Speech is a fundamental means of human interaction. Speaker Identification (SI) plays a crucial role in various applications, such as authentication systems, forensic investigation, and personal voice assistance. However, achieving robust and secure SI in both open and closed environments remains challenging. To address this issue, researchers have explored new techniques that enable computers to better understand and interact with humans. Smart systems leverage Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) to mimic the human brain in identifying speakers. However, speech signals often suffer from interference, leading to signal degradation. The performance of a Speaker Identification System (SIS) is influenced by various environmental factors, such as noise and reverberation in open and closed environments, respectively. This research paper is concerned with the investigation of SI using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) and polynomial coefficients, with an ANN serving as the classifier. To tackle the challenges posed by environmental interference, we propose a novel approach that depends on symmetric comb filters for modeling. In closed environments, we study the effect of reverberation on speech signals, as it occurs due to multiple reflections. To address this issue, we model the reverberation effect with comb filters. We explore different domains, including time, Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), and Discrete Sine Transform (DST) domains for feature extraction to determine the best combination for SI in case of reverberation environments. Simulation results reveal that DWT outperforms other transforms, leading to a recognition rate of 93.75% at a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 15 dB. Additionally, we investigate the concept of cancelable SI to ensure user privacy, while maintaining high recognition rates. Forecasting river flow is crucial for optimal planning,management,and sustainability using freshwater *** machine learning(ML)approaches have been enhanced to improve streamflow *** techniques have been viewed as a viable method for enhancing the accuracy of univariate streamflow estimation when compared to standalone *** researchers have also emphasised using hybrid models to improve forecast ***,this paper conducts an updated literature review of applications of hybrid models in estimating streamflow over the last five years,summarising data preprocessing,univariate machine learning modelling strategy,advantages and disadvantages of standalone ML techniques,hybrid models,and performance *** study focuses on two types of hybrid models:parameter optimisation-based hybrid models(OBH)and hybridisation of parameter optimisation-based and preprocessing-based hybridmodels(HOPH).Overall,this research supports the idea thatmeta-heuristic approaches precisely improveML ***’s also one of the first efforts to comprehensively examine the efficiency of various meta-heuristic approaches(classified into four primary classes)hybridised with ML *** study revealed that previous research applied swarm,evolutionary,physics,and hybrid metaheuristics with 77%,61%,12%,and 12%,***,there is still room for improving OBH and HOPH models by examining different data pre-processing techniques and metaheuristic algorithms.

High PV systems integration faces distribution networks (DN) with technical issues. However, PVs are inverter- based sources and with active power curtailment (APC) and reactive power control (RPC) can provide ancillary services for distribution system operators (DSOs) and participate as problem/solution principle. This paper proposes an optimal power flow (OPF)-based model for improving voltages and reducing losses by using PV inverter APC and RPC strategies. The proposed optimization model is presented as nonlinear programming (NLP). For solving this optimization problem without approximations, a co-simulation of OpenDSS power system analysis software and PyGMO package with embedded computational intelligence (CI) optimization methods is used. Several case studies are carried out over the IEEE European low-voltage test feeder (LVTF). Regardless of which strategy is applied, the obtained results show that the proposed model improves technical conditions in PV-rich DN and illustrate PV potential in providing ancillary services to DSO. © 2024 IEEE.

Biometrics has become a fundamental aspect in the constantly-changing field of security solutions. Nevertheless, the ongoing risk of hacking and the possibility of biometric data being compromised in security breaches emphasize the urgent need for inventive and reliable biometric authentication methods. Introducing cancelable biometrics is an advanced approach to enhance the security of biometric templates. Our research paper presents a unique variation of this approach that depends on the powerful Double Random Phase Encoding (DRPE) algorithm. By incorporating an auxiliary input biometric template and using quaternion mathematics, we get an exceptional level of performance that surpasses previous performance standards. The cancelable biometric recognition system we present demonstrates exceptional performance in simulation experiments, demonstrating its ability to remain robust even in the presence of noise. More precisely, the proposed cancelable face recognition system attains a notable area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve of 0.994 and an exceptionally-low Equal Error Rate (EER) of 0.00174. The efficiency of our solution is amazing, with an average time of 0.056263 seconds for each generated secure template. Abnormal formation of cells in a layer. The brain is known as the brain cancer complex, and a brain cancer detection system is needed to detect cancer in its early stages Phase. As a result, the primary goal of this initiative is to assist existing doctors in their training for the early identification o f brain cancer by utilizing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which is the most effective approach to identifying brain cancer. This system is done through four components, and it has made it easier to detect brain tumors. These techniques with different image processing techniques include noise removal, segmentation, classification, a nd u se o fa nalysis segments f or detection. Pre-processing techniques prepare the image for further processing by removing image noise. During segmentation, the brain tumor system determines the size of the brain tumor and estimates its size. Specialists should examine them and classify brain tumors as meningiomas, gliomas, and pituitary tumors. In analysis, this component is expected to be designed so that users or medical experts can know the future through a dashboard. We explored the methodology of using generative adversarial networks (GANs) implemented in TensorFlow to denominate brain tumor images. Analyses the outcomes of various types of established deep learning models on the brain tumor MR image datasets, such as classification methods ResNet-50, VGG 16, CNN, and Inception V3. The validation precision, AUC, recall, and validation loss for CNN are 95.3%, 99.43%, 92.1 %, and 0.360 adjustments respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Securing its networks from cyber-attacks is of utmost importance as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) becomes a lynchpin of contemporary industrial ecosystems. With the increasing complexity and sophistication of cyber threats, traditional machine learning approaches, while successful, frequently struggle with real-time identification due to computational restrictions. In this study, we present an adaptive quantum learning framework for real-time IIoT attack identification that takes advantage of quantum computing’s inherent parallelism and speed. We introduce a novel quantum technique that can quickly and accurately identify both new and existing attack vectors as they emerge in dynamic threat landscapes. The experimental results show improved accuracy rates and a drastic decrease in identification delay compared to classical methods. According to our research, quantum-enhanced learning frameworks have great potential to strengthen IIoT security in the face of more sophisticated cyber-attacks. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Continuous and Discrete Similarity Coefficient for Identifying Essential Proteins Using Gene Expression Data

Essential proteins play a vital role in biological processes,and the combination of gene expression profiles with Protein-Protein Interaction(PPI)networks can improve the identification of essential ***,gene expression data are prone to significant fluctuations due to noise interference in topological *** this work,we discretized gene expression data and used the discrete similarities of the gene expression spectrum to eliminate noise *** then proposed the Pearson Jaccard coefficient(PJC)that consisted of continuous and discrete similarities in the gene expression *** the graph theory as the basis,we fused the newly proposed similarity coefficient with the existing network topology prediction algorithm at each protein node to recognize essential *** strategy exhibited a high recognition rate and good *** validated the new similarity coefficient PJC on PPI datasets of Krogan,Gavin,and DIP of yeast species and evaluated the results by receiver operating characteristic analysis,jackknife analysis,top analysis,and accuracy *** with that of node-based network topology centrality and fusion biological information centrality methods,the new similarity coefficient PJC showed a significantly improved prediction performance for essential proteins in DC,IC,Eigenvector centrality,subgraph centrality,betweenness centrality,closeness centrality,NC,PeC,and *** also compared the PJC coefficient with other methods using the NF-PIN algorithm,which predicts proteins by constructing active PPI networks through dynamic gene *** experimental results proved that our newly proposed similarity coefficient PJC has superior advantages in predicting essential proteins.
