This paper deals with optical code division multiple access (optical-CDMA) and provides a general analysis of multi-mode fiber (MMF). The purpose of this work is to classify the works in the literature that are related to Optical-CDMA based on MMF and to find the limitation of the researches done in this field. Several challenges that occur in the medium such as multiple-access interference (MAI), pulse dispersion (PD) and nonlinearity in optical fibers deteriorate system performances and become a major performance-limiting factor. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper considers the Han-Kobayashi transmission strategy that mitigates the downlink intercell interference in a multiuser multi-input multi-output (MU-MIMO) multicell network. The base station (BS) splits the transmitted data of a user (UE) into a common message and a private message, the former of which is then decoded by a paired UE in another cell so as to reduce the respective cross-cell interference. Our aim here is to develop (i) A pairing rule that determines pairs of UEs to share common messages, and (ii) Optimal precoders at the BSs that maximize either the minimum UE throughput or the network sum-rate. To solve the combinatoric UE pairing problem, we propose a heuristic that pairs UEs with the largest corresponding cross-cell channel gains. This approach ensures that the most significant source of intercell interference is eliminated through common message decoding. We then apply the Frank-and-Wolfe procedure of concave programming to solve the highly nonconvex precoder design problems. We show that this procedure generates a sequence of improved solutions and eventually converges to at least a local optimum. Numerical results confirm the advantages of our proposed solution over the conventional strategy where intercell interference is treated as noise.

A large network delay is likely to obstruct human interaction in telecommunication systems such as telephony or video conferencing systems. In spite of the extensive investigations that have been carried out on network delays of voice and image data, there have been few studies regarding support for embodied communication under the conditions of network delay. To maintain smooth human interaction, it is important that the various ways in which delay is manifested are understood. We have already developed an embodied virtual communication system that uses an avatar called "VirtualActor," in which speakers who are remotely located from one another can share embodied interaction in the same virtual space. Responses to a questionnaire that was used in a communication experiment confirmed that a fixed 500-ms network delay has no effect on interactions via VirtualActors. In this paper, we propose a method of presenting a speaker's voice and an avatar's motion feedback in the case of a 1.5-s network delay using VirtualActors. We perform two communication experiments under different conditions of network delay. The aim of the first experiment is to examine the effect of a random time delay on the conversation. The second experiment is conducted under the conditions of a free-form conversation that takes place in 5 scenarios - 1 real-time scenario without a network delay and 4 scenarios with network delay that involve a combination of a delay in the talker's voice and in his/her avatar's motion feedback. The subjects consisted of a total of 30 students who worked in 15 pairs and who were familiar with each other. A sensory evaluation shows the effects upon communication of delays in the avatar's motion feedback, from the viewpoint of supporting the interaction. ©2010 IEEE.

Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is one of the fastest growing network techniques provides efficient communciations for smart cities, e-Health, industry 4.0 and other applications. LPWAN enables long-rang communciations for M2M and cellular IoT networks. Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT) is a type of LPWAN developed by 3GPP to connect a wide stream of IoT services and devices. NB-IoT systems rely on the mechanism of repeating the same signal every specified period of time in order to improve radio coverage better than it is in LTE systems. Repetition process is used to enhance the coverage of NB-IoT and for upgrade throughput as well. However, increasing the repetition of the signal significantly may give a negative result relative to the bandwidth limits. A cooperative relay (CoR) can be used beside repetition mechanism to helps reduce bandwidth stress. Moreover, the use of CoR for NB-IoT in physical uplink shared channel with repetitions will enhance the throughput. This paper will evaluate the performance of the CoR to enhance physical uplink shared channel in NB-IoT. The NB-IoT system model is simulated bu MATLAB to demonstrate the use of Cooperative relay (CoR) scheme in NPUSCH for NB-IoT for performance evaluation and comparison of using CoR scheme by considering metrics like data rate, throughput, and delay. The results conclude that in using CoR in NB-IoT gives high performance in overall NoT network throughput. © 2022 IEEE.

