Hybrid meta-heuristics algorithms have gained popularity in recent years to solve t-way test suite generation problems due to better exploration and exploitation capabilities of the hybridization. This paper presents the implementation of meta-heuristic search algorithms that are Migrating Birds Optimization (MBO) algorithm and Genetic Algorithm (GA) hybrid to a t-way test data generation strategy. The proposed strategy is called Elitist Hybrid MBO-GA Strategy (EMBO-GA). Based on the published benchmarking results, the result of these strategies are competitive with most existing strategies in terms of the generated test size in many of the parameter configurations. In the case where this strategy is not the most optimal, the resulting test size is sufficiently competitive.

The technology of premixed turbulent combustion is extensively used for energy conversion in piston engines, gas turbines, and aircraft after-burners. Current environmental regulation seeks newer methods to function on stringent lower emissions and to achieve improved combustion efficiency. This technology is seen as a solution, operating at low temperature combustion for fuel economy and reduced emission (HCs and NOx). However, it is still seen as an evolving study, for example, on flame extinctions, ultra-lean fuel/air mixtures and influence of high inlet temperatures and high operating pressures. Kobayashi's group [1] was among one of the first to carry out high-pressure experiments on Bunsen burner flames. They found that normalized turbulent flame speed is a strong function of equivalence ratio and high operating pressures. A detailed validation of this data has led to development of algebraic flame surface wrinkling by the present first author ([2]) and was subsequently validated for other configurations and varied conditions ([3]). In the current study, we analytically investigate a newer set of experimental methane flames, blended with hydrogen for a combination of inlet temperatures 473K and 673K for operating pressures 3 and 7 bar that have practical significance in gas turbines [4] [5]. We compare the analytical values with the experiments, for these high inlet temperatures and operating pressures.

The underlying cause of the cessation in high voltage machineries can be rooted from the failure in the insulation system due to cavity's discharges originating from the presence of cavities. This paper caters to the study of the electric field distribution inside stator bar insulation system with different arrangement of cavities, in either single or multiple cavities of different alignment to aid the investigation of electric field stresses inside the cavities and the tendency of electrical breakdown in the stator bar insulation system. Simulation using Finite Element Method (FEM) with the assistance of COMSOL software is being carried out for this 2-Dimensional stator bar insulation modelling. A 10kV stator bar insulation system is modelled in 2 dimensions to analyse the electric field distribution under different arrangements of cavities. The simulation results show that the randomly distributed cavities aligned in vertical direction constitutes a greatest upsurge of electric field stress by 85% while horizontally aligned cavities that are 0.7mm apart instigates only 46.2% increase in electric field stress within the cavity. This affirms that the arrangement of cavities poses an influence over the electric field distribution inside stator bar insulation system.
