Metallised polypropylene film capacitors(MPPFCs)are widely used in power electronics and are generally degraded by elevated *** work aims to determine the relationships between the structural changes of MPPFC and the microstructural variations of the PP film during the thermal ageing of MPPFC at 100℃ for 38 *** capacitance of MPPFC has a slight decrease during thermal ***,the breakdown voltage of the MPPFC decreases by 39.4%by the *** partial discharge(PD)number of MPPFC increases linearly with ageing *** tear-down analysis of the MPPFC reveals that the molecular structure of the PP film has not been altered but has led to molecular chain scission and the generation of some polar fragments/***,the relative permittivity of the PP films rises as the ageing time ***,thermal ageing causes the conversion of aluminum to alumina in the metallised electrode,which is hydrophilic for polar groups and leads to an adhesion effect between the metallised electrodes and the PP *** angle measurements prove that the surface hydrophilicity of the PP sample increased after thermal ***,the PD/breakdown voltage in the MPPFC increases/decreases due to the uneven adhesion of the metallised PP film.

Hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))photoproduction in seawater with metal-free photocatalysts derived from biomass materials is a green,sustainable,and ultra environmentally friendly ***,most photocatalysts are always corroded or poisoned in seawater,resulting in a significantly reduced catalytic ***,we report the metal-free photocatalysts(RUT-1 to RUT-5)with in-situ generated carbon dots(CDs)from biomass materials(Rutin)by a simple microwave-assisted pyrolysis *** visible light(λ≥420 nm,81.6 mW/cm^(2)),the optimized catalyst of RUT-4 is stable and can achieve a high H_(2)O_(2)yield of 330.36μmol/L in seawater,1.78 times higher than that in normal *** transient potential scanning(TPS)tests are developed and operated to in-situ study the H_(2)O_(2)photoproduction of RUT-4 under operation ***-4 has strong oxygen(O_(2))absorption capacity,and the O_(2)reduction rate in seawater is higher than that in *** cations in seawater further promote the photo-charge separation and facilitate the photo-reduction *** RUT-4,the conduction band level under operating conditions only satisfies the requirement of O_(2)reduction but not for hydrogen(H2)*** work provides new insights for the in-situ study of photocatalyst under operation condition,and gives a green and sustainable path for the H_(2)O_(2)photoproduction with metal-free catalysts in seawater.

To mitigate the solid waste crisis, converting waste plastics into valuable products through thermochemical processes, such as through pyrolysis, is emerging. Polylactic acid (PLA) plastics are difficult to separate from other plastics in solid waste, and mixed waste is usually directly landfilled or incinerated. Moreover, studies focused solely on the pyrolysis of PLA plastic remain relatively scarce. The large amount of tar produced during plastic pyrolysis can reduce the high-value production of hydrogen, and high-entropy oxide (HEO) catalyst exhibit excellent performance in tar conversion and anti-carbon deposition. In this research, HEO catalyst was synthesized by the sol-gel method for the pyrolysis of waste PLA plastic volatiles, aiming to generate H2-rich syngas in a two-stage integrated reactor system. During catalytic reforming, the highest hydrogen production was 124.1 mmol∙gPLA−1, and the gas yield based on plastic mass reached 259.8 wt%. The superiority of HEO catalyst stems from the synergistic interaction of various elements, enhancing the structural stability of the high-entropy system and increasing oxygen vacancies, resulting in strong C–C and C–H bond-breaking capabilities in the Ce, Mg, Fe, Co, and Ni HEO catalyst. In addition, this study investigated the mechanism of PLA's simple pyrolysis and the role of the HEO catalyst in the catalytic steam reforming of PLA. This study developed a novel high-entropy aluminate catalyst demonstrating efficient hydrogen-rich syngas production, providing an innovative approach for generating hydrogen-rich syngas from high-molecular-weight polymer plastics through pyrolysis coupled with catalytic steam reforming. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

Movies are a great source of entertainment. However, the problem arises when one is trying to find the desired content within this vast amount of data which is significantly increasing every year. Recommender systems (RSs) can provide appropriate algorithms to solve this problem. The content-based technique has found popularity due to the lack of available user data in most cases. Content-based RSs are based on similarity of items demographic information;Term Frequency – Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) and Knowledge Graph Embedding (KGE) are two approaches used to vectorize data to calculate these similarities. In this paper, we propose a weighted content-based movie RS by combining TF-IDF which is an appropriate approach for embedding textual data such as plot/description and KGE which is used to embed named entities such as director’s name. The weights between features are determined using a Genetic algorithm. Additionally, Iranian movies dataset is created by scraping data from movie-related websites. This dataset and the structure of the FarsBase KG are used to create the MovieFarsBase KG which is a component in the implementation process of the proposed content-based RS. Using precision, recall, and F1 score metrics, this study shows that the proposed approach outperforms the conventional approach that uses TF-IDF for embedding all attributes. © 2022, CC BY.

