it is difficult for scientific researchers to extract strutted knowledge from massive data and clarify the process and complex connections between it. The proposed system collects scientific and technological intelligence via data mining. Then we conduct information extraction, knowledge fusion, and knowledge processing to build Knowledge Graphs of scientific and technological intelligence. Finally, we can realize visualization of scientific and technological intelligence. The knowledge base constructed by the system can help researchers more intuitively understand the history, status, and future of discipline development. It can help researchers better understand the classification of disciplines and deepen their understanding of knowledge. Also, the system can conduct empirical research through citation analysis, bibliographic coupling analysis and other bibliometric methods. Via trend extrapolation, Tri-training and other algorithms, we can predict the trend of the frontier.

In order to obtain the formation rule of molten pool characteristics in SLM process of ceramics, an energy input model for SLM process of Al2O3 ceramics is established. The model is related to laser power P, scanning speed v, scanning spacing s and thickness h of powder layer. The influence of process parameters in the energy model on molten pool characteristics is analyzed by simulation of temperature field of multi-layer and multi-channel SLM process. The simulation results show that when the laser power P is 105W, the scanning speed v is 50mm/s, the initial temperature of powder is 330°C and the thickness of powder layer is 0.20mm, the molten pool formed is easy to form Al2O3 ceramic specimens.

Our work addresses the problem of classifying tree species from mobile LiDAR data. The work is a two step-wise strategy, including tree segmentation and tree species classification. In the tree segmentation step, a voxel-based upward growing filtering is proposed to remove terrain points from the mobile laser scanning data. Then, individual trees are segmented via a Euclidean distance clustering approach and Voxel-based Normalized Cut (VNCut) segmentation approach. In the tree species classification, a voxel-based 3D convolutional neural network (3D-CNN) model is developed based on intensity information. A road section data acquired by a RIEGL VMX-450 system are selected for evaluating the proposed tree classification method. Qualitative analysis shows that our algorithm achieves a good performance. © Authors 2019.

The Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) developments have had a crucial effect on our daily lives. The usage of wireless sensor networks is increasing daily. They can be used in various fields such as incident management, war detection and exploration, border protection and, security monitoring. Also, they are used in unattended environments as a remote. The sensors in WSNs are fully automatic. One of the efficient ways to manage WSN effectively is clustering because it can support the scalability of nodes. One of the main challenges in Wireless Sensor Network is not only its implementation but also finding the best clustering algorithm. Besides, wireless sensor networks' features should be considered in their design as the primary keys. In this paper, we present some of the most well-known available clustering algorithms and compare them based on the features and complexity of the network. These features include the rate of node convergence, the stability, the overlapping of each cluster, supporting node movement.

The precise diagnosis of urinary stones is crucial for devising effective treatment strategies. The diagnostic process, however, is often complicated by the low contrast between stones and surrounding tissues, as well as the variability in stone locations across different patients. To address this issue, we propose a novel location embedding based pairwise distance learning network (LEPD-Net) that leverages low-dose abdominal X-ray imaging combined with location information for the fine-grained diagnosis of urinary stones. LEPD-Net enhances the representation of stone-related features through context-aware region enhancement, incorporates critical location knowledge via stone location embedding, and achieves recognition of fine-grained objects with our innovative fine-grained pairwise distance learning. Additionally, we have established an in-house dataset on urinary tract stones to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach. Comprehensive experiments conducted on this dataset reveal that our framework significantly surpasses existing state-of-the-art methods. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Within a framework for verifying parametric network protocols through induction, one needs to find invariants based on a protocol instance of a small number of nodes. In this paper, we propose a new approach to accelerate parameterized verification by adopting decision trees to represent the state space of a protocol instance. Such trees can be considered as a knowledge base that summarizes all behaviors of the protocol instance. With this knowledge base, we are able to efficiently construct an oracle to effectively assess candidates of invariants of the protocol, which are suggested by an invariant finder. With the discovered invariants, a formal proof for the correctness of the protocol can be derived in the framework after proper generalization. The effectiveness of our method is demonstrated by experiments with typical benchmarks.

Pseudo-haptics refers to the simulation of haptic sensations without the use of haptic interfaces, using, for example, audiovisual feedback and kinesthetic cues. Given the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift to online learning, there has been a recent interest in pseudo-haptics as it can help facilitate psychomotor skills development away from simulation centers and laboratories. Here we present work-in-progress that describes the study design of a pseudo-haptics for virtual anesthesia skills development. We anticipate this work will provide greater insight to pseudo-haptics and its application to anesthesia-based training.

The delegating private quantum computation (DQC) protocol with the universal quantum gate set {X, Z, H, P, R, CNOT} was firstly proposed by Broadbent et al., and then Tan et al. tried to put forward an half-blind DQC protocol (HDQC) with another universal set {H, P, CNOT, T}. However, the decryption circuit of Toffoli gate (i.e., T) is a little redundant, and Tan et al.'s protocol exists the information leak. In addition, both of these two protocols just focus on the blindness of data (i.e., the client's input and output), but do not consider the blindness of computation (i.e., the delegated quantum operation). For solving these problems, we propose a full-blind DQC protocol (FDQC) with quantum gate set {H, P, CNOT, T}, where the desirable delegated quantum operation, one of {H, P, CNOT, T}, is replaced by a fixed sequence (H, P, CZ, CNOT, T ) to make the computation blind, and the decryption circuit of Toffoli gate is also optimized. Analysis shows that our protocol can not only correctly perform any delegated quantum computation, but also holds the characteristics of data blindness and computation blindness. People’s worries about robot and AI software and how it can go wrong have led them to think of it and its associated algorithms and programs as being like Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein monster. The term Franken-algorithms has been used. Furthermore, there are concerns about driverless cars, automated General Practitioner Doctors (GPs) and robotic surgeons, legal expert systems, and particularly autonomous military drones. Digital Empathy grows when people and computers place themselves in each other’s shoes. Some would argue that for too long people have discriminated against computers and robots by saying that they are only as good as what we put into them. However, in recent times computers have outperformed people, beating world champions at the Asian game of Go (2017), Jeopardy (2011) and chess (1997), mastering precision in medical surgical operations (STAR) and diagnosis (Watson), and in specific speech and image recognition tasks. computers have also composed music (AIVA), generated art (Aaron), stories (Quill) and poetry (Google AI). In terms of calling for more Digital Empathy between machines and people, we refer here to theories, computational models, algorithms and systems for detecting, representing and responding to people’s emotions and sentiment in speech and images but also for people’s goals, plans, beliefs and intentions. In reciprocation, people should have more empathy with machines allowing for their mistakes and also accepting that they will be better than people at performing particular tasks involving large data sets where fast decisions may need to be made, keeping in mind that they are not as prone as people to becoming tired. We conclude that if digital souls are programmed with Digital Empathy, and people have more empathy with them, by doing unto them as we would have them do unto us, this will help to secure Shelley’s monster. © 2019 CEUR-WS.
