The Internet of things (IoT) drives an exponential surge in computing and communication devices. Consequently, it triggers capacity, coverage, interference, latency, and security issues in the existing communication networks. The forthcoming sixth-generation (6G) networks will address these issues by providing comprehensive solutions. In particular, quantum communication technology can potentially address the challenges of 6G networks. However, its implementation requires substantial infrastructure upgrades. Therefore, the quantum-inspired (QI) techniques offer an intermediate resort due to their ability to utilize the classical communication infrastructure for design and implementation. Hence, we review QI techniques in this survey that address radio resource optimization challenges across various communication aspects, including channel assignment, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, spectrum sensing, unmanned aerial vehicle-assisted networks, and related areas. The analysis explores diverse aspects, including objectives, constraints, problem characterization, proposed solutions, and lessons learnt. Research indicates that QI techniques offer advantages such as faster convergence and reduced complexity, providing promising solutions to complex optimization problems in communication networks. Furthermore, we identify the future directions, research gaps, and ongoing challenges from the QI radio resource optimization dataset. © 1998-2012 IEEE.

Purpose Based on an experimental study on English for Specific Purposes (ESP) students, at the Business Department at the University of Bisha, the purpose of the study is to examine the effect of chatbot use on learning ESP in online classrooms during COVID-19 and find out how Dialogflow chabot can be a useful and interactive online platform to help ESP learners in learning vocabulary well. Design/methodology/approach The research paper is based on an experimental study of two groups, an experiential group and a controlled group. Two tests were carried out. Pre-tests and post-test of vocabulary knowledge were conducted for both groups to explore the usefulness of using the Dialogflow chatbot in learning ESP vocabulary. A designed chatbot content was prepared and included all the vocabulary details related to words' synonyms and a brief explanation of words’ meanings. An informal interview is another tool used in the study. The purpose of using the interview with the participants was to elicit more data from the participants about using the chatbot and about how and in what aspects chatbot using the conversational program was useful and productive. Findings The findings of the study explored that the use of chatbots plays a major role in enhancing and learning ESP vocabulary. That was clear as the results showed that the students who used the chatbot Dialogflow in the experimental group outperformed their counterparts in the control group. Research limitations/implications The study displays an important pedagogical implication as the use of chatbots could be applied in several settings to improve language learning in general or learning ESP courses in particular. Chatbot creates an interesting environment to foster build good interactions where negotiation of meaning takes place clearly seems to be of great benefit to help learners advance in their L2 lexical development. Modern printed circuit Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) antennas played an urgent role to achieve high channel capacity. This research is proposed to develop modern MIMO antenna systems based on highly electromagnetic isolation techniques. Such techniques are invoked to avoid the negative effects of surface waves that limit the antenna bandwidth and increase the mutual coupling. In this work, we proposed an antenna MIMO to cover the frequency ranges from 2GHz to 3GHz, 3.4GHz to 3.9GHz, and 4.4GHz to 5.2GHz; which most of them are applicable to n77, n78, and n79 5G based NR networks. The maximum achieved gain is found to be about 6.2dBi at 3.8GHz with maximum coupling not to exceed -20dB. The envelope correlation coefficient is computed, and it is within the acceptable limit. The developed antenna array is implemented and tested experimentally to be verified for validation. Finally, all the proposed designs are tested closely to a solar panel to realize the concept of green energy harvesting in the context of self-powered wireless systems. The solar panel locations with respect to the proposed MIMO antennas are considered in a way to avoid the nearfield coupling effects. Therefore, it is observed that the projected arrays are outstanding candidates for modern applications in a sub-6GHz for 5G networks.

Explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) aims to offer machine learning (ML) methods that enable people to comprehend, properly trust, and create more explainable models. In medical imaging, XAI has been adopted to interpret deep learning black box models to demonstrate the trustworthiness of machine decisions and predictions. In this work, we proposed a deep learning and explainable AI-based framework for segmenting and classifying brain tumors. The proposed framework consists of two parts. The first part, encoder-decoder-based DeepLabv3+ architecture, is implemented with Bayesian Optimization (BO) based hyperparameter initialization. The different scales are performed, and features are extracted through the Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) technique. The extracted features are passed to the output layer for tumor segmentation. In the second part of the proposed framework, two customized models have been proposed named Inverted Residual Bottleneck 96 layers (IRB-96) and Inverted Residual Bottleneck Self-Attention (IRB-Self). Both models are trained on the selected brain tumor datasets and extracted features from the global average pooling and self-attention layers. Features are fused using a serial approach, and classification is performed. The BO-based hyperparameters optimization of the neural network classifiers is performed and the classification results have been optimized. An XAI method named LIME is implemented to check the interpretability of the proposed models. The experimental process of the proposed framework was performed on the Figshare dataset, and an average segmentation accuracy of 92.68 % and classification accuracy of 95.42 % were obtained, respectively. Compared with state-of-the-art techniques, the proposed framework shows improved accuracy. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Timely and rapid diagnoses are core to informing on optimum interventions that curb the spread of COVID-19. The use of medical images such as chest X-rays and CTs has been advocated to supplement the Reverse-Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test, which in turn has stimulated the application of deep learning techniques in the development of automated systems for the detection of infections. Decision support systems relax the challenges inherent to the physical examination of images, which is both time consuming and requires interpretation by highly trained clinicians. A review of relevant reported studies to date shows that most deep learning algorithms utilised approaches are not amenable to implementation on resource-constrained devices. Given the rate of infections is increasing, rapid, trusted diagnoses are a central tool in the management of the spread, mandating a need for a low-cost and mobile point-of-care detection systems, especially for middle- and low-income nations. The paper presents the development and evaluation of the performance of lightweight deep learning technique for the detection of COVID-19 using the MobileNetV2 model. Results demonstrate that the performance of the lightweight deep learning model is competitive with respect to heavyweight models but delivers a significant increase in the efficiency of deployment, notably in the lowering of the cost and memory requirements of computing resources. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

The market needs a deeper and more comprehensive grasp of its insight, where the analytics world and methodologies such as “Sentiment Analysis” come in. These methods can assist people especially “business owners” in gaining live insights into their businesses and determining wheatear customers are satisfied or not. This paper plans to provide indicators by gathering real world Amazon reviews from Egyptian customers. By applying both Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers “Bert” and “Text Blob” sentiment analysis methods. The processes shall determine the overall satisfaction of Egyptian customers in the electronics department - in order to focus on a specific domain. The two methods will be compared for both the Arabic and English languages. The results show that people in *** are mostly satisfied with the percentage of 47%. For the performance, BERT outperformed Textblob indicating that word embedding model BERT is more superior than rule-based model Textblob with a difference of 15% - 25%.

Business stakeholders have expressed a great deal of interest in the idea of boosting the value of their companies by fusing them with the emerging metaverse notion. The metaverse is a brand-new phenomenon that will soon completely transform both the digital and physical environments. In light of this, the author creates a framework for how the metaverse alters the universe. To comprehend the value of the metaverse in relation to digital transformation, this research aimed to examine the effects of metaverse and marketing innovation based on empirical data on how companies use cutting-edge technology in conjunction with marketing initiatives and their impact on digital transformation. The quantitative analysis applied to explore the research model, a descriptive, exploratory and analytical research design applied using convenient sampling. 61 digital marketing agencies were approached located in Dubai. Data collected from 196 respondents were incorporated for analysis using SmartPLS 4.0. The findings suggest a positive significant relationship of metaverse and marketing innovation with digital transformation.

Performance of real-parameter global optimization algorithms is typically evaluated using sets of test problems. We propose a new methodology of extending these benchmarks to obtain a more balanced experimental design. This can be done by selectively removing some of the transformations originally used in the definitions of the test problems such as rotation, scaling, or translation. In this way, we obtain several variants of each problem parametrized by interpretable, high-level characteristics. These binary parameters are used as predictors in a multiple regression model explaining the algorithmic performance. Linear models allow for the attribution of strength and direction of performance changes to particular characteristics of the optimization problems and thus provide insight into the underlying mechanics of the investigated algorithms. The proposed ideas are illustrated with an application example showing the feasibility of the new benchmark. Parametrized benchmarking is a step towards obtaining multi-faceted insight into algorithmic performance and the optimization problems. The overall goal is to systematize a method of matching problems to algorithms and in this way constructively address the limitations imposed by the no free lunch theorem. © 2020 Owner/Author.
