Selected mapping (SLM) generates a set of independent signals from an information sequence and transmits the signal with minimum peak-to-average power ratio (PAR). To recover data, the receiver is sent critical side information (SI) about the generation process. In this paper, a novel blind detection algorithm is developed for coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and SLM. The blind SLM algorithm performs well in both AWGN and fading channels in the presence of amplifier non-linearities.

Interface ecology is an emerging metadisciplinary approach, in which the creation of rich interactive experiences spans n disciplines - such as computer graphics, mathematics, gaming, visual art, performance, and cultural theory. Interfaces extend beyond interactive artifacts, activities, and social spaces, forming intricate ecosystems. Interfaces are the catalytic border zones where systems of representation meet, mix, and recombine. Through this recombination, interface ecosystems generate fundamental innovations of form, experience, knowledge, and technology. This panel brings together a diverse range of practitioners who work from concept to experience not in terms of a particular discipline, métier, or medium but with a practice that interconnects multiple systems, forming a whole.

As processing and time requirements of computer systems increase over the borders of single processor architectures, it is becoming more and more attractive to use distributed computing with additional real-time capabilities. In several cases, traditional programming languages have become insufficient to build distributed systems easily, especially when real-time issues and basic software quality factors are concerned. In this paper, a concurrent, object-oriented, distributed real-time programming language, CPL, with a supportive run-time system, namely the CORD-RTS, is introduced and new language features are described. The new language provides an efficient solution for command and control systems by embedding distribution and real-time issues within new language constructs. The language preprocessor translates these language constructs into portable C++ code to establish run-time connection with the RTS, which provides real-time communication between distributed objects.
