The Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is a networking paradigm related to the intercommunication of vehicles using a *** a dynamic network,one of the key challenges in IoV is traffic management under increasing vehicles to avoid ***,optimal path selection to route traffic between the origin and destination is *** research proposed a realistic strategy to reduce traffic management service response time by enabling real-time content distribution in IoV systems using heterogeneous network ***,this work proposed a novel use of the Ant Colony Optimization(ACO)algorithm and formulated the path planning optimization problem as an Integer Linear Program(ILP).This integrates the future estimation metric to predict the future arrivals of the vehicles,searching the optimal *** the mobile nature of IOV,fuzzy logic is used for congestion level estimation along with the ACO to determine the optimal *** model results indicate that the suggested scheme outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods by identifying the shortest and most cost-effective ***,this work strongly supports its use in applications having stringent Quality of Service(QoS)requirements for the vehicles.

This paper overviews the Smart Home User Interfaces (UI) in the following aspects: general definition of Human-Machine Interface (HMI), types of common Smart Home UI, market analysis of HMI, voice assistants and chatbots. This study was conducted to determine existed Smart Home UI and evaluate them in the future works. This comparing and evaluation needed to choose appropriate and convenient Smart Home UI for certain application. The overview leaded to the following findings: Smart Home market is growing;certain global trends influenced on this market and on HMI in general;certain groups of people are more interested in Smart Home technologies;each type of Smart Home User Interface has its leaders. This study can help researchers learn about the main types of Smart Home User Interfaces and trends in this market. © 2023 IEEE.

The active development of the Internet of Things (IoT) in recent years has increased people's need for control smart devices for home. At the same time, the complexity of these devices is growing. Therefore, Smart Home systems require a simple and convenient interface for control. However, methods for evaluating and comparing interfaces are not clear. In this paper, we described a method to comparing and evaluating different types of Smart Home interfaces. In addition, we evaluate results experimentally. For this comparison, we used a popular Smart Home control software on the market. The results showed that Smart Home graphical user interfaces are more convenient than a messenger or voice. Voice interface is suitable for controlling a Smart Home but is not informative enough in feedback. On the other hand, the familiar interface of the messenger turned out to be the least convenient. This study will help both researchers and practitioners evaluate and choose the right Smart Home interface. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper explores strategies to improve the energy efficiency and operational longevity of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) through the optimization of clustering techniques and energy efficient routing protocols. The proposed methodology is precisely crafted to optimize energy consumption (EC) while preserving the overall effectiveness of WSNs. LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Cluster Hierarchy) is a cluster-based protocol where non-cluster head nodes deactivate their RF until their allocated time slots. Nevertheless, a drawback of traditional LEACH is its random rotation of local Cluster Heads (CH), leading to unequal cluster distribution. To overcome this issue, we proposed a novel hybrid technique called LEACH-D protocol and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The LEACH-D algorithm enhances the duration of transmission tasks while ensuring uniform battery energy consumption. On the other hand, the ANN plays a pivotal role in coordinating optimal routing decisions and CH placement, refining data aggregation and transmission mechanisms to restrain idle listening. The findings indicate that the suggested approach manifests as substantial reductions in energy consumption and prolonged network lifespan of WSN. © 2024 IEEE.

The present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using modern neural network models (ChatGPT 4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GigaChat 3.0, YandexGPT 3) for generating mathematical problems for elementary school students. The research conducts a comparative analysis of the quality of generated problems, assesses the possibility of their direct use without expert review, and develops recommendations for automating the quality control process. The methodology includes the generation of various types of mathematical problems, their expert evaluation according to developed criteria, and statistical analysis of the results. The study identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each model, determines the types of problems in which the models demonstrate the best results, and suggests directions for further improvement of AI systems in the educational context.

