This article examines the development of a Digital Learning Ecosystem (DLE) for engineering education, supported by online learning, within the framework of Erasmus+ international educational projects. We hypothesize that a DLE can address the challenges posed by rapid technological changes associated with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, thus transforming engineering education to meet modern industry needs. Building on the earlier Erasmus+ CybPhys project, which established a Sharing Modelling and Simulation Environment (SMSE) for digitalizing online technical courses, the DIGITRANS project aims to enhance this architecture to include remote laboratories through the Sharing Remote Experiment Environment (SREE) platform. The project involves acquiring hardware and open-source software for SREE and establishing two physical remote laboratories. A study conducted in spring 2023, using the technology Acceptance Model framework, indicated positive student perceptions of SMSE, with students believing it would enhance learning outcomes and expressing intentions to use the platform frequently. The efficacy of the DLE in addressing technological advancement challenges will be further evaluated through post-ante assessments and feedback from prospective employers and stakeholders, focusing on the implementation of industry recommendations and the correlation between pre- and post-implementation survey responses from industry and academic experts. © 2024 IEEE.

Heart disease is a common condition in humans and can have a negative impact on health. Various data such as age, gender, blood pressure, and other factors can be utilized to predict the likelihood of heart disease. This study employs medical records sourced from the Cleveland dataset at the UCI Machine Learning Repository, utilizing SVM and XGBoost Classifier algorithms for model training and testing. The assessment of classification performance, based on confusion matrix calculations, reveals that the XGBoost Classifier attains higher accuracy, reaching 98.36% during testing and 85.53% during training, with an execution time of 0.028s. Conversely, the Support Vector Machine achieves 93.44 % accuracy during testing and 83.88% during training, with an execution time of 0.006 seconds. A notable difference in accuracy percentage of 4.92% in favor of the XGBoost Classifier is observed. Moreover, by implementing to-fold cross-validation using GridSearch CV, both algorithms achieve optimal parameters and performance enhancement, resulting in an average accuracy score of 100%. This further underscore both algorithms' high effectiveness and efficiency in predicting heart disease. Consequently, due to the substantial accuracy difference, the XGBoost Classifier algorithm is proposed as the dominant and efficient option for heart disease prediction. © 2023 IEEE.

This study presents a dipper-throated-based ant colony optimization (DTACO) with the Seasonal Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average with eXogenous factor (SARIMAX) model (DTACO+SARIMAX) to forecast monkeypox cases. The work optimizes the SARIMAX model using grid search cross-validation and fine-tunes its hyperparameters using DTACO to improve prediction accuracy. The suggested model's consistency and accuracy are considerable compared to previous studies. Comparisons with state-of-the-art models validate the proposed model's predictions. DTACO+SARIMAX can be used to control disease and monitor monkeypox. Healthcare organizations and governments can better manage and track the pandemic's course by offering accurate predictions, reducing public panic, and enabling effective pandemic planning. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests are conducted on the proposed DTACO-SARIMAX model and compared models. © 2023 IEEE.

Liver diseases represent a significant challenge to global healthcare systems, necessitating accurate and timely diagnosis for effective intervention. However, the intricate nature of liver tumor multi-classification remains a daunting obstacle. In this work, we provide a novel framework that integrates state-of-the-art technologies, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM), and Enhanced Channel Attention (ECA), within a deep learning architecture. Leveraging the comprehensive Duke Liver dataset, our approach synthesizes GAN-generated data to augment the training dataset and employs attention mechanisms to discern crucial details within medical images. Our ensemble model, incorporating CBAM with VGG19, achieves a remarkable accuracy of 99.29% in liver tumor classification. This research heralds a significant advancement in liver disease diagnosis, offering a promising avenue to improve patient outcomes. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

This research paper examines the integration of Artificial Intelligence-driven Augmented Reality glasses within wired and wireless systems to facilitate real-time multilingual communication. Nowadays, one of the most important objectives in health-related research is the improvement of the living condition and well-being of people. Smart home systems can provide health protection for residents based on the results of daily activity recognition. Recent advances and developments in sensor technology have increased the need for sensor-compatible goods and services in smart homes. Consequently, the ever-increasing volume of data requires the field of deep learning (DL) for auto-matic human motion recognition. Recent research has modeled spatiotemporal sequences gathered by smart home sensors using long short-term memory networks. In this work, ResNeXt-based models that learn to classify human activities in smart homes were proposed to improve recognition performance. Experiments conducted on Center for Advanced Studies in Adaptive Systems (CASAS) data, a publicly available benchmark dataset, shows that the proposed ResNeXt-based techniques are significantly superior to the existing DL methods and provide better results compared to the existing literature. The ResNeXt model achieved the averaged accuracy over the benchmark method to 84.81%, 93.57%, and 90.38% for the CASAS-Cairo, CASAS-Milan and CASAS-Kyoto3 datasets, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Children's physical, mental and emotional development depends heavily on sleep, with age-specific sleep needs fluctuating. Malnutrition may result from eating too little, absorbing nutrients poorly, being unwell, living in poverty or not knowing enough about nutrition. Food allergies and iron insufficiency are two examples of illnesses whose onsets might differ depending on environmental exposures and genetics. By providing proper diet, getting medical attention when necessary and encouraging healthy behaviors, parents play a crucial role in supporting their children's health. For children to grow and develop properly, they need meals high in fruits, vegetables, milk, protein, calcium, iron and fiber. Key advantages of a balanced diet include aiding bone formation, improving heart health and encouraging regular bowel motions and digestion. In general, children's general health and wellness depend on caregivers being aware of their dietary requirements and giving them the proper attention. The findings of the research imply that machine learning algorithms may be useful in understanding and predicting the prevalence of malnutrition in children. Furthermore, these algorithms could provide perceptive data that might help politicians create effective policies. In this research, we make use of five different machine learning algorithms. With a decision tree, the accuracy is 0.92%, followed by svm which provides 0.91%, KNN, which provides 0.84%, GBM classifier, which provides 0.79% and random forest, which provides 0.65%. © 2025 IEEE.

Heart disease is one of the most common diseases in Jordan. It is a major reason of death among Jordanian adult citizens. Worldwide, an average of 56,000 people dies each day or one death every 1.5 seconds. Hence, this research is interested in the early prediction of this disease among Jordanian people. To achieve this main objective, Machine Learning (ML) is utilized through a large number of classification models and considering five well-known evaluation metrics. These classification models have been trained on a primary dataset that has been collected for the purpose of the research. The results revealed that RandomForest and RandomCommittee are the best classification models to handle the task of the early prediction of Heart disease in Jordan. © 2024 IEEE.
