Modern large-scale information systems often use multiple database management systems, not all of which are necessarily relational. In recent years, NoSQL databases have gained acceptance in certain domains while relational databases remain de facto standard in many others. Many "legacy"information systems also use relational databases. Unlike relational database systems, NoSQL databases do not have a common data model or query language, making it difficult for users to access data in a uniform manner when using a combination of relational and NoSQL databases or simply several different NoSQL database systems. Therefore, the need for uniform data access from such a variety of data sources becomes one of the central problems for data integration. In this paper we provide an overview of the main problems, methods, and solutions for data integration between relational and NoSQL databases, as well as between different NoSQL databases. We focus mainly on the problems of structural, syntactic, and semantic heterogeneity and on proposed solutions for uniform data access, emphasizing some of the more recent proposals. © 2022 Croatian Society MIPRO.

One of the most important aspects of environmental sustainability is water quality monitoring. The ecology is impacted by poor water quality in addition to aquatic life. With the volume of data being collected from satellite systems, the issue of effectively and automatically extracting water bodies is growing more pressing. One of the most important things to do for managing and safeguarding water resources is to conduct extensive monitoring of water quality parameters, or WQPs. It is still difficult to monitor optically inactive WQPs in inland waters, such as total nitrogen (TN), ammoniacal nitrogen (AN), and total phosphorus (TP). Water quality (WQ) classification and prediction can be greatly enhanced with the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This research proposes novel method in healthcare detection by water quality analysis based on classification utilising ML model. Input is collected as healthcare dataset based on water quality as well as processed for noise removal and normalisation. The processed data features are extracted and classified utilising reinforcement Gaussian stacked layer network with variational fuzzy Markov basis neural network. In order to suggest best course of action for the water bodies, it is imperative that any study look into the spatiotemporal changes of the dominant water quality parameters (WQPs). WQP concentrations have typically been determined by extensive fieldwork. These findings could help identify and regulate non-point source pollution, offer a large-scale spatial picture of the water quality, and pinpoint vulnerable locations and times of water pollution. Experimental analysis is carried out for various water sample dataset in terms of detection accuracy, mean precision, recall, F-1 score and AUC. The proposed technique obtained 97% of detection accuracy, 95% of recall, 91% of F-1 score, 96% of AUC, and 94% of MAP. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Sri Lanka is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. However, tourists face various inconveniences due to the obsolescence of facilities. There are various tools designed to solve such problems. But they are scattered in different places and users have to use different tools. The biggest issue in the tourist sector is that travelers are unable to get the most out of their tours since there may be days when a large number of people visit the same location, causing the location to become overcrowded, and preventing tourists from enjoying their visit as anticipated. There are seasons when natural disasters occur, as well as human-centered crises. Also, there are situations when travelers feel helpless because they are unable to find the best tour guide for them. We developed a cost-effective, automatic, and efficient Machine Learning-based recommendation system as a result of this research. Based on past data on tourists and data received from the SLTDA, this research can provide the best trip plan with the tour guide and provide destination news alerts on regular basis. Furthermore, in order to achieve the best accuracy through the system, unique machine learning approaches were used in this study. © 2022 IEEE.

Education is developing with the economy. This led to the creation of e-Iearning tools for instructors and students. In e-learning, electronic resources are used to teach. E-learning can be taught in or out of school, but computers and the Internet are essential. That is, e-learning involves delivering education to a big group of people at once or over time. So, overall, in this research is about E-learning that make a successful environment. We chose this term since it is widely used in E-learning research to improve student academic achievement. Due to the difficulties of accessing adequate study materials during the Covid-19 epidemic, distance learning has grown more popular among students. This study proposes a unique learning technique that involves choosing and organizing important learning items using a recommender system. We also studied our method's efficacy. Using a recommended system to help online learning activities was proven to be effective. Software development methodology is a collection of principles and processes used to build software. Systematic software development is the goal. The research approach utilized for this topic is Lean Development Methodology. We also examine the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning. This research also introduces various new strategies and methodologies that may be employed in the future to improve system-learning. It also presents system that we choose and why we choose it. So, it aims to eliminate waste and increase production. Following the principles can help developers avoid nonproductive chores while still producing high-quality results. The ultimate objective is to develop an efficient and error-free system. Finally, E-learning is a social revolution. It's part of a bigger rethinking of how we teach future employees and students. The eLearning platform enabled the learning data visualization dashboard beautifully. User-centered design lets the dashboard adapt to its users' demands. © 2023 IEEE.