The problem of signal processing is extracting the desired target speaker while suppressing the annoying background noise in complex recording situation, where exists third-party talker, transport vehicle or interference, noise. Speech quality or speech intelligibility are the major characteristics, which confirm the effectiveness of processed method. In speech applications, such as hearing-aids, hands-free telephony, teleconferencing, acoustic instruments, microphone array (MA) is applied for increasing the speech quality. MA uses the spatial response, the priori information about direction - of - arrival (DOA) of interest signal, the properties of recording environment to obtain speech components and remove noise. Generalized Sidelobe Canceller (GSC) is one of the most widely exploited in microphone array beamforming, due to its convenience and effective noise reduction. However, in several situations, the performance of GSC beamformer is often degraded, because of the imprecise DOA. In this paper, the authors suggested an additive spectral mask for improving the evaluation of GSC beamformer. The resulting experiment proves the received advantage of the author’s proposed algorithm to increase in the term of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Aortic valve calcium scoring is extensively utilized for diagnosing, treating, monitoring, and assessing the risk of aortic stenosis and coronary artery disease. The gold standard method for determining aortic valve calcium score is computed tomography (CT). However, CT is expensive and exposes patients to radiation. Alternatively, echocardiography, which is a cheaper and radiation-free method, may not provide an objective result due to inter- and intra-observer variability among cardiologists. Therefore, automated measurement of aortic valve calcium score is essential. In this paper, a fully convolutional neural network approach is proposed for the segmentation of aortic valve calcified regions from echocardiography images, as the first step in predicting aortic valve calcium score. This aims to achieve a more objective, faster, easier, less costly, and radiation-free automatic calculation of aortic valve calcium score. The proposed method achieves a precision of 86.3%, recall of 80.27%, a dice coefficient of 76.27%, and a Jaccard index of 61.9% on the new dataset including 118 echocardiography images across 82 individual patients. These results show the feasibility and potential efficacy of fully automating aortic valve calcium scoring from echocardiography images. © 2024 IEEE.

This research presents a novel nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm called Frilled Lizard Optimization(FLO),which emulates the unique hunting behavior of frilled lizards in their natural *** draws its inspiration from the sit-and-wait hunting strategy of these *** algorithm’s core principles are meticulously detailed and mathematically structured into two distinct phases:(i)an exploration phase,which mimics the lizard’s sudden attack on its prey,and(ii)an exploitation phase,which simulates the lizard’s retreat to the treetops after *** assess FLO’s efficacy in addressing optimization problems,its performance is rigorously tested on fifty-two standard benchmark *** functions include unimodal,high-dimensional multimodal,and fixed-dimensional multimodal functions,as well as the challenging CEC 2017 test ***’s performance is benchmarked against twelve established metaheuristic algorithms,providing a comprehensive comparative *** simulation results demonstrate that FLO excels in both exploration and exploitation,effectively balancing these two critical aspects throughout the search *** balanced approach enables FLO to outperform several competing algorithms in numerous test ***,FLO is applied to twenty-two constrained optimization problems from the CEC 2011 test suite and four complex engineering design problems,further validating its robustness and versatility in solving real-world optimization ***,the study highlights FLO’s superior performance and its potential as a powerful tool for tackling a wide range of optimization problems.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on human society. It has highlighted the need for faster diagnostic methods. Research has shown that combining semantic segmentation with traditional medical approaches can significantly accelerate the process. To address this, leveraging COVID-19 CT images, our team designs a revolutionary semantic segmentation model called Level of Detail Enhancement U-Net (LDE-UNet), which shows the lesion area on CT images. By introducing the LDE block, the model has the unique advantage of overcoming the loss of data details during the downsampling process by emphasizing and transmitting details at the same level. Our SOTA model outperforms the second-best model by at least 0.7% in the most critical indicator precision. Compared with other models, LDE-UNet's strong reliability determines its ability to be used in the medical field to accelerate the localization and division of lesion areas on CT images by professional doctors, thus completing patient diagnosis faster. In addition, we also propose a standardized method for processing medical images. © 2023 IEEE.

The emergence of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) can transform and improve industrial domain processes. This is achieved by IIoT’s ability to collect and process vast amounts of data using technology such as sensors. IIoT capabilities can improve the manufacturing processes of these sectors and contribute to the improved functioning of critical information infrastructure. In addition, current trends - such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) - use IIoT to realise specific goals. While the emergence of IIoT systems does introduce many benefits, such as improved efficiency and sustainability, it can also introduce security concerns. These security concerns pose a significant threat to the industrial domain, including critical information infrastructures. The resulting threats emphasise the need to implement solutions to secure IIoT systems. The paper aims to discuss the emergence of IIoT and its cyber security issues within the context of critical information infrastructure. The research paper follows a theoretical research methodology to provide an improved understanding of the emergence of IIoT and its cyber security issues in critical information infrastructure. The paper contains an exhaustive discussion of what is IIoT. A discussion on where IIoT fits within the context of critical information infrastructure and its impact on 4IR is also highlighted in the paper. Due to the many vulnerabilities that IIoT systems can contain, the paper also discusses security concerns surrounding the emergence of IIoT. The security concerns make IIoT systems attractive targets for cyberattacks. Therefore, different approaches that can be applied to secure IIoT systems is also provided.
