Let H be the Cartesian product of a family of finite abelian groups. Via a polynomial approach, we give sufficient conditions for a partition of H induced by weighted poset metric to be reflexive, which also become necessary for some special scenarios. Moreover, by examining the roots of the Krawtchouk polynomials, we give sufficient conditions for a partition of H induced by combinatorial metric to be non-reflexive, and then give several examples of non-reflexive partitions. When H is a vector space over a finite field F, we consider the property of admitting MacWilliams identity (PAMI) and the MacWilliams extension property (MEP) for partitions of H. More specifically, under some invariance assumptions, we show that two partitions of H admit MacWilliams identity if and only if they are mutually dual and reflexive, and any partition of H satisfying MEP is in fact an orbit partition induced by some subgroup of Aut F(H), which is necessarily reflexive. Furthermore, we show that the aforementioned non-reflexive partitions induced by combinatorial metric do not satisfy MEP, which further enables us to disprove a conjecture proposed by Pinheiro et al., (2019). © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Extracting buildings from remote sensing images using deep learning techniques is a widely applied and crucial task. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) adopt hierarchical feature representation, showcasing powerful capabilities in extracting local information but facing challenges in capturing global features. Transformers can address this limitation, but they perform poorly in extracting local features and significantly increase memory requirements and computational complexity. To overcome these challenges, we propose a method for building extraction from remote sensing images called LGDB-Net (Local-Global Dual-Branch Network), employing a dual-branch approach. Firstly, inspired by Swin Transformer, we designed GB-Former(Global Branch-Former) as the backbone network to model global information. We use a linear multi-head self-attention mechanism to reduce time and memory complexity while maintaining a large global receptive field. Additionally, we replace the traditional multi-layer perceptron with a convolution-enhanced multi-layer perceptron to improve channel feature representation, reduce model parameters, and enhance segmentation performance. Secondly, we use multiple Depth-wise Conv3×3 + LN (Layer Normalization) + GeLU (Gaussian Error Linear Unit) modules as the auxiliary branch for local detailed feature extraction. Finally, we adopt a multi-scale feature fusion strategy to integrate feature information from both branches. We conduct a series of experiments on three datasets: WHU, Massachusetts, and Inria. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method not only effectively improves segmentation accuracy with lower building omission and commission rates but also significantly reduces model parameters and computational complexity.

Object detection in aerial images has garnered significant attention from the research community in recent years. The challenges posed by small objects, diverse orientations, and complex backgrounds have spurred extensive research efforts. In this paper, we focus on object detection in a YOLOv7-based framework, to address the issue of overlapping predicted regions, we introduce and apply the Soft-NMS (Non-Maximum Suppression) technique, a post-processing method known for its effectiveness in improving detection accuracy in such scenarios. Soft-NMS adjusts bounding box scores based on the extent of overlap, allowing for more accurate localization of objects in densely populated regions. Furthermore, we present comprehensive experimental results to validate the efficacy of our proposed approach. The analyses encompass a thorough evaluation on the UCAS Aerial Object Detection (UCAS AOD) dataset, comprising over 1500 aerial images captured from diverse perspectives. Our method has demonstrated an improvement in object detection performance, particularly in scenarios with closely positioned objects. The proposed framework showcases its ability to handle complex aerial scenes with higher precision and recall rates compared to conventional methods. © 2023 ACM.

Move structures have been studied in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for decades. However, there are few move annotation corpora for Research Article (RA) abstracts. In this paper, we introduce RAAMove, a comprehensive multi-domain corpus dedicated to the annotation of move structures in RA abstracts. The primary objective of RAAMove is to facilitate move analysis and automatic move identification. This paper provides a thorough discussion of the corpus construction process, including the scheme, data collection, annotation guidelines, and annotation procedures. The corpus is constructed through two stages: initially, expert annotators manually annotate high-quality data;subsequently, based on the human-annotated data, a BERT-based model is employed for automatic annotation with the help of experts' modification. The result is a large-scale and high-quality corpus comprising 33,988 annotated instances. We also conduct preliminary move identification experiments using the BERT-based model to verify the effectiveness of the proposed corpus and model. The annotated corpus is available for academic research purposes and can serve as essential resources for move analysis, English language teaching and writing, as well as move/discourse-related tasks in Natural Language Processing (NLP). © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

The Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) has a flexible structure, extending the number of voltage levels on the AC side. This structure has many advantages such as low switching frequency, and a smaller number of transistor valves. Therefore, the MMC converter makes it easy to apply control algorithms and is widely applied to high-voltage power grids. This paper presents the control method of an MMC converter on the AC side, with 10 Sub-modules (SM) in each phase to generate 21 voltage levels. The process is performed by the current control method based on Finite Control Set - Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC). With the advantage of fast response, optimizing the converter's working process by predicting the working states of the converter, according to the model, the FCS-MPC control algorithm has been used in this model. The results of the proposed method are proven by using Matlab/Simulink software. The results have shown the requirements of the DC/AC converter such as sinusoidal current, and voltage with 21 voltages. © 2023 IEEE.

Pattern Transformation of Low-Profile Multi-Mode Antenna for A Phased Array with Simultaneous Wide-Angle Scanning and High-Gain Properties

In this article, a novel multi-mode design approach for pattern transformation of low-profile multi-mode microstrip patch antenna (MPA) has been proposed and developed, aiming to simultaneously achieve the wide-angle scanning and high-gain properties for a phased array. Herein, the TM00, TM01, TM20, and TM21 modes of the MPA are employed. Firstly, the working principle about how to move these four modes closely to each other in resonant frequency is deeply studied, the results prove that the shorting pins and slots could be loaded on the radiator for frequency reallocation of these four modes. Secondly, the radiation pattern transformation of the MPA at TM00, TM20, and TM21 modes are deeply investigated, which demonstrates that the non-broadside beam of its TM21 mode could be reshaped into the broadside one, and the omnidirectional pattern of its TM00 mode could be reshaped into the dual beam at yoz-plane. Most importantly, the radiation pattern of its TM20 mode could be rotated into the dual-beam with co-polarized Eθ component at yoz-plane. With these arrangements, the broadside-beam and dual-beam could be excited under same frequency at different modes. Thirdly, based on these two beams with different phases at two ports, the antenna element has successfully gained the improved beam scanning and gain performance simultaneously. Fourthly, the proposed multi-mode array is arranged in a triangular grid. By controlling the phase difference between these ports, the antenna could achieve both wide-beam scanning and high gain. The videoscope (VS) images have poor quality and low contrast. Hence, in this paper, three proposed frameworks to improve the quality of VS images are presented. The first framework depends on contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) with adaptive gamma correction. The second framework depends on homomorphic processing. The third framework is based on the homomorphic enhancement with histogram equalization. Privacy-Preserving 3D Skeleton-Based Video Action Recognition via Graph Convolution Network

In recent years, 3D skeleton data-based human action recognition has attracted an increasing number of researchers because of its high robustness under illumination change and scene variation. However, in 3D skeleton data-based human action recognition, there are still some challenges including multi-object recognition and private data leakage. To address this issue, in this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving end-to-end action recognition model based on a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN). Specifically, we innovatively propose a 3D pose estimation method to obtain 3D human skeleton data from color data streams and depth data streams, in which the mean filtering technique is applied to protect users' video data privacy while not affecting the extraction of the skeleton data. Then, we propose a feature representation method and represent the skeleton data to a GCN model, which convolves the centroid of the human skeleton, four limbs, and the trunk of a person. After that, we propose a method to fuse and extract multiple persons' movement features and propose a novel GCN-based interactive action recognition model to recognize multiple people's skeleton data. Moreover, to protect recognition model privacy, we also design a ciphertext-based secure action recognition method, which guarantees the confidentiality of model parameters during action recognition. Finally, we evaluate the performance of our model in real datasets, and the results demonstrate that our model can achieve high recognition accuracy than existing models. Meanwhile, experimental results demonstrate that the mean filtering technique can well protect the privacy of the appearance data and the information of skeleton data can be well preserved. © 1975-2011 IEEE.
