Janya Ragas are Carnatic music ragas derived from the fundamental ragas called Melakarta Raga, by the permutation and combination of various ascending and descending swaras. Raga recognition is an important task, essential to research in Music information Retrieval in Indian Classical Music. Even though the automatic raga recognition methods have been widely adopted in Carnatic music, most of the existing methods are restricted only to Melakarta Ragas. It is an important task to identify the Melakarta Raga of a Janya Raga, especially for improved music recommendation performance. In this study, we used deep learning-based approach to address this problem. Music files were collected for 65 Janya Ragas belonging to seven Melakarta Ragas. Classification-based supervised deep learning models: 1D CNN, LSTM and 1D CNN-LSTM were used in the study. The models were implemented to learn similarities from 1–20 mean values of Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) features of audio samples, by using TensorFlow and Keras APIs. The results revealed that the 1D CNN-LSTM model outperformed the other models with an accuracy of 82.0%. In the future, 1D CNN-LSTM based Siamese neural networks can be introduced to reduce the dependence on large amounts of labeled audio data.

Treatment plant optimization plays an important role in the implementation of eco-problem solutions. This article is going to cover how machine learning algorithms can determine energy consumption, climate, and wastewater features of electricity at a wastewater treatment plant in eastern Melbourne from 2014 to 2019. This study uses data obtained from the Melbourne Water and Airport weather station, which are freely available to carry out MLPRegressor, SVM, Linear Regression, Decision Tree Regression, random forest regression, and Nearest Neighbor. Through customary measures like MSE, RMSE, EVS, and others, the best model is adequately identified, which is the Random Forest Regressor model, which has 0.889285. (Lowest MSE) With these results, the plant treatment optimization processes, such as sampling for environmental analysis and the control of energy consumption, have improved.

In recent years, support vector machine has become one of the most important classification techniques in pattern recognition, machine learning, and data mining due to its superior classification effect and solid theoretical base. However, its training time will increase dramatically as the number of samples increases, and training will become more sophisticated when dealing with problems involving multiple classifications. A quick training data reduction approach MOIS appropriate for multi-classification tasks is presented as a solution for the aforementioned issues. While eliminating redundant training samples, the boundary samples that play a vital role are chosen in order to considerably reduce training data and the problem of unequal distribution between categories. The experimental results demonstrate that MOIS may maintain or even improve the classification performance of support vector machines while substantially enhancing training efficiency. On the Opt digit dataset, the suggested method improves classification accuracy from 98.94% to 99.05%, while training time is reduced to 15% of the original;in HCL2000, the proposed method improves classification accuracy from 98.94% to 99.05%. When the accuracy rate is marginally increased (from 99.29% to 99.30%) on the first 100 categories dataset, the training time is dramatically reduced to less than 6% of the original. Mobile devices are an inseparable part of our lives. They have made it possible to access all the information and services anywhere at any time. Almost all of the organizations try to provide a mobile device-based solution to its users. However, this convenience has arisen the risk of losing personal information and has increased the threat to security. It has been observed recently that some of the mobile device manufacturers and mobile apps developers have lost the private information of their users to hackers. It has risen a great concern among mobile device users about their personal information. Android and iOS are the major operating systems for mobile devices and share over 99% of the mobile device market. This research aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the security of the components in the Android and iOS operating systems. It analyses the security from several perspectives such as memory randomization, application sandboxing, isolation, encryption, built-in antivirus, and data storage. From the analysis, it is evident that iOS is more secure than Android operating system. However, this security comes with a cost of losing the freedom. © 2022 IEEE.

The μ / inverse gamma and μ / inverse gamma distributions constitute two of the most distinct composite fading models. The present work offers novel results on the achievable ergodic capacity over these composite multipath/shadowing conditions. The derived expressions are corroborated with respective simulation results and are shown to be useful in practical wireless scenarios in the context of device to device communications, such as off-body, and vehicle-to-vehicle communications. © 2023 IEEE.

Plants play a vital role in the environment. Identifying them and classifying them is an important task for botanists. This study briefly points out- how to recognize plant species using image processing techniques that can help botanists and scientists, the appropriate features for plant species recognition in feature extraction, how can a classification help to increase the accuracy of the plant leaf classification. There are four major phases used in here for the recognition, and they are image input, image pre-processing, feature extraction, and SVM classification. This automatic recognition system is developed using python with Jupyter Notebook environment gives higher accuracy for the plant recognition for the botanists and comparing the feature extractions such as Contour-based and Region-based to get down more accurate results than previous researches is the main purpose of the proposed study. Contour-based and Region-based features were calculated through equations. SVM classification is used for both feature extraction methods. For individual feature extraction the Contour-based feature extraction is more efficient with 72.25% accuracy than Region-based feature extraction with 70.41% accuracy, and for combining both feature extraction SVM classification gives 68.58% accuracy. Contour-based feature is the most appropriate feature for a plant species recognition. © 2020 IEEE.

One of the contemporary developments in educational technology is artificial intelligence (AI) in the education. The use of AI will lead to a significant change in governance across the board for UAE institutes of learning. The potential use of AI in education includes an examination of the educational consequences, including how teachers would be enriched, how students would learn, and how fast and accurate judgements could be made in education institutions. Given this situation, AI assistance is absolutely necessary. Despite the fact that it has been around for close to 30 years, educators are still confused of how to use it pedagogically on a broader scale and how it may actually have a big impact on teaching and learning in higher education. Through an empirical review, this research aims to present an empirical analysis of the application of artificial intelligence in educational system with mediating effect of smart learning. This research carried out empirical evidence from 28 educational institutions based in UAE. The managerial and professors were approached in order to answer the online questionnaire. 195 valid responses were considered for data analysis using SmartPLS. Model assessment done on the basis of various tests, for instance, reliability, discriminant validity, PLS-SEM. The findings suggest a significant relationship between artificial intelligence and educational system, and mediating role of smart learning is predicted to be significant. Hence, the intention to use artificial intelligence with smart learning can enhance the academic learning outcomes. © 2023 IEEE.

The neurological condition epilepsy is demanding and even fatal. Electroencephalogram (EEG)-based epilepsy detection still faces various difficulties. EEG readings fluctuate, and different patients have various seizure activity patterns. EEG signal detection is time-consuming and labour-intensive, which puts a strain on medical staff and raises the possibility of erroneous detections. Usually, electrodes are inserted into the scalp or inside the brain for a brief period of time in order to obtain EEG data. It is essential to research efficient cross-patient automatic epilepsy detection techniques. The multi-head self-attention mechanism recognises long-distance dependencies with the same proficiency as it does temporal dynamic correlations between short-term temporal pattern characteristics and sequential relationships. The contextual representations are inputted into a bidirectional long short-term memory network (BiLSTM) so that information can be extracted in both directions. Classification and training are carried out utilising the log SoftMax algorithm. The experiments utilised scalp EEG data from the CHB-MIT database. Sensitivity, specificity, F1-score, and accuracy were computed to be 96.5 percent, 97.04 percent, 96.6 percent, and 96.2 percent, respectively. The results of the experiment show how well the technique works for detecting seizures in several patients utilising multi-channel EEG recordings. The results also demonstrate the method's improved generalisation capabilities and resilience and consistency in collecting seizure patterns. This is particularly critical for the tertiary diagnosis of epilepsy, and the findings indicate that the proposed method significantly improves the accuracy of detection. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