Today, the Internet of Things (IoT) technique is applied in a variety of study fields to observe, collect, and analyze data from remote locations. The quality of water has significantly declined as a result of the massive increase in global industrial output, the move from rural to urban areas, and the over exploitation of land and marine resources. Impurities can be found in the dying chamber's output water. Repeatedly, the same water is controlled in the ETP chamber and fed to the death chamber. The impact of the various physical water contaminations created during the hydrologic cycle and/or bacterial colonization relies on the unique circumstances of the water consumer. The different contaminants must be identified and calculated in order to examine the demand for treatment and the suitable technology. The most common application of qualitative differentiating is to describe the aesthetic or visual quality of water. Water that is turbid contains suspended particles that give it a murky look. These particles scatter and submerge light, giving the impression of clouds. Organic or inorganic particles may be suspended. The pH of a fluid is used to determine its relative acidic or basic level. Calculating the hydrogen ion concentration in water results in pH. For the additional treatment step, the waste water's temperature is measured. The degree of pollution present in the waste water can be identified and appropriately handled by measuring the pH, turbidity, temperature, and humidity. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloud server data security makes extensive use of data centers and instantly accessible edge systems for possible transactions involving sizable and confidential data. These Edge Systems are chosen for rental based on their usefulness in situations where new privacy and security difficulties must be overcome. The use of Edge Systems is subject to dynamic mobility, which increases the danger of attacking threats. With this suggested approach, the Defensive Auto-updatable and Adaptable Bot Recommender approach (DAABRS) is used by the Cloud Center to identify the safeguarded Edge System. Cloud Data Centers with Edge Systems contain a variety of users and environments, making it simple for attackers to enter anonymously and compromise Edge System privacy. The most effective security measure against increasing risks and assaults for Edge Systems that rent more cloud storage is to use Stealth Mode Bots inside of data segments. In addition to anticipating and averting data breaches in server partitioning, tenant systems, edge systems, and containers by integrating stealth mode bots into each. Suggested use cases: Tenants, Edge Systems, or Containers for effective security-enhanced Stealth Mode Bots that are activated when a particular data segment is unplugged. Updatable and adaptive bots are used in the suggested strategy to counter Edge strategy assaults. Additionally, it uses Stealth Mode Bots to stop heavily attacked Data Containers, and machine learning will be used to update specifications to identify and prevent further assaults. © 2024 IEEE.

Analyzing and developing the safety of DNS-based total Authentication in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a critical research vicinity that is being actively pursued. While preceding work has blanketed authentication strategies to relax the communications between a node and its base station, our studies focus on analyzing the authentication schemes used to set up a comfy verbal exchange in a wireless Sensor network among nodes. We look at the assets of Symmetric and asymmetric Authentication Protocols for WSNs and examine their effectiveness in terms of their authentication effectiveness and overhead. We also discuss how they can be incorporated with current authentication schemes used for WSNs. We then gift a singular protocol that uses DNS-based Authentication to safely set up a verbal exchange in a Wi-Fi Sensor network. Ultimately, we put in force and tested our protocol and the degree of its overall performance in simulated surroundings. Our experiments' results show that our protocol gives an effective authentication answer for WSNs. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of Drones (IoD) extends the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles, enabling them to participate in a connected network. In IoD infrastructure, drones communicate not only among themselves but also with users and a control center. This interconnected communication framework holds promise for various applications, from collaborative decision-making to real-time data exchange. However, the expansion of communication in IoD also introduces new challenges, particularly in terms of security, privacy and authentication. Unfortunately, the current authentication protocols are inadequate in offering robust security features against various attacks in the IoD environment. To address these security issues and limitations, we proposed a secure protocol for the IoD environment using chaotic maps and hash functions. In addition, we also employed a physically unclonable function in the development of the proposed protocol. We assess the security of the protocol through both informal and formal security analysis. The formal security analysis is conducted through a widely used random or real (RoR) model. The informal analysis shows the rigorous security features against various attacks, such as masquerading, anonymity violation, and physical cloning attacks. Moreover, we compare the performance of the devised protocol with similar existing protocols across important performance parameters, such as communication overhead, computation overhead, and security features. The devised protocol provides a 67.86% and 17.80% reduction in computation and communication overheads, respectively, as compared to related protocols. The analysis demonstrates the proposed protocol's capacity to support secure communication in the IoD environment and satisfy desirable security attributes. © 2014 IEEE.

Swarm intelligence is a class of nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms, that is specifically derived from biological systems in nature with an emphasis on their social interactions. These algorithms have been primarily developed to solve complex combinatorial optimization problems and are extremely popular among researchers in metaheuristic algorithms. This is evident from the numerous published scientific papers describing algorithms inspired by biological systems, ranging from insects such as ants and bees to the largest animals on the planet like whales. All these algorithms share some common concepts and relationships that can be explicitly identified, named, and formalized. These shared concepts and relationships can be organized and represented through the construction of an ontology. The goal of this paper is to present a formal ontology that standardizes vocabulary, as well as a set of rules enabling precise communication and reasoning about these algorithms. Ultimately, this will improve our understanding, analysis, research processes, and utilization of these computational approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel control strategy based on model predictive control is proposed for tracking the trajectory of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). First, the dynamic model of an unmanned aerial vehicle UAV is established by considering the linear velocities in terms of the analyzed system's attitude angles. The UAV's dynamic model is suitable for kinematic control by using two attitude angles as control inputs. The controller design is made up of an output feedback controller formed by the error variables, which are the difference between the measured output and the reference variables. Then, a model predictive control is established by considering an optimization problem with a performance index and the corresponding constraints. Furthermore, the stochastic properties of the UAV dynamic model are taken into account in this research study. The measured outputs provided by the sensors are constrained by the topological characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle to be analyzed. Finally, a numerical experiment and its conclusions are presented, demonstrating that the proposed control strategy provides optimal trajectory tracking. © 2022 IEEE.
