The design of an antenna requires a careful selection of its parameters to retain the desired ***,this task is time-consuming when the traditional approaches are employed,which represents a significant *** the other hand,machine learning presents an effective solution to this challenge through a set of regression models that can robustly assist antenna designers to find out the best set of design parameters to achieve the intended *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for accurately predicting the bandwidth of metamaterial *** proposed approach is based on employing the recently emerged guided whale optimization algorithm using adaptive particle swarm optimization to optimize the parameters of the long-short-term memory(LSTM)deep *** optimized network is used to retrieve the metamaterial bandwidth given a set of *** addition,the superiority of the proposed approach is examined in terms of a comparison with the traditional multilayer perceptron(ML),Knearest neighbors(K-NN),and the basic LSTM in terms of several evaluation criteria such as root mean square error(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and mean bias error(MBE).Experimental results show that the proposed approach could achieve RMSE of(0.003018),MAE of(0.001871),and MBE of(0.000205).These values are better than those of the other competing models.

Current trends of digitalization and automation in the automotive industry have increased the complexity of computer clusters in different domains of vehicular ecosystems, which are required to support new features. This has led to redundancy in resource usage in specific use cases, resulting in increased production costs and manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) markups for the finalized products. The average retail price of a new vehicle in the United States increased by 13.4% between 2015 and 2020. Considering the global chip shortage of 2020 and current global inflation, the average price of a new vehicle in the United States reached $49,500 in 2023 [1]. With the electrification of current automotive platforms underway, as well as the move to centralized system architectures, new approaches to inter-domain communication are expected. This paper proposes a solution of a distributed AUTOSAR Adaptive system that can establish communication with the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) domain. The proof of concept implemented in a controlled environment proves viable for inter-domain communication, as it provides good scalability and adaptability to different scenarios. The use of a distributed approach facilitates the applicability of distributed system principles, allowing for the implementation of a stable system.

In this paper, we present a New Chaotic Jerk Model (NCJM) with a single equilibrium point for identifying chaotic dynamic behavior in an IoT-based Mobil Robot Navigation (MRN) system. Initially, we analyze the NCJM using equilibrium point analysis and the RK4 method. To further understand the dynamic behavior of the NCJM, we develop Lyapunov Exponential (LE) analyses and Bifurcation Diagrams (BD). The main finding of this study is that the NCJM exhibits both chaotic and periodic behaviors. The primary goal of this research is to create a kinematic model and design a mobile robot control system using the NCJM. Additionally, we design mobile robot hardware to test the effectiveness of the control system, utilizing an Arduino Uno. We analyze and compare the robot control through numerical simulations and experimental results, demonstrating the practical applicability and performance of the proposed system. © 2024 IEEE.

The paper analyzes the preparation of software for acoustic signal classification with machine learning techniques for microcontrollers. The design process was tested for three types of devices: Nordic Thingy:53, *** and Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Lite. The classifier training process was carried out using the Edge Impulse platform. Experimental studies were carried out for the process of classifying sound signals generated by the vacuum cleaner motor. The results of the training and the model test were presented for different configurations.

Nowadays one of the priority research areas for achieving technical progress within the Industry 4.0 program is the development of artificial intelligence and the introduction of innovations based on it into real industrial production. The article discusses the latest achievements in the integration of microprocessor control systems with artificial intelligence methods. There is being developed a knowledge base using modified algorithms for a unified artificial immune system (UAIS) for complex objects control in the oil and gas industry. The architecture of UAIS is presented on the example of the TengizChevroil enterprise technological process. The development of a rule base for optimal scenarios for technological process control is considered using the example of Unit 700 for gas fractionation. © 2021 IEEE.