As e-Learning emerges as a promising tool for instruction delivery, personalizing the e-Learning platform for DHH learners will benefit them to improve their learning engagement and educational attainment. This study aims to collect and analyze the different features unique to DHH learners and analyze the significant features among them. This study highlights the importance of addressing the diversity among DHH learners, while creating a personalized learning environment for them. With this focus, we employ the K-Means clustering algorithm to group the learners based on similar needs and preferences and identified that distinguishing clusters can be formed within the DHH group. We also tried to understand the significant features contributing to forming well separated groups. These results provide valuable insights into the diverse preferences and requirements when they interact with the learning materials. These findings emphasize the significance of personalized approach for DHH learners in educational settings and serve as the stepping stone to develop a personalized learning environment for them.

Few-shot learning represents a paradigm shift in deep learning, which is defined by massive amounts of data and computing capacity. It solves these issues by utilizing novel training approaches and optimization goals. This shift also applies to meta-learning and provides an alternative to standard deep learning, which requires a lot of resources. The conventional technique indirectly infers the underlying structure between classes in the context of classification problems. In contrast, this work attempts to clearly portray the links between classes, which is a substantial change from previous techniques. This study looks into embedding adaptability for novel data in a high computing power environment. This is accomplished by investigating a dynamic interaction between samples utilizing their centroids inside a support. To better capture the subtle interactions between classes, this study uses Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) in conjunction with attention processes. The ability to explicitly characterize class relationships boosts the flexibility and efficacy of few-shot learning, demonstrating how it can turn limited input and processing resources into maximum results. The research extends the potential of deep learning in situations where large-scale datasets and powerful computers are not readily available, offering up new avenues for real-world applications.

Aneurysms, balloon-like bulges in blood vessels, present a significant health risk due to their potential to rupture, leading to life-threatening internal bleeding. Current treatments often involve delivering embolic materials or metal coils to fill these bulges, occluding them from the pressure of blood flow. However, clinical micro-catheters that deploy embolic materials used today face limitations, primarily their rigidity and the lack of active control over the bending tip of the catheter. This paper introduces a new soft micro-robotics catheter, with diameter of only 0.8 mm, equipped with a hollow channel. With this new design, the new device can induce bending motions at its tip for active steerability to reach desired aneurysm targets and then perform the delivery of embolic materials and tools. To enhance the control and precise navigation during procedures, a robust mathematical model and image processing techniques are also introduced and validated. Experiments are also performed to characterise and validate the model’s accuracy and the steerability and navigation capabilities of the new micro-catheter.

This research focuses on fractional-order fixed-time integral terminal sliding mode control (FoFxITSM) for Euler-Lagrange systems in the presence of uncertainty and external disturbances. First, the concept of fractional-order fixed-time integral terminal sliding mode control (FoFxITSM) is laid out and discussed in detail. This methodology enhances the efficiency of position tracking by combining the characteristics of ITSM, which include chatter-free control inputs, rapid fixed-time convergence, and non-singularity. Additionally, this method includes a fractional-order parameter to improve performance of the proposed method. A Lyapunov analysis is used to determine the closed-loop system's ability to maintain its fixed-time stability. To test and demonstrate the performance of the suggested method, the simulation results of the proposed scheme applied on the 2-DOF robot are provided.

The growing interest in artificial intelligence (AI) as a diagnostic aid has spurred significant research into deep learning-based colorectal cancer polyp detection and localization. The motivation behind this research stems from the occasional missed diagnosis of polyps by medical experts due to fatigue or inexperience, which can lead to serious complications like colorectal cancer. In this research, we explore the effect on the accuracy of polyp detection and localization, employing variants of the state-of-the-art detection model YOLOv9. Four variants of YOLOv9 (gelan-e, gelan-c, yolov9-c, and yolov9-e) are trained on two datasets: CVC-CLinicDB and Kvasir combined as one dataset and LDPolyp Video as the second separate dataset. Results show that the YOLOv9 variants show their superiority when evaluated on five test datasets as compared to YOLOv8, the most recent YOLO series model.

In this paper, a study on the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is presented. The goal is to implement four PID controllers in FIL (FPGA In-the-Loop) execution mode using Simulink. These controllers are designed to manage rotation angles and altitude, aiming to stabilize the quadrotor. The controllers were developed within the MATLAB Simulink environment, utilizing blocks supported by HDL Coder. PID parameters were fine-tuned through the PID Tuner feature. The control strategy was subsequently implemented on a Zybo FPGA board, employing the HDL Workflow Advisor to assess the controllers' behavior in FIL mode. The obtained results underscore the effectiveness and performance of the adopted control design.
