAP of 0.497 with 0.5 IoU. The Eigen-CAM method performed effectively for visual image representation. © 2022 IEEE.

In current granular clustering algorithms, numeric representatives were selected by users or an ordinary strategy, which seemed simple; meanwhile, weight settings for granular data could not adequately express their structural characteristics. Aiming at these problems, in this study, a new scheme called a granular weighted kernel fuzzy clustering (GWKFC) algorithm is put forward. We propose the representative selection and granularity generation (RSGG) algorithm enlightened by the density peak clustering (DPC) algorithm. We build interval and triangular granular data on the strength of numeric representatives obtained by RSGG under the principle of justifiable granularity (PJG), in which we establish some combinations of functions and boundary constraints and prove their properties. Furthermore, we present a novel distance formula via the kernel function for granular data and design new weights to affect the coverage and specificity of granular data. In addition, based upon these factors, we come up with the GWKFC algorithm of granular clustering, and its performance with different granularity is assessed. To sum up, a macro framework involving granular modeling, granular clustering, and assessment has been set up. Lastly, the GWKFC algorithm and ten other granular clustering algorithms are compared by experiments on some artificial and UCI datasets together with datasets with large data or those of high dimensionality. It is found that the GWKFC algorithm can provide better granular clustering results by contrast with other algorithms. The originality is embodied as follows. First, we improve the previous density radius and present the RSGG algorithm to acquire numeric representatives. Second, we propose a new strategy to determine granular data boundaries and further obtain novel weights enlightened by the idea of volume. The aim of this work is to study two classes of stochastic fractional differential equations via the application of the method of upper and lower solutions combined with the Arzela-Ascoli theorem. We begin by proving an auxiliary result for the integral representation of an Airy-type stochastic problem. The specific symmetry features of an Airy-type stochastic problem depend on the form of the stochastic differential equations (SDE) and the relevant coefficients, it is vital to note. To comprehend each issue’s unique symmetries and their effects, a thorough investigation is necessary. Then, we prove an existence result for extremal solutions for the same problem. Another class of stochastic equations of higher-order type is also studied. We also present some examples to show the validity of the obtained results. In the few-shot hyperspectral image (HSI) classification, most current models don't fully utilize the advantage of spectral-spatial feature fusion, resulting in low classification accuracy. Therefore, we propose a few-shot HSI classification model with spectral-spatial feature fusion based on fuzzy broad learning system (FBLS) (FSFBLS). Firstly, we use a Gaussian filter to suppress noise while smoothing spectral features based on spatial information to achieve the first fusion of spectral-spatial features. Secondly, we use FBLS with fuzzy rules to fully model the complex mapping relationship between spectral-spatial features and HSI labels to complete HSI classification. The fuzzy processing can extract rich discriminative features to enhance the recognition of different categories. Finally, the guided filter corrects the misclassified samples of FBLS based on the guided image to achieve the second fusion of spectral-spatial features. Extensive experimental results on three public datasets demonstrate that FSFBLS achieves state-of-the-art classification performance compared to nine popular models.