Iris segmentation and localization in unconstrained environments are challenging due to long distances, illumination variations, limited user cooperation, and moving subjects. Some existing methods in the literature have somehow mitigated some of the above-mentioned issues. In this paper, motivated by these weaknesses, we propose a framework that employs a deep neural network-based approach to iris segmentation and localization. The proposed framework is based on a U-Net architecture initialized with a pre-trained MobileNetV2 model. In addition, to better study the detectors in iris recognition scenarios, we have collected 1000 images. The provided dataset (KartalOl) is made publicly available for the research community. In the proposed framework, to have better generalization, we fine-tuned the MobileNetV2 model on the provided data for NIR-ISL 2021 from the CASIA-Iris-Asia, CASIA-Iris-M1, and CASIA-Iris-Africa and our dataset. Likewise, data augmentation techniques are applied on images. We chose the binarization threshold for the binary masks by iterating over the images in the provided dataset. The proposed framework is trained and tested in CASIA-Iris-Asia, CASIA-Iris-M1, and CASIA-Iris-Africa, along with the KartalOl dataset. The experimental results highlight that our method surpasses state-of-the-art methods on mobile-based benchmarks. The rapid development of digital technology has brought about the challenge of ensuring information security. Cryptography and steganography are among the various techniques available to address this challenge. These techniques come in different forms and provide reliable means of securing information and communication. Despite the existence of numerous options, new variations are still emerging. This paper concentrates on Least Significant Bit (LSB) coding, which is one of the most widely recognized and frequently utilized steganography techniques. The advantages of LSB-based coding methods are high capacity and low complexity. However, predictability is an issue. Audio files’ sizes and data redundancy make audio data perfect for steganography, as it is possible to embed large amounts of secret information and easily transmit the signal via various communication channels. However, the use of LSB coding in audio steganography has a drawback due to the extreme sensitivity of the human auditory system (HAS). This means that any noise added to the audio with data embedded in the LSBs can be detected by the HAS, which is dependent on the number of LSBs used. This work presents an improvement of the LSB-based approach, the XORing of LSBs method, with an emphasis on enhanced security. The method achieves this by randomly picking the pairs of bits to be XOR’d while preserving the characteristics of classic LSB methods. To verify the method, it has been implemented on the Cirrus Logic DSP, proving that it may be efficiently used in a real-time audio environment without interfering with HAS sensitivity levels.

Autonomous Exploration of Unknown 3D Environments Using a Frontier-Based Collector Strategy

Autonomous exploration using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is essential for various tasks such as building inspections, rescue operations, deliveries, and warehousing. However, there are two main limitations to previous approaches: they may not be able to provide a complete map of the environment and assume that the map built during exploration is accurate enough for safe navigation, which is usually not the case. To address these limitations, a novel exploration method is proposed that combines frontier-based exploration with a collector strategy that achieves global exploration and complete map creation. In each iteration, the collector strategy stores and validates frontiers detected during exploration and selects the next best frontier to navigate to. The collector strategy ensures global exploration by balancing the exploitation of a known map with the exploration of unknown areas. In addition, the online path replanning ensures safe navigation through the map created during motion. The performance of the proposed method is verified by exploring 3D simulation environments in comparison with the state-of-the-art methods. Finally, the proposed approach is validated in a real-world experiment. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

Due to the vagueness and uncertainties due to the coronavirus, it is crucial to implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the World Health Organization and the authorities. Therefore an effective control system is required that minimizes the vagueness and uncertainties of people who are on the front line during the period of this pandemic checking the entering persons in an indoor area where it is necessary to maintain a distance of six feet from one another to avoid the spread of coronavirus. In this research work, a robust and efficient system has been proposed that takes protective mask and feverishness values as input and applies them using the fuzzy logic algorithm. If these input values are according to the rules defined in the system, then the door will open as an output. Otherwise, the door will not open. It is, finally, analyzing the output values. This fuzzy model had been implemented using a microcontroller. The genuine difference in the duty cycle of the microcontroller’s output pulse was measured using a 100 MHz digital oscilloscope. Our proposed system was compared with different systems reported in the literature. This work reduces the human effort as well as the negligence of people and builds up the management system without the labor in a mint. © 2023 IEEE.