Multichannel Steganography: A Provably Secure Hybrid Steganographic Model for Secure Communication

This study introduces a novel steganographic model that synthesizes Steganography by Cover Modification (CMO) and Steganography by Cover Synthesis (CSY), enhancing both security and undetectability by generating cover messages or parameters while retaining the original cover’s form, thus minimizing detection risks and overcoming the limitations of single-method techniques. Building upon this model, a refined Steganographic Communication Protocol is proposed, enhancing resilience against sophisticated threats such as Multichannel Replay Attacks and Multichannel Man-in-the-Middle Attacks, fortifying the protocol against potential tampering and improving upon prior works. To evaluate the security of the proposed protocol, a novel adversarial model is developed simulating a probabilistic polynomial time (PPT) adversary capable of intercepting communications across multiple channels. This model assesses the adversary’s ability to compromise the protocol, providing a comprehensive security analysis. Finally, this study explores the practicality and adaptability of the model to both constrained environments like SMS banking and resource-rich settings such as blockchain transactions, demonstrating their potential to enhance financial services and security. These contributions present a robust and adaptable framework for secure steganographic communication, offering practical solutions for secure communications across diverse environments. Advanced memory forensics for malware classification with deep learning algorithms

The growing complexity of malware, especially polymorphic and obfuscated variants, has exposed significant limitations in traditional detection methods. This study addresses these challenges using memory forensics to detect and classify malware through deep learning algorithms. Memory-based features, including memory pages, threads, open files, user sessions, system calls, and kernel modules, were extracted from memory dumps using the Volatility and Rekall frameworks. Three deep learning models—Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and Autoencoders—were applied to analyze the extracted features. The dataset was divided into ten subsets using 10-fold cross-validation to ensure robustness and prevent overfitting. The models’ performance was evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results show that CNNs and RNNs consistently outperformed Autoencoders, with CNNs achieving the highest accuracy of 97.8%. These findings demonstrate the superior effectiveness of CNNs and RNNs in detecting malware using memory-based data. This research establishes deep learning algorithms, particularly CNNs and RNNs, as powerful tools for malware detection in cybersecurity. In conclusion, this study contributes to ongoing efforts to enhance malware detection systems by leveraging memory forensics and deep learning. Future work will explore additional feature extraction techniques and hybrid model architectures to improve detection accuracy further and reduce false positives.

The cloud services which are now the most common data transmission and endanger organizations' confidential information, it's more and more visible that security of any data should be a main priority for companies. MFA, which consists of adopting multi factor approach to authentication and thereby provides multiple types of verification thus ensures effective security, is leveraged to ensure resource access. This paper proposes a full-fledged way of implementing MFA for cloud services in order to strengthen the security given and manage the constatoing risks. The proposed methodology consists of main stages like requirements determining, technology reviewing, risks assessment, technology design, integration with cloud services, users training, pilot deployment and testing, implementation and configuration, monitoring and maintenance as well as constant improvement. Through a systemic approach, the organizations can be equipped with the capability to personalize the MFA solutions according to their security goals, to bring the cloud environments on board, as well as to ensure that the organizations comply with the security standards as set by various governing bodies. This research adds a grain of salt to the development of cloud security good practices through offering a disciplined approach to MFA implementation, which allows partners to harden their cloud assets and protect against growing cyber threats. © 2024 IEEE.

Mobile Edge Caching (MEC) can potentially alleviate Internet transmission congestion by delivering content at the network edge. However, current MEC solutions suffer from low resource utilization efficiency and often fail to meet user Quality of Experience (QoE), primarily due to dynamic user requests and obsessive pursuit of direct caching hits. Given the prevalence of recommendation systems, users often lack precise requests when using recommendation-based applications like TikTok and Taobao, insted passively enjoying recommended content. In this paper, we introduce a recommendation-enabled MEC architecture to enhance resource utilization and QoE. We develop a recommendation-enabled soft caching model and formulate the optimization problem as maximizing joint system revenue. To address this, we propose an attention-assisted federated learning deep Q-network algorithm. We conduct the simulations by using the real-world MIND dataset. The results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm outperforms existing baselines, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving resource utilization and QoE. © 2024 IEEE.

Morpho-contour exponential estimation algorithm for predicting breast tumor growth from MRI imagery

Breast tumor grows rapidly have an elevated risk of progressing to a metastatic state, leading to the spread of tumor tissues to other regions of the body. Early detection of such metastatic sites can be facilitated by predicting these tumors' growth rate. In this context, we introduce a novel Morpho-Contour Exponential Estimation (MoCEE) method to estimate the potential growth rate of identified breast tumors using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) datasets. This methodology not only effectively captures morphological traces but also pinpoints regions indicative of infectious spread. This precision is achieved by enhancing the Mask R-CNN with an active contour function, ensuring the accurate segmentation of the breast tumor. Once segmented, the tumor's growth rate is computed using the exponential growth model, which accurately determines the rate by analyzing the distance between two distinct random points on the tumor's segmented region. Subsequently, this derived information, processed through a gradient boosting approach, predicts the likelihood of tumor growth across two different breast tumor categories. In our study, we assessed the proposed MoCEE method from two crucial angles. Firstly, we rigorously evaluated its ability to accurately segment both benign and malignant breast tumors. Our analysis involved comparing MoCEE's performance to that of various deep learning networks, yielding impressive segmentation accuracy percentages, such as 93.12% and 92.22% for benign and malignant tumors in BUSnet, and even higher values for other networks. Secondly, we explored MoCEE's capability to estimate tumor size, considering different probability growth rates (k^=0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5). Notably, proposed MoCEE proved highly accurate in predicting tumor growth rates across this range of probabilities. These findings highlight MoCEE's versatility and robustness, making it a valuable tool for precise breast tumor analysis and prediction. © The Author(s), under exclusiv
